Apple Zen Support Thread

Hi again Jade.

I changed my strategy for the Home page and I am trying to remove the content_bg from it.

I am guessing I need to add something like this in stylesheet.css:
#indexHomeBody [something goes here] {display:none;}

I basically want the Home page to be completely available for graphics and nothing else below the menu.

Thank you...

view the source of your home page, and you'll see what you need to use for [something goes here]

Ah, a learning opportunity!

Can you give me a hint?
I tried several ids and they do not work...

(One of them though I realized I needed it for some other minor tweak I was thinking of (indexDefaultHeading, i removed it)... :)

Nevermind. I gave up and made the whole background color the same as that bar. Which works the same. !

Unresolved stuff...

  1. Any other way to fix the bullets that you know of?
    http://www.saleyla.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_7&products_id=1

  2. How do I change the sort order of the links under the Information tab?
Also, how do I add EZ pages under the Information tab (without having them appear elsewhere)?

  3. In new products the add to cart button is in the center:
    http://www.saleyla.com/store/index.p...e=products_new

How can I push it to the right?

Thanks!

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Ok, I figured out part of question 2 by searching in this thread and tweaking. So now I have the EZ pages appear in the drop down menu!

Now I need to figure out how to change the order of the other menu items, including moving items around between menus... For example, I'd like to move the Site Map link under Home. And push the About Us link to the top of Information... etc.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Here is the answer: edit the tpl_drop_menu.php

So I guess I just have questions 1 and 3 to resolve... 1 being a usability issue...

  1. Is a complicated css and floating issue. I need to redesign the way the product page works. If you can wait a few days, I can upload the file here for you.
  2. I'm not sure what you are talking about.

  2. I'm not sure what you are talking about.

As far as question 1, we decided to stop using the html bullets and use this instead •

So I have to go through all products and change them.

But of course if you wish to re-design, I am sure it will help others. I thought this was a zen-cart specific issue. Are you saying this only affects apple zen users?

As far as question 3, it is a minor thing.

On this page:
http://www.saleyla.com/store/index.php?main_page=products_new&disp_order=1

There is a button called "add selected product to cart"

It is in the middle, I was hoping to push it to the right. Not sure which file that button is related to...

I have a new question:

Is there an easy way to get the large picture we have at the home page (summer collection) to stretch out like the top banner?
http://www.saleyla.com

It looks fine in IE, but in Firefox there is a big gap on the right side. I would like to get that consistent for both browsers... stretch it all out from side to side and maybe also allow for the image to be magnified, just like the top banner...

Or also, it does not have to stretch all the way, as long as the right and left sides are at the same length from the margins for both IE and firefox...

If you wish you can just give me a hint or two so maybe I can try and figure it out... :)

By the way, any reason why on IE the site looks shrunk down a bit?

Thanks!

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hello Jade,

Thank you for making such a wonderful template.
It has been the backbone of my site.
Unfortunately, I did not test thoroughly enough with Internet Explorer 6.
The drop down menu does not function.
I can usually solve all of my issues just by reading the other posts, but this one really has me stumped.
I have done the .htaccess alteration.
I re-uploaded the csshover.htc.
No luck.
I've done a lot of little tweaks, so I've probably messed something up along the way.
Could you please take a look at my site:
http://www.fashionpatterns.com/
Thanks so much.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hello again,

No need to waste your time with me.
I solved the problem.
In my attempts a long time ago to get the menu to look the way I wanted it, I had commented out the first line in stylesheet_header_menu.css:

body {
behavior: url(includes/csshover.htc);
}

So if anyone is as clumsy as I am, make sure to leave that part in there.

Cheers.

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hi,

I always read throught he posts to find what I need, but there is just too much of material for this template, oh and BTW nice template.

Here is my issue: I need to display the following characters in the drop down menu "蚞ȊŽ". And I have noticed that when the page loads and you emediately hoover over the categories the menu drops down to high and the sub menu covers the next item in the main menu. This anomaly happens only on page load. When you hoover on and return to the categories it drops down correctly. :dontgetit

Other than that everything runs smooth.
Thank you in advance...

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

having difficulty with this one. I created a new background image for site-bg.gif. I renamed it as such, yet when I went to save the file -- the background disappeared as if it was designed to do so. what gives?

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hi There,

I've got 2 questions.

1.)
I would like to know how to get my product description on the right side.
Right now, 1 part of the text is on de right side and the rest is underneath the image.
As you can see here:

http://shabbychicscraps.com/boutique/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=4

I've searched the forum, but can't find a good solution.

2.)
I would like to "get rid" of the manufacturer's scroll table.
I much prefer the manufacturer's list to be just like the product list. (categorie table)
How can I change this?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

Hi Jettrue,
I have been using your Apple Zen template for a couple of months now, and I realize I need to reconfigure my header. I would like to add all my categories for the dropdowns ie (Category 1, Category 2, etc...) I noticed you mentioned using "Paul's Edition" for that change. Are there any conflicts with doing this? Will it break anything? I was thinking I could move the My Account, Information, etc. to the sidebox? https://www.paperazzidesigns.com

Re: Apple Zen Support Thread

 I was just wondering if there was any way to get sideboxes on both the sides. I know the template was not designed for sideboxes on both sides , but say I still want it , and am willing to dive into the code , what would be the roadmap i should follow ......

I'm sure there's a way, but the only way for me to tell you how to do it is to do it, and I'm not prepared to do it. :P
