Auction Lister Pro (ALP) Support

Work continues with no real updates. I had a mini-vacation while being forced to switch wireless providers.

I am waiting to hear back from eBay on a couple of issues regarding key/token management.

I am looking into removing the extra task of having to apply, get and maintain your own eBay developer keys.

There may be an issue with removing the keys and automatically generating your token files. I am looking into this now. If I can't get a resolution you will need to manage your own keys.

I've already gotten my own keys from eBay, but having the package a bit more ready-to-go will be, I think, a great asset.
How are the actual mechanics doing? I'm still looking forward to seeing this in action....

Well, the problem seems to be that, I can remove the need for getting your own keys. It's the token generation part. I am not sure that I can have it run automatically using my keys to create a third party token on a remote website.

So, I can do it if I pass your token back to my site and then pass it back to your copy of the software. What a pain. This is probably how it should be done anyway since I have already certified the program. I also don't feel comfortable releasing my production keys to the masses as this would let anyone in the world create an account on production under my credentials. eBay would definitely shoot me for this. Or hang me then shoot me.

Things are getting more and more complicated. It's easy to make one change now that breaks the whole system. (Just look at the complaints on my forums)

I am in the process of making everything modular to be able to support everyone smoothly and without having to maintain 12 different copies of code. (That's the biggest headache right now)

It's progressing slowly. I would rather have you say "oooohhh aaahhhh it works!" than to start cursing me again. :smile:

I can't give you an exact time frame on when it will be done. All I can say is I am working on it.

Has the feature been added to combine merchandise from ebay auctions with your zencart, so the customers can purchase products from ebay and combine there items with items they purchased with you personal zencart shopping cart?

I installed this mod on my testing site, it went very well with no glitches.
when i run the software i get a warning

What i did is the following:

1. I backed up my domain and database from my working site, i got them working on the new location.

2)i installed your software, every thing went fine - thank you.

3. the warning i am getting above has the path to my working site, i looked at all the configure files but i was not able to see any reference to my working site.

my question is, where does the
function _sess_open($save_path, $session_name)
gets $save_path from?

Is it saved in a file? i need to change that since i reinstall again and the same thing.

The session path is set in /alp/includes/configure.php

I haven't been able to duplicate this problem on a clean install on my site.

You can try setting your cache directory to mode 777 or try creating a cache directory in /alp to correct the problem.

If you find out what it is please post a note so I can make the changes. I know Tom is suffering from the same problem on his site.

I hope to have AJAX integrated soon. Work is continuing on this at the main site.

I was able to get the software running without the warnings i was getting before,
I changed
define('STORE_SESSIONS', '');
to
define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql');
In the includes/configure.php

and that is when i got an error saying TABLE_SESSIONS does not exist, i checked the database and it has a table called sessions.

Then i checked your file include/database_tables.php and i found this line
// define('TABLE_SESSIONS', DB_PREFIX . 'sessions');

I removed the comments , saved it , refreshed my browser and i do not see any warnings, i have not tested further but i will keep you updated.

Thanks for the update. Sessions originally gave me problems when I was working on the admin access control panel so I just removed it.

I will make the changes.

On the upside, I recently got the AJAX changes from another person who knows more about it than I do. (Thank God)

I am incorporating that in the next couple of days.

I tested the installation on a Linux, the installation was smooth and i did not get the warning regarding the session which i was getting on the windows server environment.

The only problem installing on a Linux was the eBay Directory, it would not install, i even tried the to run the SQL from the phpadmin, it gave me this error:

The directory problem still exist but i decided to just type in a directory number where the item would be listed, when i submit the auction i get this error

• soap-fault: Auth token is invalid.
• Validation of the authentication token in API request failed.I notice that my production keys are listed under the test keys in ebay.cofig.php!!!
  is it suppose to be that way?
  I checked the keys to make sure there no trailing spaces.

I changed the keys to have them under production and tested again and still got the same error.

Try removing your production keys altogether. I have seen certain cases where both sets of keys are listed but the script doesn't pass in the right variables.

The next release will hopefully have everything done in the administration interface for less headaches.

Have some more AJAX to do on it still. I don't know when it will be ready.

this will do everything you want and more
and once the creases are ironed out this will be awesome mod to have for any zenner
