Make a sale, get a text message

Did you by chance make the PayPal IPN change I recommended in the help? You will have to back this out too.

It sounds to me like you have multiple copies of the class file where it shouldn't be. All the error message is saying is that when it gets to load the class msg_owner, that class has already been declared. i.e. it already exists.
This means that you most likely have another copy of that file in your folders, and it is being auto loaded there.

Easiest way to check is to go to admin-tools-developer toolkit and search for msg_owner or similar, and see if it finds multiple copies.

Hi Scott. I just installed the mod. However I cannot get the SQL to run in my zen cart. this is the error I get. I PM'd you as I didn't find this thread after searching twice. I have no clue why. But now that I found it, I'll post the error here too. Hopefully you can help, as I would really like to be able to use the function on/off from my admin!

If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Are you "copying and pasting" the text from the sql file and running it through Zen Admin? Try running it through phpMyAdmin.

I opened it in Dreamweaver, selected all, copied, put it in ZenCart. Worked perfectly. Then a few minutes later, without thinking about it I created a test acount and test product and purchased it testing out my gateway. I kid you not, as fast as I hit submit.... i got a text message.

I just installed this mod and I get this error:

Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function.

I do get regular emails from my cart about orders. Any ideas?

Haven't seen that before.

The error message means just what it says - Unable to talk to the mail function/mail server.
Translation - I am unable to connect to the specified method of sending mail, or, I can connect, but it is refusing the mail I am trying to send.

What email transport transport settings do you have on your site? I'd suggest you check with your hosting co. as to whether they block such SMS emails.

He's able to send other emails, so it shouldn't be a transport settings issue.

Solarflare, as a test, please enter your SMS email address in one of the other email fields for Zen Cart, such as copy of order confirmation emails, and be sure that works. I have never heard of these emails being blocked, as Chuckl is suggesting, but perhaps this is happening. You're positive this email address works, right - have you tested it in a regular client to be sure you can get SMS notifications by email?

Yep, looks like it was my fault. I had a @@ in there instead of a single. Weird.

If you use the electronic assistant Sandy (iwantsandy.com), you can do things like ask Sandy to send you a reminder in a week to follow up with a customer using this mod. Detailed instructions are provided in the help page on my website. This is also an option for shopowners who do not have an email to SMS gateway but wish to receive SMS messages.

I just installed this on a 1.3.8 site, and it works great, but includes the Can-Spam footer that comes with 1.3.8 (Didn't see that in .7) and I'm not sure how to turn it off. It turns a short text into a longer 2 part one that I'm sure I'll get charged more for.

Any thoughts?

I've just installed this mod and placed a test order, I don't get sent a text message but if I check my phone email account it is there. I have probably made a silly mistake somewhere.

I am using paypal express checkout, do I still need to make the changes to the ipn handler file?

Another thought, when I edit the file class.msg_owner it says enter mobile number so just clarify do I use my actual mobile number (example 440123456789) or my phone email address (example [email protected])

You enter your phone's email address. See step 3 in the instructions.

I don't know about express checkout. Please use the IPN instructions and let me know if this works.

I used my phone email address the email comes through but it does not get converted to a text message which means I have to manually check for new emails which defeats the point. Changing the IPN file made no difference.

If I provide the script with my phone email address how does it know to send me an sms and where does it get my number from to do this.
