In somewhat of a panic here - I can't seem to figure out the cause of this problem I'm having with redirect loops. I can't find a consistent way to reproduce this problem and only discover it after several hours of lost business. I'm using v1.3.9h and SSU. I've actually been running them fine together since release without a problem. I'm not entirely sure what has changed to cause this but basically what happens is when a user tries to checkout or login or basically switch from unsecure to SSL, a redirect loop occurs. I've tried many things to resolve this and rebooting my VPS was initially my best guess fix but I've now narrowed it down to Resetting ALL my SSU cache. I've even gone so far as to manually delete the cache making sure nothing is listed. Once I reset the cache, the redirect loops cease. What could be happening and how can I go about fixing?

Is it possible I have a new product or a URL that is somehow creating this issue?

What's odd is that I have no new additions with regard to code to this site.

Sometimes orders come in fine for days and then out of the blue they stop due to a redirect loop issue.

My configure.php is set to use https://www.phytoextractum.com

The redirect loop happens when switching to SSL or my account/login pages.

Happening across ALL browsers.

My SSL is a basic GoDaddy SSL cert, although I'm hosted on my own VPS with spry, not godaddy - have never had any problems.

What happens?? Do birds fly out of your monitor?? do you get errors?? what errors? Are there flames shooting out of your website??? do they happen on ALL pages or just certain pages?? The point is, statements like "it's broken" or "it didn't work" don't give the community enough information to help you.. So help us help you.. Provide MORE information.. and a link to the site is also VERY useful..

What are using as your RewriteBase? Just the slash, or a slash followed by a folder?

Also, was it Simple SEO URL you are using? Because this is the code.

Also note that this mod is probably headed for extinction, as no coder appears to be working on a 1.5 upgrade.* I'll probably switch to the 1.5 Ultimate SEO URL when I upgrade my SSU site below.

Nope, quick fantastico 1.5 test install, SSU didn't work.

The prior required module - module manager - didn't show in 1.5 admin but I managed to manually get it up. But it didn't "read" SSU and I didn't get it up at all. I deleted the fantastico 1.5 zencart test install.

Maybe a coder could quickly adapt these for 1.5 but I cannot. So it's goodbye to SSU for me....

After trying to install this module months and months ago, I got frustrated and gave up on it. The other day I decided to give it another shot, and I'm so, so close to getting it to work right, but I just can't seem to get it there. After an exhaustive and exhausting search of this support thread, I've finally decided to ask for help directly.

The core problem I'm having is that additional images no longer work with Simple SEO turned on. I know this has been covered in previous posts, and I've checked the Exclude List in the Configuration panel, and it's exactly as it should be. For some reason it seems as if the Exclude List isn't working. This led me to check the config.php file. In it, the lines of code dealing with the two exclusion lists are commented out:

//'pages_excluded_list' => explode(',', SSU_EXCLUDE_LIST),
//'queries_excluded_list' => explode(',', SSU_QUERY_EXCLUDE_LIST)
When I tried to uncomment these lines, the site throws a 500 error. This led to an investigation into the .htaccess file which, again, looks exactly as it should, according to the installation instructions and ssu_check.php.

So I'm officially out of ideas. If anybody else has experienced and solved this problem or maybe knows what I'm failing to notice, I would be extremely grateful.

I am running Zen Cart 1.3.8a and installed v3.5.8 of SSU from http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=711 (clicked the Download Latest link)

My URL's are looking great, but when I click Add to Cart on any product, I get an empty Shopping Cart page that says, "Your Shopping Cart is empty.".

Searched the threads over and over and can't find anything. I did add shopping_cart the list of Exclusions, but that did not help. When I turn SSU off, everything works fine.

Originally at first look the urls seem to be rewritten properly on the categories and products, but then when I click on a banner advert that has the old url it does not redirect to the new url, then when you click on the category via the nav bar it gives an error and brings up the old url of the category and says error not redirecting properly.
We have tried clearing the caches and emptied the links_aliases table again and turned Simple SEO back on but still seem to get errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Navigation seems to be working correctly for me, but it looks like you are missing some code in your html_output.php.

Open your current includes/functions/html_output.php

• find the function zen_href_link
• find this line:

global $request_type, $session_started, $http_domain, $https_domain;

Insert these lines below that line:

But these lines are already present in the file.

Taking ‘furniture’ as the example, initially after clearing the caches etc. hovering over the category ‘Furniture’ in the left sidebar indicates the link http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=99 and clicking this category link takes you to http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture displaying the furniture page.

Hovering over the furniture banner advert with the Parasol & Courtyard table indicates the link http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/index.php?main_page=redirect&action=banner&goto=40 and clicking said banner takes you to the URL http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture displaying the furniture page.

I have clicked these links numerous times after clearing the caches and both were found to work correctly.

At some point this is no more the case and whilst clicking the ‘Furniture’ category takes you to http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture clicking the banner now takes you to http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture-c-99.html and displays the furniture page. Clicking the ‘Furniture’ category after this results in the error as the URL associated with the furniture page has at some stage become http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture-c-99.html and the ‘Furniture’ category link is still trying to redirect to http://www.clicknorder.co.uk/furniture.

If anyone can offer any further help would really appreciate it
