Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

AZComp:

I was working fine with version 1.90 but I upgraded to 1.91 and now I get

on every item. I tried adding an item with no extra or special characters and no dice. Can anyone help?

How can I download an older version?

Thanks!

upgrading to 1.10.1 will get rid of that - but you may need to totally uninstall and reinstall. The one time it happened to me, upgrading netting me no items in the export. Then I wiped it out and started over and it worked.

Delia,

I don't have any questions - well actually I did until I saw your post that Jeff is working on an update - but I did want to offer you my thanks for all the work you've been putting in to this. It's people like you that help to make open source the absolute best approach to site development.

Thanks so much. It's always nice to be appreciated!

MikeyG:

availability does seem to be in my feed. The expression in the code suggst that if stock quantity is greater than 0 then <g:availability> in stock </g:availability> is generated else <g:availability>available for order</g:availability>. (line 355 of the googlefroogle.php file) (Happy to be corrected as I do not claim to have any php programming skills as such but just looking through the code this is what I have concluded.)

Make sure your admin includes the setting - Include Zero Quantity - true

Thanks for the help - I still can't get it working though. Do you actually see the tag in your generated XML?

Just had a look at the googlefroogle.php that is in the root directory. Is this the one you mean?.
I don't have mention of availability in mine.
I think I downloaded direct from numinux's site - maybe I have an out of date version or something.

The tag is not generated in the feed file. It doesn't seem to matter, though, as Google is not generating a missing attribute warning when the feed is uploaded. At least not for either one of my feeds. The only warning I'm getting is for Google Product Category.

According to Google though, that will change on 22nd September and your account will be suspended if you don't comply with the new requirements. At least that's what they say... :(

Google provides a feed test feature so site owners can determine what needs to be updated in the feed. The test is not kicking out the lack of the availablity tag as an issue.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Hi guys,

I have searched up and down on this forum for an answer to this and have found little help. I am using the newest version of the Google Merchant Center Feeder script. I ran the MySQL database configuration flawlessly. I adjusted the Google Froogle output under configuration and ran one successful addition to Google. When I re-ran the script a week later to add new products to Google the script gave me a blank page (404) error. The error occurs when you click on "Confirm" under Tools to create the file to upload. It's been weeks since I've looked at this and cannot remember what I've done here. I'm pretty much ready to scrap things and re-install.

My website is https://www.mountbaldybrewing.com/zencart/. The feed can be found on Google. Everything looks great for the products that are there but not everything is there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Joe,

Have you checked the permissions on your feed folder? It needs to be 777.

Thanks! Wasn't aware of that, I'll check it out

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

My latest feed shows many Missing Unique Product Identifier errors. When I check the listing, it has correct manufacturer, item condition, upc code.

What may/may not be accurate is the MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) I use the Products model number as a unique identifier for my own inventory and does not always match the manufacturer's model number

Question:
Can the product feed be adjusted to turn off the Products Model box and instead use the SKU box for mpn in the google feed mod?

TIA

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

what version are you using?
What sku box?

New version of this mod is supposed to be out this week. Perhaps best to hold questions until it is in play. I don't know what the changes will be.

1.10.1 is the feed ver and 1.2.1 for additional product info.

I hope so. With the 9/22 deadline, I have a lot of updating to do. I would hate for it to come out late and force me to pull an all-nighter w no time to de-bug my own data errors LOL

Will there also be a new version of the product fields mod? Isn't that where the new required Google Product Category information would need to be pulled from? Or, can that be coded directly in to the Merchant Center Feed?

Don't know Resco. The product info addons include SKU, availability, shipping wt. and dimensions, SKU, UPC, EAN, ASIN and other goodies.

[groan] back to work revising.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

I'm definitely not in the know here. I had written Jeff about what was intended because of the need for the product category fields and he just let me know that he's releasing something this week.

Thanks, delia. I'll assume since he is aware of the need for the GPC attribute that whatever he comes up with will address that.

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Another question occured to me, and this is probably a simple one for those with more experience. I use calculated shipping, connecting to both USPS and UPS. I've never been able to figure out which shipping method to select in the feed configuration to get this to work correctly. Some options cause it to show up as free shipping, some as no shipping.

I can use the shipping options directly in Google, but they don't offer First Class and many of the items I sell are lightweight. This makes the items show in the results with a total cost that is much higher than reality.

Does anybody know how to set this up correctly in the feed?

Re: Google Base Feeder Support Thread [OLD]

Because I saw that there were some mandatory changes I upgraded my Google Base mod to the newest version.

However I see on this thread there is yet to be an even newer version to be released.

What I have encountered is this...

With a little modification ( instock col deleted ) (Adding a Google Products Category) to name a few. I was able to make a new feed with no errors or warnings.

However, the XML feed says:

XML formatting error - Error

Our system encountered an error when processing your data feed. Learn more.
Examples:
Line Nr. Column Nr.
6 28

I always submit both... Maybe they wont let me do that anymore anyway...

http://www.numinix.com/google-merchant-center-feeder

Will do the update today and see if it fixes the errors on the google, and comply to the new requirement.
