Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

since upgrading to the new version i am not getting errors in the debug mod for example

id: 53, price: 166.66, description length: 0 - skipped, price below zero, description length less than 15 chars, or title less than 3 chars - failed

here is the item
http://www.rubberduckbathrooms.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=53

so what is the error?

also

Google Merchant Center File Complete In 388.954930 Seconds 2124 of 2634 Records missing loads of item and also my total number of items are 2714 not 2634. so missing loads of items for a start

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

It can mean a variety of things. I don't see anything in the source code that's obvious.

If you have products with zero quantity and have not activated the include zero quantity, it may be ignoring a number of your products.

When you say the most recent version, do you mean 1.10.1 that is presently only on Numinix's site?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

admin settings: 0 quantity? If you have zero quantities and you haven't enabled that, those products don't export. There are also many other reasons why it might be happening and it would take a fair amount of time to figure out why.

Have you set the file to 'debug' and rerun the 'generate' without doing an upload. Then view the file and it should let you know what the error is on each product.

Description < 15 characters, etc.

The other thing to look at in the configuration drop-down are the Included and Excluded categories - do you have the right numbers?

At least that is what worked for me. :shocking:

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Dear All:

I need some help for google feed after hours of fruitless searching for an answer:

First, all my products with price at "$0" can not feed into google even though the description is more than 15 characters and the title is more than 3 characters, is there any way to get around this?

Second, the products which got feed are not showing the base price, they are showing base price plus the prices by ALL the attributes, which makes the products look extremely expensive. Why is that, the attribute price is supposed to be added only when customer selects that attribute. How come the feed can pick up the attribute price and add to the base price, very confused...:dontgetit

Thanks in advance.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

updates:

I fixed the attribute issue by changing the "price based on attributes" from "yes" to "no", now google is showing the correct price. But the $0 products are still not showing in google feed. :lookaroun

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Found a small bug.

Some of you may not be bothered by this, but i'm a little fussy about which images I want google to show in the shopping results.

If you have a product with additional images, then google will show the last image for that product in the shopping results page.
, instead of your main image.

I could not find a way of re-ordering the way images are displayed in the xml file, so instead I removed a small bit of code that adds the additional image urls.

You can't have a $0 price. It has to have something above 0.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

With regard to the discussion in this thread about the new Google Base / Google Merchant requirement to include a Google Product Category ... it's been stated and I understand that the Google Base Feeder module hasn't been updated for this requirement. I have a more general question. Google says it wants us to continue to upload the product_type field, but it's requiring us to add a new google_product_category that also requires a very specific hierarchy and taxonomy to describe products. Currently the feeder module does a very nice job of uploading my store categories under the product_type field, such as Books > Non-Fiction > Series Books, but the new google_product_category field would require me to list that as Media > Books > Non-Fiction > Children's Books. So my question is, how can Zen Cart be made to supply both of these fields? I don't want to change my store's actual categoryies to match Google's specific taxonomy and have to modiy my store whenever Google chooses to change it. Does anyone have a concept about how this can all work? Would Zen Cart's databases have to be modified to add a new field for google_product_category that we would fill in on the New Product page apart from the store's actual category structure? It's hard for me to figure out how to plan for this Google change.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I has 1.3.8a zen cart and had a module installed called Google Base (Froogle) Feeder which was installed 3 years ago when I first started my site.

My site is going through an upgraded right now to 1.3.9H and the Google Base (Froogle) Feeder is the only thing not working thus far.

on the Google Base (Froogle) Feeder configuration on the zen card admin there is NOTHING there, no options at all. Like its missing?

Any help?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

After a recent update of google base feeder (unsure of previous version but i removed and reinstalled the latest version) it wont create the feeds. Clicking on the product feed for example just gives a blank page. Http error log shows

[Sun Aug 28 23:28:26 2011] [error] [client 10.0.0.10] File does not exist: /secware/html/catalog/includes/stylesheet.css, referer: http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/googlefroogle.php?feed=fy_un_tp&limit=&offset=&x=53&y=9&key=xxxxxx

Ive checked the zip file to see if i should of uploaded etc and they are not there so im assuming its something else?

Many Thanks

James

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

  1. are you using the latest version (1.9.1) of Google base feed (have to ask as for some bizarre reason people often try to use ancient versions of add-ons on the latest zencart)

  2. Did you rename the admin folder correctly etc to match your site

  3. there is a support thread here, where yopu'll probably get better help as the people who maintain the contribution hang out there

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I had 1.3.8a google base older verson from 2008 on my site and it worked fine. I just recently hired someone to do my zen cart upgrade to 1.3.9H. This google base is the only thing we cannot get working. In the configure part where all of the configuration info should be, there is nothing there at all. Any help to this problem? I am getting very anxious and frustrated, as I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi all - just curious if anyone has been working an enhancement for the change google in enforcing next month? Just didn;t want to reinvent the wheel if someone else was close. Here is the link for the changes http://base-forum-announcements.##########################/2011/07/weve-made-changes-to-google-product.html.

Thanks
Andy
