FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

testuser:

Can you give me a few more details like your php version. You can find this under Tools :: Server Info

PHP Version: 5.2.3 (Zend: 2.2.0) running on localhost.

I'd cleared the cache many times but never actually logged off. The logoff worked! Nice mod, nice support. Thanks!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi

First up thanks for creating the plugin it works beautifully with no problems for me

However

When i was checking my web statistics and i had a huge leap in 404 errors and the increase seems to be due to this plugin, but i have never got an error message anywhere

These are the 2 main errors, (there are a couple more smaller ones, but i am assuming that when i fix this they should also disappear )

/shop/editors/fckeditor/editor/includes/templates/template_default/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js

and this one

/shop/editors/fckeditor/editor/includes/modules/pages/product_info/jscript_textarea_counter.js

both have this page listed as a referrer

<http://mysite.co.nz/shop/editors/fckeditor/editor/fckeditor.html>

but neither of those directories exist

and i cannot find where to change the code that generates those links

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Just a heads up for all who are interested -

THE NEW FCKEDITOR 2.5 Beta is out!

It is supposed to have browser support for two more browser types and much greater control with font, etc as well as much better control with mark-up.

I have not tested it out yet - but the last upgrade just consisted of uploading the files to the same location after initial installation of the zencart module.

It may be a nice quick upgrade for the community if someone were to test out the beta version and see if it works as well for zencart.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I gave it a try -

IT WORKS GREAT -

Even much better than the last version.

I love the strong control with the font and the ability to locate items.

Before this - putting everything in box fields was a pain in the neck -

With this, you can edit your entire site in an hour.

I highly recommend it!

Does the generated HTML pass validation?
I notice your site is getting javascript errors on each page and fails XHTML validation.
I'm not sure if that's a result of content coming from your updated editor or something else.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

It is actually coming from something else.

It has been that way for some time and I have not been able to find the problem.

I think that happened when I was playing around with one of the old add additional customer field modules or toying with the google search engine.

I have not had time to go back and search for the problem.

I figured I would correct it upon the next release as soon as it comes out.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Hi,

yes, fck-editor is much better than HTML-Area, nice mod. I've installed it on my local server, and "out of the box" evertything worked fine. Now, after uploading it to the publich server fck-editor I expected the editor to run there as well, but:

When I am calling the editor from my machine at home, the page to be edited is shown as plain-text, whre fck-editor is chosen in the dropdown-menue although.

When I am doing the same thing from the machine in my office (which has another IP of course) everything is perfect ....

What I was doing untlil now: cleared cache, logged out, logged in, ... nothing ...

(using PHP 4.x on a linux-server)

any Ideas???

thanks, jens

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

When you are working with multiple IP addresses (especially when different websites that are on different IPs but the same account) things can get a bit harry. Domains start to over-view SSH and VPN domains and visa-versa.

There are so many different configuartion possibilities, it is hard to say exactly what went wrong.

My guess is that not all IPs are set to be accessed outside the network - someone is running a VPN on the server.

It is possible that your main zencart could be running on a sub-account (ie a subfile under an account with more access.) If this is the case, the software serving the java information could be in a higher folder with no access to the internet for security purposes - This could especially be true if you have a Java server with tomcat serverlets, etc. running in the higher-level domain.

You would be able to see it on a intranet server because you have access to read the files properly - however, you could not serve them to the general public.

I had a similar problem as you with (multiple IPs and multiple domains) It took many calls down to the webserver before I found a tech that knew how to reconfigure the the server to be able to view what I needed. I can now see my sites properly, but now I see the wrong web page when trying to access my SSH server - so I have to type in the IP address into putty to use it that way (I figure I am better-off leaving well enough alone.)

Good Luck!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

There's some bug in fckeditor that prevents it from showing in the category metatags page. Can anyone tell me how to fix that?

Thanks!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

I had a problem getting Page Not Found when trying to use fckeditor. It's the latest version, just downloaded it from the download section today. I'm also using the latest ZC and PHP 4.

I viewed the source of the admin page where I was using it and noticed the generated link to the editor was incomplete. All it showed was /editors/fckeditor.

So I went to the admin/includes/fckeditor_php4.php file and changed this:

$this->BasePath = DIR_WS_CATALOG.'editors/fckeditor/' ;

to this:

$this->BasePath = HTTP_SERVER . '/editors/fckeditor/' ;

I think this is due to the fact that I have ZC installed in my servers root folder and not in a sub-folder. When I looked at my includes/configure.php file I noticed this:

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');

which explains the incomplete src url.

I don't know if this was the correct or best way to fix it, but I thought I would share my fix.

You have done great with these additions.

Your site looks beautiful as always. I did notice that the breadcrumbs are set to fall on top of the drop-down list. I know that you pride yourself in a beautiful site, so I figured I would let you know I found that.

Great job with the FCKeditor!

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Okay.. I have tried searching, and various "experiments", but am still no closer to the answer I need.. I'm sure this is a simple answer..

Because my client has this strange formatting he's INSISTING on using for his product pages, I created new classes in his style sheet, and I now need to provide him with an HTML editor to make adding/editing product a little easier for him (he's HTML challenged & teaching him how to apply styles to his product text is NOT gonna happen).

How do I get this editor to read styles from my store's stylesheet?? I did some digging around, and even added the styles I want to the "fck_editorarea.css". That didn't seem to do anything.. I don't see my newly added styles appearing in the styles dropdown list.

A quick assit would be most appreciated..

You'll have to change the stylesheet called by the fckeditor configuration files.

Depending on which version of PHP your using the file will either be fckeditor_php4.php or fckeditor_php5.php in the admin, includes folder.

Re: FCKeditor 2.4.3 - Content Editor addon for Zen Cart

Thanks.. I was gonna to try just that.. (I did some more reading after I posted my cry for help:smile:)

But then I realized that the client doesn't need access to EVERY single style in the stylesheet.. So I went to the FCKeditor site and I am now experimenting with editing the fckstyles.xml file. This way I can limit which styles will be available to the client. So far so good.. (Once I figured out the correct syntax..:smartalec:)
