Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Hi
I've just installed Cherry Zen template all went OK, apart from the problem with the left hand side boxes as you can here, http://www.indigosilvergems.com the Categories are half way down the page.

Anyone know a fix for this, all help welcome.

Thanks.

TBSM:

Hi Jade,
I Decided against the ccs dropdown for now, though i do have a question about this template of yours.

Up along the top, just below the logo, there is a nav bar which came up when i created some categories. (where the ezPages used to be). I would like this bar to be in the same colour as all of the caregory and box headings, but i cant seem to find it anywhere in the style sheets or any other file.

The site is https://www.tbsm.com.au .
Thank you..
Liam.

In the css that section is #navCatTabsWrapper and #navCatTabs

In the admin, under "Configuration", "Layout Settings", change all sidebox widths to 150px (one of them is set to 180px).

You added it in too many places, and none of them were the right place. Remove the background image from all the places you added it, and put it like this instead:

#navCatTabsWrapper {background: url("../images/red/header.gif");}

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Some of the content boxes don't want to show up on the right side or the left, depending on what they are...for instance, I can't put the review box on the left, nor can I put contents on the right. The shopping cart doesn't show up on either side, but only at the top of the page where the template already has a link for it. Can someone explain to me why this is and/or how to fix it?

There's nothing stopping sideboxes from working on either site. Remember that the shopping cart box only shows up when something is in the cart, and the reviews box only shows up on a product page.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

I have a problem with the content boxes-- they seem to have already decided what side (if any) they want to show up on, regardless of how I set them.

For example, the categories box will only show up on the left side, while the reviews box will only show up on the right. Meanwhile, the shopping cart box will not show up on either side.

Has anyone run into this problem? Is there a way to fix this?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

you can change the width of the left and right columns via configuration > layout settings in the admin.

Yeah, but adjustments need to be made in the css as well. In the readme.txt file, there are instructions on changing the sidebox width, it the tips section, #4.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Hello,

I am using the Cherry Zen template. Zencart 1.3.7.

I would like to add a new menu option to the left of the Home button on the menu. I was able to add the option however it moves the other buttons to the right and the last button is displayed on a second line. I would like to have it display all on one row. I have tried changing the CSS in different places but cannot seem to get the width correct to keep on one line.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? I believe there is enough space between the "search" and existing "home" button to add another menu option.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

I am sure this may have been covered, but I couldn't find it.
I needto remove all the links that are in the white lower section of my header box. I have the links I want in the gray strip of the header bar, so it's just the box I'm trying to deal with here.

Also, I would like to drop my logo down closer to the gray header bar once I get the links in the box removed.

my site is in the very beginning stages but you can see what I'm talking about at: http://www.mydzineworks.com/catalog - thank you very much.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

First of all: Great Template.

I did have one customer running at 1154x 864 and that did mess up the layouts (pushed the categories sidebox below the footer and mangled the header). I have used a fixed 1000 pix width to cater for that.
It's a horrible res anyway and I think its just a Dell straight out the box.

I have a question about the checkout modules.

My customer wants the order breakdown on step 3 of the checkout process to be present in the step 2 of the checkout process so that online buyers can see what they are paying for before they have enter their card details.
I didn't think it mattered but he's quite firm on this point.

I did try editing the php modules but I don't really have enough experience of the flow to pick out the variables.

I have included images to help illustrate the point.

Regards

Dave

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Hi,

New ZenCart user here.

I installed the Cherry Zen template and am following instructions in the Read Me Or Else file.

The instructions say "Go to "Configuration" "Product Listing" and change "Product Listing - Layout Style" to "columns". "

However, I do not see the choice "Product Listing - Layout Style" as a choice under Configuration.

Upon more poking around, I found that I need to first install the add-on module for Column Layout / Grid Layout for Products Listing.

So I guess this post is two-part.

  1. Maybe the installation instructions for Cherry Zen should say to first install this module.

  2. If I'm installing this module after the Cherry Zen installation, should I install everything except product_listing.php, which exists in both Cherry Zen and the Column Layout module?

Thanks.
