Event Calendar v3

falstaffpac:

I'm a little reluctant to post these files because:

  1. It is not my work
  2. I am not a programmer so I cannot offer support

Unfortunately, this script has not received much support lately and I think its pretty cool when it works. So, I've included the code of the 2 files I formatted below. I hope this is enough to get your calendar working. Beyond this, I don't know that I can be of much help..............

I've find an error in /modules/events_calendar_listing.php, quote in your post. This error make an incorrect listing of dates of event of the same month. This is my correction:

Move $events->MoveNext(); in the line 96 below line 108, where is **'text' => $endDate); ** .+

I hope this is useful for someone.

Bye

Re: Event Calendar v3

I am having a strange problem with some of the "back" buttons. If I'll view calendar event (sample on Nov. 3) and go back & forth few time and than later on go to Site Map and/or any other page and click the "back" button I get to this page:

http://skygarden.viana.on.ca/index.php?main_page=events_calendar_include&_month=11&_year=2008&eventmode=eventframe

this is a test site at: http://skygarden.viana.on.ca

Any idea? Is this happening to anyone else??
Tx Veronika

P.S.
I am still interested to modify the "End" to accept time of the event. Any suggestions?

Re: Event Calendar v3

HI Everyone,

OK I am going crazy. I have tried everything from cleaning up the code to all the different versions of the script to debugging etc.

I have even tried that on two different servers but the same problems as I have described before remain.

Can someone that has a working version zip the files and email them? I would really appreciate it.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi falstaffpac

Thanks for your effort but still no difference although at least the stylesheet is working now :-)

For everyone please if you can help will be great as I really want to get this script to work.

First of all I am using the following:

MySQL 4.1.21
PHP 5
Firefox 3.0.3
IE 6.02 (never really use it other than testing)

tested on both linux and win machine(usig wamp) with same results

The problems that I have are:

When try to add new event nothing happens, the page simple reloads the same. When I add an entry through PHPAdmin and then try to delete it does not work.

On the main page the calendar shows now properly but you can not change month. When you click on month then it shows you all the results for that month but when clicking on an event nothing happens. More importantly the dates are all over the place.

The dates is the strangest of all. Have a look at the images below:

In mysql the dates are correct as below:

In admin of zen cart the dates that an event was added is correct but start and end dates are simple making no sense:

Finally in the main site the dates in the calendar and on the drop down menu are correct but on the page itself are not again:

You can also see it for yourself here:

http://www.dollswithsoul.com/dedemarco/ (click on the month to see the events)

Please any help will be appreciated as I am going crazy. I have installed thousands of scripts and nearly half the modules from zen cart without any major problem but this one just does not make sense.

Thanks

Re: Event Calendar v3

Very strange about the dates. When you enter an event are you including a description of the event? When I visit your site, it appears the calendar and events are displayed properly.

If I click on the month hyperlink, it correctly displays the events for that month.

If I click on an event from the calendar, it also displays the events for that month (which is the way it functions for me).

If I click on an event from the events table nothing happens, but this might be because you've not added a description of the event.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Disregard,

I see you have descriptions in your SQL entry. As I'm sure you already know, I'm unable to navigate from the month of November. I'll poke around on my end and see if there is anything different from the scripts I sent you.

Aaron

edited to addd: The only other thing I can think of is the sql patch. That could explain why the dates are wrong in the Events Manager listing but correct from the SQL database and Events Manager. I would try running the tabelenupdate.sql through the SQL Query Executor thingy again.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi Aaron,

Thanks for spending more time on it. I did check the sql and re-uploaded everything both through the install patch in admin as well as through phpadmin but no real change.

In admin now the dates are correct after re-uploading all files again. Nevertheless the rest is the same. I can not help thinking that it is something to do with the select/form functions.

I am having a similar problem since installing the Event Calendar module. All of my back buttons go to

index.php?main_page=events_calendar_include&_month=&_year=&eventmode=eventframe

Annoying but I'm sure there is a fix for it somewhere. If I find it, I will reply.

Thanks!

Re: Event Calendar v3

I am seeking a calendar layout display similar to that used for this support forum, ie http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/calendar.php,

which is an integral part of the vBulletin forum software used by zen cart ie. http://www.vbulletin.com/

I installed the events calendar addon hoping that it would display a large box of forthcoming events (preferably arranged as seven days per row and up to eight weeks hence) in the centre column. In the day boxes, I would like to insert a small thumbnail with caption and links to products catering to future events. I feel this would be a great marketing boon for some.

Anyone tempted? Solutions greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hello all,

Im making ( a relative ) a complete new website. A few ideas are on the site but..... most of the important ideas are not working. :frusty:The event calendar is not working at all, no cms and no interaction on the calendar, also the filter isnt working. These are elemetary items of the website and are very important to work properly.

Anyone have an idea how to get things right? Why does joomla have 12 calendars and zen only one, wich isn`t working properly?

I apreciate alle the suggestions!
Thankx alexander

Re: Event Calendar v3

Í've got the same problem as user HRINFO

  • When I click New Event, nothing happens, the same screen comes back, empty page with the New Event button
  • Clicking on next month or previous month does not work, it keeps displaying the current month
  • also selecting different month in the selection box does not change the month

Running:

  • Zen Cart 1.3.8a
  • PHP 5.2.8
  • MySQL 5.0.41
  • IIS 6.0 on W2k3 sp2

Any help is welcome.

Re: Event Calendar v3

In case this helps anyone out there;

I am running zc v1.3.8a on linux server with php v5.2.8 and mySql v5.0.67 . I'm also using the css menu mod and SEO URL.

I first installed the Calender v1.02 and noticed that the manager did not show up in admin, unless you manually changed the url to calendar_manager.php

I also noticed that other than the heading, nothing else showed up on the calendar page and when I added the calendar to my css menu, it just says: HEADER_TITLE_EVENTS_CALENDAR. I cannot get a proper URL to work.

I overwrote the v1.02 install with v1.01 RCI. this seems to have cleared a lot of the problems, except for 2 things:

  • still does not show up on css menu front end
  • in admin > extras > event calendar some of the fields (image, url, product) and the submit button was missing.
I reuploaded the admin > includes > boxes > event_drop_dns.php from v1.02 and this fixed the missing fields in admin > insert event.

now if I can only figure out why the menu reads funny, I would be a happy camper.

site url

if anyone has a clue I'd be grateful.

Lastly, I'm trying to avoid tables as much as possible. since the calendar shows a listing events by month, I'm going to try and convert tables to div. wish me luck.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Quick question. Does anyone have a working version of the event calendar I can look at? I'm not certain, but right now it only lists events. There is no calendar except in the sidebox, which i have not enabled.

The drop down only shows existing events, nothing by month or other options.

BTW, re-installed v1.02. it now works. i did modify
/classes/calendar.php
/modules/events_calendar_listing.php
per falstaffpac on this thread

Would really appreciate discussing this with someone.

Thanks.

http://www.homebirthrites.com/store/index.php?main_page=events_calendar&_month=2&_year=2009&year_view=0

I have the events calendar installed and this is what it looks like when you select the month. The year view looks good, but this one stops loading just after the pulldown menu...any help? I love this mod :) Thanks!

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi everyone,
Can someone please tell me what I have done wrong with this.

I can create a new event it all goes through with no errors or problems. The sidebox is showing and the page link is there. However, after creating a new event it isn't showing in the events calender or on the linked page.

Also the events calendar page loses all the sideboxes on one side.

This is the link to my site:
http://reiki.spiritconnectionart.com/

Thanks in advanced:smile:
