Ultimate SEO URLs

I could not get Chemo's to work, tried this one and so far only ran into a problem with 'cache' or something. Reuploaded the files again and haven't run into the problem since. Had tried Chemo's a couple of months ago but never could get that one to work.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one. I've actually tried Chemo's URL mod on two sites now, no luck. No problem with Ultimate SEO though. I posted with error details etc in Chemo thread, but didn't get an answer.

Still waiting to hear if anyone has got Dreamscape News Article Management working with this module. See my post: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=431706&postcount=78

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi,

Using Ultimate URL's with google checkout and paypal express on zen 1.3.7 perfectly fine - thanks! In the config I can see it specifies what to actually rewrite - what would i type in there to get it to rename my product images too ?

Regards

Try checking out the HoverBox module ... you make like it rather than the standard pop-up.

I have a release being released this evening that is compatible with IH2. So you may want to wait until tomorrow. But nevertheless, check it out.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Any chances for me to get this working on a Windows machine running IIS? Though I know that IIS is not picking up the .htaccess

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hi,

I am using Ultimate SEO URL v2.101 in my Zencart v1.3.7. Is it necessary to upgrade to v2.105?

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

I am trying to get the ultimate seo url module to work on my website. I am using zen cart 1.3.7.1 and ultimate seo 2.105 with sql 5.0 and PHP 5.1.

The index page works great. However whenever I click on category I get a 404 error. The same happens when I click on any link on the index page.

If anyone wants to see the error in action you can go to http://officialebusinessonline.com/shop Right now I just have the demo store installed.

Save yourself the headache of messing with this during this critical time. Spend your time making money on your site during this holiday shopping season. When the holiday is done invest $89 in the version that works and is fully supported. You would have saved a lot of precious time.

This sounds like a great idea. I was unaware that there was a version you can pay for. Where can I get this at?

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Having your product or category "name" is a very small factor in search engine ranking, although it does help.

If you copy and paste any dynamic url from your site, you will the pages are indexed. So long as they are being indexed, they are in fact being scored based on individual page content verses search engine criteria for proper ranking.

An easy way to see if your pages are being indexed:
type the following into a search engine: "site:http://yourdomain.com"

The search engine will list the pages indexed and inbound links from other website to your own that contain that url.

The thought process behind seo urls is solid, but the total concept of SEO being implemented into how you write content and structure your site AFTER researching the targeted key phrases is more important, and to me not worth the mod.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Hey Guys

I'm having this problem and Im pretty sure its coming from the SEO Urls...

Ever since I installed Word Press Blog and its module for zencart I found out that when I choose a manufacturer from the mabufacturer SideBox it goes directly to the blog page at:

www.*****.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress

The address the browser shows is correct, something like that:

www.****.com/?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=2
But still it goes to the blog page.

When I disable the SEO Urls, it works just fine so I figure it related to that....

Anyone else have this problem? Do u how to fix it? Maybe just disable SEO 4 Manufacturere?? I tried delete the manufacturer line from the .htacces - Didn't Work....

Thank you for your help

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

No one had this problem??

I now notice it happens when I filter my category products (using the "Products Start With A,B,C,...) also.

Did anyone here have both the Ultimate SEO URLs and the WordPress Blog and module for zencart??

Thank u for helping

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

schoolboy:

I have TWO separate websites, on two separate servers. One is my zencart which is devoid of any added-on SEO mechanics. The other is a flat, plain and simple, html site which has been built to SEO standards.

I get high rankings on my html site.

When visitors link to my html site, prominent buttons and hyperlinks take them to the shop.

It means (generally) one extra click for my customers (to get from the html site to the zencart site, but as I have "cloned" the "zencart look" into my html site front page, visitors don't realise they are being "ported" to a completely different site.

Besides, I get hundreds of visitors using this technique. If a few drop off becuase they can't be bothered to click the extra link, it's worth it anyway. My webtrends report indicates over 90% do actually make the necessary click.

Great for you, we have created hundreds of identical static html pages of cart product pages with no effect.

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

I've installed Ultimate SEO URL 2.106 on Zen Cart 1.3.8a.
I've configured it.

Now what?
What do I do to get my friendly urls?
Please forgive me if this is a obvious question.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Copy files from _zen_cart_folder to your Zen Cart install
  2. Copy (or MERGE if you have made changes) files from v138-specific-files to your Zen Cart install
  3. A sample .htaccess file is included. Simply rename to .htaccess and edit the word /shop/ to match your site

Re: Ultimate SEO URLs

Ok, I understand how this works now.
I think I'll uninstall it . I wanted something that I could control the URL created. The URLs by this mode are note intuitive enough.

Anyone using a better solution?

Just an idea: I thought I could create files that uses the meta tag refresh to another page say: http://nahidfashions.com/boutique/index.php?main_page=page_2

but this doesn't work. I don't have much experience with this so I may have to do some research.
