Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi,

Berserker:

Just wondering, when you process a refund in Protx VSP Admin, is it supposed to show as refunded in Zen Cart admin as well or you have to do it manually?

No, they are separate systems so you always have two steps to carry out when you do a refund.

All the best...

Conor

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Thanks for the reply. Are there other steps I need to do before going live apart from all the testing?

Lastly, how easy is it to upgrade to version 3? Im thinking of purchasing one in the future since I also need to accept Maestro.

Protx just want to see a few successful test transactions so they can verify that you have integrated your shop correctly with their systems.. you should have received an e-mail from them when you signed up with them which outlines what you have to do when you want to go live.

Basically, you have to email a special address and set up a direct debit with them.

All the best...

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi Conor,
I am still using the old version (I will buy the new one when I get this sorted!) and although it was working happily in testing, now I have gone live with the site and it fails at the final stage of the checkout process.
From my site, after entering the card details etc, it tries to go to the following page: https://www.monkeynose.co.uk/index.php?main_page=checkout_process

but this fails as it eventually returns a HTTP408/409 Server error, and states that 'The website is too busy to show the webpage'.

Do you have any ideas why this is happening? Or how I can fix it?

Many thanks!

I'm sorry to say that this sounds like there is a serious issue with your server.

My gut instinct is that you will need to move to a better host.

Unfortunately this problem isn't something that the module itself could cause, there's no way to fix this other than to move server.

Sorry for being the bringer of bad news!

All the best...

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

I've only just moved to this one... I am now with godaddy.com, which I thought would have been a good one to work with.

Interestingly a customer emailed me about this problem, and said that instead of the checkout completion the got forwarded on to the 'contact us' page, which seems really odd.

Grrr.... it was all going so well too. :-(

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

I've spoken with godaddy.com and there is nothing broken on their side and they aren't blocking anything.
The site worked fine at the start of the week when I was testing it.... I don't actually know what to do now. I don't want to re-install ZC... any ideas?

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

I've turned off Protx as a payment option, and the 2 remaining payment options (PayPal and Pay by cheque) both allow me to complete an order without the 408/409 error message.

godaddy should be a decent enough host I think but unfortunately there is something wrong with your setup somewhere.

The module contacts protx using cURL, something the other payment modules you mentioned don't. The 408 timeout errors you are getting mean that something on your server is messed up. There is no programmatical fix for this that I know of.

I'm really sorry but I'm afraid it looks like you need custom programming help or to move servers.

All the best...

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

The problem on goDaddy is they use cURL through a proxy. A search of the forum will give you lots of threads with similar problems.

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Its so weird, because it was working fine at the start of the week before it went live. The only thing that has changed in that time is that I was using only the .co.uk address for my site and have now also pointed the .com over (the .com is not the primary address now tho, as the server is set with the .co.uk as the primary). So both .co.uk and .com reside at the same place.
Other than that, nothing else has changed.
I wonder if that chage over has confused things somehow - perhaps I should have just done a framed redirect for the .com

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi guys,

I have a cart that really needs to go live but it doesn't let customers get past step 2 of the checkout when using the protx module

The error is : -

The expiration date entered for the card is invalid. Please check the date and try again, try another card or contact us for further assistance.

Even when a correct date is chosen. The cart has the commercial Protx contribution installed.

I'm not sure what you mean by going live... I thought you'd been using this module since August last year?

Have you been using Protx in test mode only until now?

I can't see how that would affect things. The problem seems to be occurring when your server attempts to use cURL. Possibly that could be failing if your server's IP address has changed and whatever redirection proxy godaddy is using isn't validating your site etc. I don't know.

I'm afraid that you'll either have to find out how other people fixed their godaddy + cURL problems or contact godaddy themselves.

All the best...

Conor

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi Conor,

You probably remember you helped load the 2.4.1 onto my server. I was testing it and all was working well. My site was so slow I got moved to a new server.
Now protx is playing seems to be playing up.

The not authorised payment come back fine to the site, but the okay message returns the following:

1146 Table 'willkie_designerspecsbypost.so_payment_types' doesn't exist
in:
[select * from so_payment_types where language_id = '1' order by payment_type_full asc]

I am not sure if this is a problem with my database, my zencart configuration or something in your software. The latter I doubt as it was working brilliantly in VSP simulator mode before. I am not sure if it is because I changed my Protx account name from cheapspecs to https://www.designerspecsbypost.co.uk, or if I have to leave the zencart vendor name as testvendor or whatever the default was.

Thanks in advance

Will

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi Connor - hope you read this...

Everything OK with 3.4.2 except for Mastercard use - where everytime the card is being 'declined by the bank'

Zen cart reports:

Your card could not be authorised! Please correct any details below and try again, try another card or contact us for further assistance.

(2000 : The Authorisation was Declined by the bank.)

Protx shows the same decline detail. Can't think what's wrong - I'm using the basic defaults and other cards seem OK.

Anybody got any ideas on this?

regards

I'm afraid that this is nothing to do with the Protx Direct module... it seems to be a table missing from your database.. something to do with "payment types".

All the best...

Is this using the Test transaction mode or Live mode?

If it's in live mode then I'm afraid you'll have to contact Protx, this problem is not caused by the module. If it's in test mode then please be aware that you can only use the test card numbers with the test system!

All the best...

Re: Protx VSP Direct 3.x

Hi Will,

Just to let you know... a quick search of the forum for "payment_type_full" indicates that your problems are being caused by a problem with your installation of the "super orders" module.

So re-installing it might sort out your problems. Hope that helps! :)

All the best...

I had exactly the same problem, turned out it was a problem at the bank (HSBC)! They hadn't enabled on of my terminal IDs (or something like that!)
