Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

stitchnkitty:

Hello all a newbie here - I am inching my way forward -
Tried my first feed upload and have a tiny problem----
my user name for my ftp is differnet from my user name for the merchant center. - Can anyone give me a hint where to tweek this? the ftp_user is the same as my ftp user but how is this getting into the merchant center? or do we need to?

Google Base Feeder v1.8.2 started 2010/07/20 19:09:35
Feed file - //public_html/feed/google/stitchnframeonline_products.xml
Processing: Feed - No, Upload - Yes
Upload started...
Login failed:
Connected to: uploads.google.com
Upload failed...

TIA!!

I am not very good with this, but I will give this a shot eh.

I believe the FTP configuration in your zencart admin is not the FTP username that you set with your host; this FTP username is what you should already set in googlebase merchant (go login to your googlebase, settings=>FTP. You will get to configure the FTP username and password.

With this information, input the exact same value into your zencart config for google feed.

FYI, I haven't been able to upload the content up to the googlebase via my zencart even though the login is successful. I upload the file manually. (refer to earlier post on this)

Hope this helps.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Ok i used the same user name and password that was set up in the google ftp account and this is the same as the google configuration in the admin.

You got that right - I may have done thing round about but i DL the gnerated file via Filezilla and the did a manual upload - but I think I will run into trouble because I have more than one data feed generated to my site. We will see - it is still processing.

any other hints?

Not too sure what do you mean by generating more than one datafeed. It will be replaced with the latest when you changed the configuration, and generate from the admin=>tools=>google feed.

Hope all is well for you though. Good luck.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi,
I have tried to install Google Base to my website but googlefroogle.sql does not exist in version 1.8.2. There is an instruction to copy and paste this into the Admin/Tools/Install SQL patches. I tried doing this with the file googlefroogle.php which is there, but it didnt work. Any ideas? I'm using Zen Cart version 1.3.9d.
Thanks,
Noelle.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I have googlebase feeder 1.8.2 and numinix product fields installed on 139d zen.

I have isbn/upc activated and when I have an isbn number included in my listings I do see the isbn is included in the xml file.

When the feed is uploaded to google, google is seeing the isbn number as an invalid upc.

I'm just curious if anyone else has started including an isbn number in their feed and if their isbn number is being seen as an invalid upc too.

I haven't received any clarification about this from google.

Before that will work you will need to install
UPC/ISBN Product Fields

The upc/isbn mod adds fields that are already provided by the numinix product fields mod, so the upc/isbn mod is not needed. To be sure I checked with numinix.

Thanks for responding though. :-)

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Thanks buildingbocks for your reply.

I've installed Google Base Feeder ok now but when I go to Admin->Tools->Google Base Feeder, there are no instructions as to how to populate the feed file. I can create the 2 files, documents and products and I can see the upload links but I am lost apart from that. Any ideas?

Kenichi:

What Identifier does it say it's missing?

The google's dashboard simply says:

Data quality
Error type Percentage Count
Missing Identifiers 100% 11
Invalid Identifiers 0% 0
Long Titles 82% 9
Short Descriptions 0% 0

I guess I may need the UPC/ISBN Product Fields?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Evening all,

I've just tried to instal this as follows:

1.Unzip and upload all files to your store directory (except .sql files)

done, checked

2.Chmod feed directory to 777

done, checked

3.Go to Admin->Tools->Install SQL Patches and install googlefroogle.sql by copying and pasting (do not upload);

the only SGL file is install.sql so I assume this is it?

I copied the contents of the file (as text) to the SQL Query Executor

The result was a message at the top of the screen stating "failed"

Please advise what to do next.

Presumably the SQL updates also need ot be run once the main one is sorted?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Update...

I have re-run the install.sql and seems it worked this time

I have then set about installing all the SQL patches, but keep coming across the following error,

1062 Duplicate entry 'GOOGLE_BASE_PRODUCT_TYPE' for key 2
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_id, configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES (NULL, 'Product Type', 'GOOGLE_BASE_PRODUCT_TYPE', 'top', 'Use top-level, bottom-level, or full-path as product_type?', @configuration_group_id, 34, NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array('top', 'bottom', 'full'),'), (NULL, 'Starting Point', 'GOOGLE_BASE_START_PRODUCTS', '0', 'Start at which entry (not product_id)?
Default=0', @configuration_group_id, 24, NOW(), NULL, NULL);]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Please can someone clarify that I should be copying the contents of all of these files into the box and running them, as it is unclear from the instructions.

Further, if I am meant to be running these, why do I keep getting this error message?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi. I tried installing the module. pasted the sql into Install SQL Patch. On top i saw 8 statements processed successfully. But underneath that there was only the link that says "Configuration". All other menus disappeared. When i mouse over that configuration, it shows:

1062 Duplicate entry '0' for key 1
in:
[insert into zen_admin_files set page = 'Google Base Feeder Configuration']
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank field.
(screenshot attached)

Need your help please.

Thanks
Farhan

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Can someone help guide me to set up my Google Base feeder to update and upload automatically? I see the note in the Admin panel that says to set up a cron job via the host control panel, but I don't know what that means at all. Would you point me in the right direction? Thank you!
