QuickBooks Merchant Service

Just making 100% sure here. On CentOS (RHEL), you should have the curl-7.15.5 rpm and not libcurl. Is that correct? On the RHEL installs I have, curl-7.15.5-9.el5.rpm is the current one. I used to have a bunch of debug code to see what values were returned etc., but once things got stable - I removed for cleanliness.

ummm... I am an idiot. I did not have the radio button set for desktop! I looked over it dozens of times and it never clicked...until just now. But hey now I have everything updated on my system! Updated to php 5.2, updated curl, openssl...all of it. Wow simple mistake can be a nightmare!

Are you guys happy with the quickbooks merchant services? I am desperately looking for a good(and cheap) merchant account.

I just started my business and there may be a month that goes without sales so I really don't like those with high monthly costs.

Right now I am paying 3% plus .30 per transaction and no monthly fees. Unfortunately the vendor has fell on hard times and is not transferring my money into my account due to some bank issues they are having.

So now I am out of that money and in a pinch :-[

I was quoted $20 per month; $0.27 + 2.44% per transaction; $0.27 per day (for days when there is a transaction); with a monthly fees minimum of $20.

I assume this is negotiable, since you are forced to call them for a rate quote.

Joshuagodinez - it is not dead, but remember that these modules are not "official" modules built by Zen Cart Development team. They are 3rd party modules supported by whoever writes them or takes them on. In this particular case, the module is very much alive and kicking. The lack of activity in this thread is more of an indication that the module "just works".

It is also tested and working with the latest release - if that is helpful. I've been maintaining this module for some time now, and pretty much continue to do so. But there just have not been any critical changes needed in recent times.

Can you please tell me more about your module and if it works with the latest version of Zen. I read your above comment, but I am kind of fuzzy on how the module actually works. I am looking for something that I can export and import into QB from Zen Cart. Your module seems to be tied into Quickbooks Merchant Services?

Lee - yes, this module is a "Payment Module", in that it integrates with a credit card processing service. There is some work being done to sync with QB for order input (sales orders or sales receipts), but this is strictly a payment module. It offers a credit card option in the order completion screens of Zen which then authorize and charge CC's via QB Merchant Services. You need a QBMS account to use this module.

I have the installed the Credit Card Transactions via Quick book Merchant Services version 1.9a.

1. Hosted or Desktop is set to Desktop
2. I have the Application; ID, Login, Connection Ticket. From quick books merchant services
3. Testing set to False
4. Verify CC with CVV2 to true.

After entering, the Credit Card info and I confirm an order I get the error message:
" An error has occurred within our system while trying to process your credit card. Please try this transaction again. If the problem persists, please email [email protected] to place your order."

Is there a way to get the error number that is causing this message?

In PayPal you could turn on debug mode is there any way to do this in this Module.
Any help or ideas would be welcome, as I know it is close to working.
Do I have to have a SSL cert for my domain if I am using Desktop?

2. You got a production (not testing) setup at Intuit right?

Also, you ask about ssl cert. You DO have correct and signed ssl for your domain right? If the cert for your domain in the shop does not match - there will be verification errors. I'm suspecting SSL issue for you...

I do have desktop at Intuit, and it is setup as production.
I did not know if with desktop if I would need to have a ssl cert for my domain.:cry: I do not have one, will get one next week and see if that fixes my problem.
In reading the instruction, I had a question as to if you needed to have a ssl cert if it was from the desktop and not the server. :oops:I guess that answer is that you need a ssl cert.

Were you thinking of not using SSL to capture CC information? That would not be a good thing at all. You do not need to exchange keys with Intuit for "Desktop", but you do need a correct cert for your domain. Not sure what you were intending - as in self-signed? Or mis-matched?

Get a signed cert for you domain and I think you'll be fine. And it will be a proper setup for accepting credit cards.

I am still getting the following message when trying to process a cc payment.

First of all - you should remove the connection ticket and other personal login information from your post. Not good at all to publish that info.

Second - for desktop, you should not have a pem file listed in "SSL Certificate" for QBMS settings. That is for hosted only.

Finally - in your QBMS account, did you verify that you have enabled the "Web Store" button? That is critical or you will get errors. Please check/verify that setting.

I took out the file name on the SSL Certificate.

I check again to be sure that I have Web Store button selected.

Can you think of anything else?

Some where in the posts I think that I read it should be

The problem was in the curl call when the web server OS is windows

Default line from qbms.php:

curl_setopt($clientURL, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, 1);

Found a sample that stated this should not be so:

The reason that works is because you're stopping SSL cert validation (hence my original suggestion that you had SSL issue). To turn off that verification is a "hack" to make an incorrect SSL cert work anyway, and I do not recommend security eliminating hacks when dealing with credit card data. Do this entirely at your own risk - and accepting all potential consequences - but please do not recommend this as a solution to the QBMS crowd.

Now that's a fix! Nice updated post - and great way to deal with the Windows issue of verifying peers. I may add that as a commented line for windows users to a new interim release. They will, as you did, have to make sure that have a ca-cert bundle and reference it correctly.

I am also thinking of updating the QBMS XML version - nothing serious as it does not use any of the enhanced XML functions - but nice to keep more/less current.
