FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

testuser:

 A silent update was made to the download available in signature ...

Finally got added to the downloads section. You can get it there or from the link in signature.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

BEWARE: If you use the File Manager features ... make sure to CHMOD your directory permissions for that folder back to 755 after you've completed your editing. This ensures a safe and secure site.

How do you access the file manager?

By either clicking on the Image Button on the editor's top panel, or the flash button. Believe I have it set to specifics so that others won't confuse the two (add image to flash, vice versa).

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Ok I thought file manager would enable you to edit any file in the system like oscommerce. Is there a capability for this anywhere?

What I need is to allow my enduser to edit content of a sidebox, and since tehre's no way that I know of in zencart to do that, I was hoping this filemanager would. But, is there something else that would allow them to edit content of sidebox?

Site is afrobooksinc.com. For instance they want to edit the right box under categories where the addresses are. How can they do that without using FTP?

Is there a way to replace the tables that fckeditor uses with div?

Kimson,

Very nice products. If I had the funds I'd start importing them to the US.

This may be a stupid question but, have you installed the fckediter add-on from the Zen Cart downloads section,

And have you gone into:

Admin,
Configuration,
My Store,
HTML Editor,

and then choose fckeditor in the drop down menu?

No, there is no "file manager" in Zen Cart. IMO it's much safer to use FTP.

Nevertheless, there is an editable sidebox mod available which might suit your needs: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=686

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Don't personally like these HTML editors, but am trying to install this for a client and getting the following message> Not Found

The requested URL /editors/fckeditor/editor/fckeditor.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.Except that the file is there with appropriate permissions and I can link to it directly to bring up the editor on its own in a browser. Only when integrated with Zen Cart (i.e. useful) do I get this message.

The site is using Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 and version 2.4.3 of the FCKeditor available from this site's download section.

I'm rather hoping that before I go into deep debug mode, somebody else can point me towards a more rapid solution.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Guess I'll need to answer this one myself

The problem appears to be that the editor handler file is encouraging it to look for the editor files relative to the admin directory. Resolved by finding the handler file (admin/includes/fckeditor_php5.php for this site) and changing the setting of $this->BasePath to > HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_CATALOG. 'editors/fckeditor/' to give it an absolute URL instead.

While in there I also changed the value $this->EditorAreaCSS to > HTTP_SERVER . DIR_WS_ADMIN . 'includes/stylesheet.css' as it seemed more logical to pick up styling from the admin stylesheet than the default template for the catalog.

Nice ... I'll make the updates to both downloads. Needed to add an extra definition for the newsletter area as well.

Did you notice the error on 4 as well?

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Are there any security concerns with this mod still? I remember reading that there were some security concerns with the image uploading or something to that end.

Thanks,

Brandon

The security issues lie with the Webmaster ... if you CHMOD the directories back to a safe folder permission after your done with them there shouldn't be any concern.

If there isn't a blank index.php or index.html file in there, you can add one of those if you'd like. And of course, yes you can always go the .htaccess way of blocking indexing of those directories.

For those of you ahead of the times:

It does not work in FF 3 (Gran Paradiso)!!!

I'm using FF 2.0.0.6 but FCKeditor is a no-show. I checked in IE and it works fine. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

**For those of you on 1.3.6 (fixed in 1.3.7)

admin/includes/modules/product/collect_info.php

Line 411 - 415:

**```

<?php if (HTML_EDITOR_PREFERENCE=="FCKEDITOR") { // if (HTML_EDITOR_PREFERENCE=="FCKEDITOR") require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES.'fckeditor.php'); $oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor ; $oFCKeditor->Value = (isset($products_description[$languages[$i]['id']])) ? stripslashes($products_description[$languages[$i]['id']]) : zen_get_products_description($pInfo->products_id, $languages[$i]['id']) ; $oFCKeditor->CreateFCKeditor( 'products_description[' . $languages[$i]['id'] . ']', '99%', '230' ) ; //instanceName, width, height (px or %) ``` **Replace with: **``` <?php if ($_SESSION['html_editor_preference_status']=="FCKEDITOR") { $oFCKeditor = new FCKeditor('products_description[' . $languages[$i]['id'] . ']') ; $oFCKeditor->Value = (isset($products_description[$languages[$i]['id']])) ? stripslashes($products_description[$languages[$i]['id']]) : zen_get_products_description($pInfo->products_id, $languages[$i]['id']) ; $oFCKeditor->Width = '99%' ; $oFCKeditor->Height = '350' ; // $oFCKeditor->Config['ToolbarLocation'] = 'Out:xToolbar' ; // $oFCKeditor->Create() ; $output = $oFCKeditor->CreateHtml() ; echo $output; //instanceName, width, height (px or %) ``` You'll probably have to fix collect_info.php in document_general, document_product, etc ... if issues are arising there as well.

Thanks, testuser, but I'm using v1.3.7 (I checked to be sure the above is there), and FCKEditor is still a no-show in FF 2.0.0.6.

I just checked a clean install and FF 2.0.0.6 and it worked for me.

Can you give me a few more details like your php version. You can find this under Tools :: Server Info

Also, maybe an admin login so I could possibly see any errors. You can PM that to me.

You may also need to clear your browser's cache and logout and log back into the admin. :lamo:
