QuickBooks Merchant Service

Does this add-on allow for products already in Quick Books to transfer to Zen?

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

No, this is just a payment module for zen cart. If you have a quickbooks merchant account, this might be for you.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

Are you aware of any modules that will pull from Quick Books Point of Sale and populate the store?

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

No, that would be too easy:D!

You can export all your items to an excel sheet and then use the Easy Populate mod to bulk upload items. But still, the exported list will need work and reformatting. And this would be an issue for another thread.

There are a few "middleware" products which will do exactly that. They are not free, and it introduces a new middleware application to maintain. Look into Atandra's "T-Hub" and Webgility. They both might do what you are looking for - and both support QB POS up to version 8.0 with Zen Cart.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

Wow, I stand corrected. I assume one still has to do some "manual" work to it as QB product listings most likely do not match zen store category structure nor are any picture references in QB. Maybe the export and Easy Populate is not that bad after all as it is a free solution. I guess now you do have options. The knowledge of the zen community is the real power!!

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

QuickBooks POS does incorporate pictures as part of item detail (and departments as well). Those middleware products are pretty capable, and use the QB API to sync items and orders, including on hand quantities.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

How nice to have the thread so quiet! That means that the add on is working and stable for users. It appears that the module has been downloaded 100+ times since these updates - so it is getting good use it would seem.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

I got this module set up with the AppID, Application Login, and Connection Ticket. My settings are Enabled = True, Desktop, SSL Certificate (i left this blank for testing), Testing = False (it is going into a live QBMS account), CVV2 = True, Payment Zone = none.

Whenever I try to process my own credit card for $0.04 it gives me ```
Your credit card has been declined. Please try another card or contact your bank for more info.

The QB computer has QBMS enabled and the QBMS SDK installed, what else do I need to check to make sure this works?

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

First place to look is in your merchant service account settings. Have you "enabled" web store for your account?

PS - SSL Cert will always be blank for desktop model. That is used for "hosted" model.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

I just tried it again and it worked, didn't change anything. Several tests and it still works. I activated my QBMS account this morning so it could have just switched on.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

Help! I started getting this error thsi afternoon:

  • An error has occurred within our system while trying to process your credit card. Please try this transaction again. If the problem persists, please email [email protected] to place your order.*
I didn't change anything on my site or QBMS, and in fact an order processed fine this morning. This afternoon, nothing works! QB says it isn't them, as the orders aren't even getting to them. So, why would my shop suddenly stop communicatng the orders? I've been using this module succesfully for almost a year, hundreds of orders and no problems until today. Help!!:frusty:

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

What version of the module are you using? Are you using hosted or desktop mode with QBMS? Where are you hosted? Need more to be able to narrow down what might be in play.

Using v1.5 of the QBMS module on Zencart 1.3.8a. I am in desktop mode. I originally installed this in March 2008, and have been fine ever since. Processed hundreds of transactions, a few refunds, etc. In fact, it proccessed an order this morning. This afternoon, a customer calls and complained of the above error, then another customer called with the same error. I have tried to process prders, only to get the same thing. Since my first post here, I have tried to reinstall the module using the info I originally used. I also tried to create another application in QB. Went through the whole thing to create ID, Login, Ticket, etc, still no dice. I d/l'ed your latest release, and even tried that to no avail... The weird thing is, I hadn't changed anything in the cart to make it mess up. QB swears it isn't them, as they aren't even seeing any of the orders. Like I said, it's as if they aren't even getting passed through to QB.... Thanks in advance for any insight!

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

Things seem to point to the host - and it's ability to post outbound to QBMS. Downloading latest is good - as the 1.5 version did not use the correct URL for desktop mode. Are you using cURL? (you should not have to). You didn't mention where your site is hosted. Also - when exactly is that error coming up?

Hard to say without seeing some log data - but symptoms favor this being at the host level, and possibly some change that occured there. As you say - you made no changes to the site, and others are obviously processing with QBMS ok.

I am hosted with BlueHost.com. The error occurs at the end of the checkout process, where you submit your order. As far as I know, I am NOT using cURL. Unfortunately, I won't be able to test if anything fixes it until Friday evening. However, I will contact BlueHost and see if they changed anything. Thanks for your help. Any other thoughts?

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

Check on Fri re. cURL - in the admin/config settings. Then PM me if you still have the problem, or if Bluehost gives you any feedback that's relevant.

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

OK, I am back in business. Had several customers as well as my test transaction go through. Here's what worked...

I got into my Merchant Account last night, and went to the settings page. It had three choices with radio buttons either on or off, they were:

  1. Process CC through Quickbooks,
  2. Process CC through Webstore,
  3. Process CC through Mobile.
I had the first two set to on. I figure, hell, can't hurt to turn the webstore option off then on again, kind of like rebooting, you know? So I turn it off, hit save changes, and when it comes back up, all the options are grayed out, and I can't change a thing. So, I freak, call QBMS, and find out that when you make a change, it takes 24 hours before you can switch back, and another 24 before you can process (the website doesn't mention this, in fact, it states you can change these options as often as you wish). So I complain a bit but basically, I'm screwed. I put my site on maintenance, and forget it for the evening. This morning, I log back in to my Merch Acct to check the settings. Lo and behold, I am able to turn the store back on. So, I do, and go to the quickbooks site where you create the Tickets. Well, last night I had 2, today I had none. So I create a new ticket, paste the number into Zencart, and figure I'll try a test transaction. SUCCESS, it's been working since. I guess the flipping on and off of the webstore cleared whatever error I was having getting QBMS to recognize my site. I don't know, but it's working. Maybe you can glean something from this that will be useful to you or someone else in the future. Thanks for all your help!

Re: QuickBooks Merchant Service

I have just transfered my site again to a linux server (I own the server now yay!) and am having a problem with QBMS module. First I am getting an email error when I hit the Confirm Checkout button. So I turn off emails in the admin and now it is denying every credit card I try (and they are all good cards). I'm on 1.3.8a. I have already remove/re-install the module so it's not that. I've created new ticket number to try and fix that way but no luck. Any ideas?
