Display price with VAT/TAX and Ex VAT/TAX

I installed this mod and all worked fine except that I could not complete checkout. I cannot get to step 2 of 3. I get a blank page.
I reinstalled the original files (thankfully, I backed up my files) and I can complete checkout again (but i am back to seeing just the one price without VAT)
Any solutions?

I get only a blank page, no errors of any kind, no text, nothing. The website is https://www.radubstore.com. but as I said, the site was reverted to the original format, I removed all the the mods that showed the two prices and now it just shows the single VAT-less price. It is a pity, because it looked good and all worked well, but I just could not get to the second stage of checkout.

Radu- do you have ZenCart installed on localhost??? If so can you install the mod there and see if you get the same error. If you do edit your application_top.php (it's in /includes) and switch on error reporting by adding the following line:

define(STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING,true);

before the lines that read:

if (defined('STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING') && STRICT_ERROR_REPORTING == true) {
  @ini_set('display_errors', '1');
  error_reporting(E_ALL);
} else {
  error_reporting(0);
}

This should be at line 52. You will now get a lot of messages appear. Go to your page 2 of the checkout- The last message should be error that is stopping the page from loading.

I reinstalled it and I get the same problem. You can check it for yourself - the website is on-line now.

I did what you said and I get some errors: (I will send them by PM)

The thing is that I am a novice at this and I have no idea where to look or how to fix these. :-(

Sorted, with many thanks to Andrew. The "problem" was not with his mod, it was all to do with my website. Andrew found the solutions and all is fine now.

Would it be possible though, to display prices with tax and add without tax, rather than show without tax and add with tax?

The reason I need this is because when automatic feeds are generated, the generated price is Ex VAT but a few of the sites I submit feeds to insist on a price field which includes VAT.

Would it be much work to swap it around? Can you point me in the right direction please?

I have had a look at this module Include and Exclude Tax in Prices (Nett/Gross)
And it seemed to be for zencart 1.3.8.

I have my store using zencart 1.3.7. I tried my luck to install this on the local test site. It seem to work fine. However, all the TAX calculation seem to not work when you logged in. The TAX are not calculated for some reason.

For example, when you browse the site as a guess you will see

Product A
22.99 Ex VAT
27.01 Inc VAT

But after you logged in, You will see
22.99 Ex VAT
22.99 Inc VAT

The price stay the same which is wrong.

Is there any specific file in 1.3.7 that I should be look at? And if so, Can you please advise how to do it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mentioned that I managed to have it work fine on the local test site. (The price Inc/Ex VAT show correctly before and after logged in). But when I installed it on live site then it didn't work. :frusty:

I just tried to install this mod.

The SQL bit didn't work. I have no db prefix set and found removing the database names worked:

From this:

Also, the excluding VAT bit says 'Ex VAT', but most sites say 'Exc VAT'. I changed this in the IncExTaxMod_defines.php file.

Craig, this will be because you have set a prefix for your ZenCart tables. You will have to edit the sql file and add this prefix to the table names. Let me know if you need any help.

Hi guys, I’m having this same error but I have no idea what to do about it.

Copy & Paste the sql script in Admin>Tools>Install SQL Patches and zencart will add the database and table prefixes.

If you use PHPMyAdmin you'll need to edit the script to reflect your prefixes before you run it.

Just a heads-up. I've submitted the latest version of this mod to Contributions. Version 1.1.0 is a major facelift- I've removed all modifications and overwrites of core files, so the mod is entirely standalone. This should resolve some of the mod clash problems. Also the problems with the weird prices appearing have been resolved.

And last but not least- The display price with tax included and then excluded has been added.

Hopefully the ZenCart mods will approve it shortly.

Downside is if you have been using the previous mod you will need to replace all the core files that that version overwrote, otherwise there will be some extremely amusing effects...
