Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Iry

As I mentioned before and will repeat here, the module does not require anything. It simply connects your site to moneybookers site.

Anything that is available or not available as the case may be when you use the module is down to your setup with moneybookers.

I suggest again that you familiarise yourself with how moneybookers works.

I have a few queries for you

  1. Do you know what Moneybookers Direct is?
  2. Have you activated it for your account?

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Hi!

I have just installed Zen Cart and the Moneybookers Payment Gateway add-on as well. However, I've ran into an interesting problem.

I tested the system by adding a single 1 euro product in there, i have enabled MB gateway as the only payment option.

I added the product to cart, i went to checkout, got MB as the only payment option, pressed on "Continue Checkout" to go to step 3 and ... i get a blank content area.

Home :: Checkout :: Confirmation >> blank.

I even copied the addon files again to make sure i haven't missed any.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

I can't speculate on what might be wrong. It should be working ok with v2.1.0 of the module on ZC 1.3.8a.

I can only suggest that you go over your settings and files to make sure everything is what they should be. You might also want to test other payment options to see if they work.

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

What is the latest version of the Moneybookers payment module that works with zencart 1.3.7.1 ?

I'm not sure if Module 2.1.0 would work with it

Many thanks

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Hello Everybody,
I also have the moneybookers gateway in my zen cart shop 1.38.
The module works for me except one problem.:shocking:
I offer download products, so if the costumer has payed in moneybookers the status of the order should change to Processed automatically. But it always change to awaiting update. I have done all the settings even in the attribute settings.
If anybody has an Idea how to make that module working I would be more than happy.

Kind Regards
zebolon

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Dear All

I am afraid I am no longer able to provide support for, or updates to, the moneybookers module.

This is due to a fundamental disagreement with the policies on user contributions being implemented by the administrators of the Zen Cart Project.

I do not categorise myself as a coder but just a standard user who has tried to give back to the community and set out to read and learn enough to do so.

It is needless to say, I have found the experience very very satisfying.

However, it is rightly or wrongly my conclusion that the administrators, for what must be very sound reasons, are more concerned with stability for those that have built business models around providing zencart services than with the dynamism and enthusiasm of small time contributors.

I have found this very discouraging and since they have succeeded in completely crushing my naive enthusiasm, I have therefore decided to return to simply using the excellent product they offer like any other user and to limit modifications I am working on now or make in future to personal use only or at most, sharing them outside the framework of this site.

I will continue to improve and maintain the Gallery2 to Zencart Bridge since this is administered on the Gallery2 website where different policies are in place and continue to interact on this forum as any other user.

I hope that the admins and senior members will offer help if and when I need it as they do for users in general and that my disagreement on their approach to contributions and my forceful expression of my honest thoughts on this will not be held as a black mark against me.

To those using or planning to use the module, please note that as the admins have decided it is in the interest of the greater good to hold back the updated version of the module (V3.0.0) submitted on the 12th of September 2008 and that the user community is better off without the improvements or simplifications to using the module I spent my precious time incorporating, V2.1.0 of the module should work fine with V1.3.8a of Zencart if you closely follow the instructions which can admittedly be a touch confusing and thus simplified in the stillborn V3.0.0.

Perhaps someone else not so touchy about the spirit of the open source movement can take the module up and move it forward.

Best wishes.

Dayo

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Oh, what a geat pity...
I have just read all three long pages of posts, and thought you had progressed all this very well, and by the seems of it alone, as all the other posts seem to just be users wanting a sort of finished & easy module to use in thier shops.

I too wish to use more modules like this one to widen the scope of payment for the customer, as I dislike JUST offering PayPal, some use cheques few direct banking unless they already know us.

This Moneybookers was ideal also used through an auction site, where google checkout is so much more confusing to add in.

Our shops I think more than any other module need payment options as some are not available in other countries.

So to sign off I thank you for making such time & effort in this later unreleased version that there are more takers (plus the moans) about a variety of free modules then there appear to be serious coders who like experimenting on the product implementation for the greater good of us all without anything but the occasional verbal praise, as in the commercial world out there its more often all about 'profit' & less about the 'community' (if you follwo my point)

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Well as a follow up to my previous message, I have downloaded the earlier 'official' version as supplied on the main zen-cart pages, & have had no trouble working out how to set this up.
Two comments I would say however, quite minor.

I do get a bit confused when having to load into directories like 'english' when I have a 'custom' and an 'english' so I upload to both, being a bit ignorant of what I should be doing & find it works. My custom folders are supposed to be the overides that took such a long time to understand last year before getting the shop live.

Second point, I have found the moneybookers pending to confirmed go in reverse order to the paypal ones & did make me worry about the download products status upper & lower limits. Paypal go 1-2-3 etc whereas the reverse for moneybookers going 17 downwards?

So what am I missing as for the newer version not released?

Have tested with a purchase up to the point of being asked for adding a password to pay at moneybookers, not that the 'user' had an account, took it quite a way towards acceptance.

Have to now try the Google Checkout if I can follow that one!

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

thats all my customerfs getr too, so its no better than asking them to pay direect intio my own bank account.

But i think its more to do with the type of account you/i have with moneybookers. i am presuming to take money like paypal we will have to have a different level of membership like a merchant, not just as a buyer.

there will be fees involved like paypal.

im favoring google at present.

Re: Moneybookers Payment Gateway

Danyo
Im not using the MB module at the moment but am looking into it. It is a pity that the new version will not be accepted in the contributed modules section. Ive just read every page of this post and can see that you have done nothing but help people. i hope that the mods can see this and work with you so that the codes or whatever the issue for not allowing it get resolved and we can continue to get support on this site for this module.

Maybe you should contact moneybookers and show them some figures on how many people are using the module in zencart, then you may be able to close a deal and get paid for all your hard working contributions. Its in money bookers own interest as people like myself will look for a different payment method which has support.

cheers

I have put up v3.0.0 for any interested.

Thanks a million for this update! It does exactly what I've been struggling to achieve with the previous version - instant processing for downloadable products.

Your hard work is greatly appreciated.
