Event Calendar v3

Hi Slobadog

Are you referring to achieving normal operation or getting the calendar to display a monthly box of events in the centre column?

If the former, I can only say that mine worked straight out of the bag with only the modifications/improvements earlier in this thread. And I have not changed any $HTTP_POST_VARS to $_POST or any $HTTP_GET_VARS to $_GET, nor removed any "require" references.

Re: Event Calendar v3

The later is correct. I'm starting to think the differences between all the instals is in the versions of MySQL and PHP. I'm running fairly recent versions of both. I now (after much messing around) have the calendar doing exactly what I want. When I go live I'll post a link if you like.

Well, if anyone is interested........I think i've been able to addapt this script to a site i've been working with ...i am sooooooooooo a Zenewbie but it works for the site. I'd like to be able to share what i did but i dont even really know enough about all of this to know WHAT files i NEED to share.
Take a look.

~B.

To get the ball rolling, the editable files included in the package are as follows:

admin\events_manager.php
admin\includes\boxes\event_drop_dns.php
admin\includes\boxes\extra_boxes\calendar_extras_dhtml.php
admin\includes\extra_datafiles\events_manager.php
admin\includes\languages\english\events_manager.php
admin\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\events_manager.php
includes\classes\calendar.php
includes\extra_datafiles\events_calendar.php
includes\languages\english\events_calendar.php
includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\events_calendar_defines.php
includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\events_calendar_include_defines.php
includes\modules\events_calendar_listing.php
includes\modules\pages\events_calendar\header_php.php
includes\modules\pages\events_calendar_include\header_php.php
includes\modules\sideboxes\calendar.php
includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\css\stylesheet_events_calendar.css
includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\sideboxes\tpl_calendar_sidebox.php
includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\templates\tpl_events_calendar_default.php
includes\templates\YOUR_TEMPLATE\templates\tpl_events_calendar_include_default.php

In the spirit of zen cart, if you were to make a zip of all of the above files (and any others you may have created) and post same here, I would be more than happy to sift through and document what you have done.

Still drooling!!!

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi folks,

I added the modul event calendar to my website. The problem is, that there will shown no calendar. The picture in the frame shows the headerframe of my site again.

Do anyone have an idea, where the problem or mistake is hidden ??

Behalf you will find the link to my page.

http://www.erotik-dessous-toys.de/edt/index.php?main_page=index&language=en

Also I implemented the following code.

4)Edit includes/templates/your_template/common/tpl_main_page.php

//Add at top first line before "<?php " this code:

<?php if (isset($_GET['eventmode']) && $_GET['eventmode'] == 'eventframe') { require($body_code); }else{ ?>

//Add at bottom last line after "?> " this code:

<?php } ?>

After adding the code my homepage is blank.

Any idea to this to ??

Thank and greetings

Lissy

Re: Event Calendar v3

The standard stock Events Calendar does work as is - one just has to be careful installing it.

However, if you are refering to a variant or something else, could you please be more specific.

Anybody seen this before? I get this on the main calendar page. I'm using ZC 1.37 and the latest version of the Event Calendar

I am having this same issue, and did not see a solution for it. Does someone have a fix for this?

Found a fix to this problem. Posted by Ajeh here.

I first uploaded admin/includes/languages/english/event_manager.php thru my host cPanel and got rid of the TABLE_HEADING... etc... Once that was fix, instead of uploading all the files one at a time, I uploaded them using my FTP software on Binary mode. Everything works perfect now.

Later...

I still have this problem, and do not understand what u mean by this quote.
I am using the template "wallet"
Hope you can help me out.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Hi All

Has anyone got the event calender to 'highlight' added events within ADMIN on the actual customer calender view ?

Not sure if its part of the package but not working on my install.

Cheers

Re: Event Calendar v3

Anyone find a solution to the "back button" problem described in a couple other posts? Its the only issue I have left to resolve, otherwise, the calendar is working well.

Re: Event Calendar v3

DISPLAY YEAR button has been reduced to a single Y. And there is no link. I have noticed on many other sites that they have the same problem. However on Aussie 's site discussed on page 7 of this thread, his works perfectly. Anyone know of a quick fix for this?

I have tried to upload those two modified files, but it didnt help.

Re: Event Calendar v3

Well I have found the erroneous line to be changed in
includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/escort/events_calendar_include_defines.php

define('BOX_GO_BUTTON', '>');
define('BOX_GO_BUTTON_TITLE', ' view selected month ');
define('BOX_TODAY_BUTTON', ' Today ');
define('BOX_TODAY_BUTTON_TITLE', ' view current month ');
define('BOX_YEAR_VIEW_BUTTON', ' Y '); shoud be Display Year instead of Y
define('BOX_YEAR_VIEW_BUTTON_TITLE', ' view selected year ');
define('BOX_NEXT_LINK', 'next_month');
define('BOX_PREV_LINK', 'previous_month');
define('BOX_CLICK_LINK', 'Click for events');
define('FIRST_DAY_OF_WEEK', 0);

Still no link though

Re: Event Calendar v3

I tried to manually type in the url and it worked perfectly:

index.php?main_page=events_calendar&_month=3&_year=2010&year_view=1

So I am guessing that the script is not parsing out the proper url from tpl_events_calendar_include.php located in includes/templates/mytemplate/templates

Re: Event Calendar v3

slobadog:

Oh yeah, breakthrough! Mine was doing the "I'm doing nothing" thing when clicking just about anything. To fix it, I modified the files:

templates/tpl_events_calendar_default.php
and
admin/events_manager.php

Changed all instances of $HTTP_POST_VARS to $_POST and all instances of $HTTP_GET_VARS to $_GET. This got me going to the point where I was able to modify to suit my purposes, I hope it works for you too...

That didnt work for me.
