Display price with VAT/TAX and Ex VAT/TAX

If in doubt use the Admin -> Developer Tools and do a Lookup in all files for DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX

Change the "if (DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX != '0')" to "if (DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX == '1')". To see why, do a checkout and check the final total- the tax is not included.

Final tweak- made a minor change to how the Inc/Ex totals appear in the Shopping Cart (main page)- Before I had them on the same line, now they appear one under the other like all the other areas.

Stylesheet changes (marked in red):

I was trying out your mod yesterday and very impressed !

I did find one a few small problems though.
The problems come when using price modifiers from attributes. If a product has an attribute of lets say size with either normal - at normal price or extra with an additional 3.00 € per unit, the shopping cart shows only the base price without the extra 3.00€ for both the unit price and total units price. The cart total is correct though.

If one ordered a product that is 10.00 € with the extra option +3.00€ the cart will show unit price 10.00€ and next to it total product 10.00€ but will show the correct value of 13.00 € as the cart sub total.( just giving an example without stating both the with and without VAT values) Without the mod selecting an option changes the unit price as would be expected, in this case 13.00€ as unit price.

Also any attribute price options always show up with only the without tax value rather than both with and without VAT to be consistent with the other displays.

I had a look at the link you gave but none of the products use attribute price modifiers.

Any ideas on mods needed ?

WOW! I knew I should have studied computer science at some stage!! This looks like alot of work and programming. Can this be made as a quick install for simple folks? I would like to use this but and hesitant to try and mess with core files . my shop is already live and could use this mod. many thanks for your efforts.

I'll finally get some free time at the end of this week to put this together into a formal contribution (I'm on Christmas holidays). And Jim, I'll have a look at the attribute issue- As I don't use attributes on my site it never occurred to me to check it out.

I'm confused to, a step by step explanation of how to implement this will be very appreciated. This is a very useful mod for our webshop, nice work hem, keep up with the good work.

I have followed the steps here and have successfully (so far) got this working on a site ive developed - https://www.teltech.co.uk

However my client has pointed out, when a product with an attribute is added to the cart it doesnt show the right price in there.

For example, there is a refurbished product at £75 ex.vat this goes in cart and shows ok (75ex.vat, 88.13inc.vat). Then on the same product there is an attribute to choose as new, this is £10 more, but goes in cart as £75 ex.vat as well.

Any ideas???

Am I missing something??? I've just formalised the mod and submitted it as an official contribution so I thought I would have a look a the attributes issue. I check out an attributed product on the demo database (Matrox graphics card) but it would seem that even without my mod the shopping cart does not include the value of the extra attribute in the shopping cart those it does appear in the sub-total.

I did revert my files back, the client needs it to work correctly across all products including attributes. So couldn't keep it that way.

Is there a way to show the excluding tax at the end rather than having all the price applied to the non tax and then displaying the including tax at the end. just want it the other way round.

Craig, this will be because you have set a prefix for your ZenCart tables. You will have to edit the sql file and add this prefix to the table names. Let me know if you need any help.
