    Default Email width differs if language changes

    Hallo,

    I am currently using 2 languages in my shop, English and Greek and I am using text emails.

    During the creation of new account, if this is performed in English, everything works fine.

    If it is performed in Greek, the relevant Greek email is sent, however, the width of the email is narrower.

    I have created the folder email/gr copying all the files from email directory but surely this is not the issue ...

    Why is that happening? Is there somewhere an entry which calls other email template than email_template_welcome.html when the Greek language is used? How can I follow what causes this format?

    Kind regards,

    In Zen Cart v1.3.x, the /email/ folders are not used for generating text-only emails. They are only used for HTML-Formatted emails.

    Thus, any and all email content for your text-only messages is contained entirely inside your language files.

    Thank you very much for your answer.

    When I go to Admin -> Customers -> Email and write in english, the email received appears with normal width.

    If I write in Greek, the email received appears with half the width.

    Here is an example:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I assume that this raw text email has nothing to do with the language settings, but I am completely unaware of the parameters that define it. Is there a text-email css file?

    My shop successfully uses UTF8 characters.

    This happens either with Configuration -> Email Options -> E-mail transport method= PHP or SMTPAUTH

    Where do you think I should start looking?

    Kind regards,

    I'm not aware of anything within Zen Cart that will intentionally limit the width of emails composed in a certain language.
    It definitely has nothing to do with the Email Transport Method.

    However, perhaps if you're using lots of multi-byte characters maybe it's treating each multibyte character as multiple characters and using that to limit the length.

    If you change to using HTML-formatted emails for everyone, do the messages come through as desired?

    I have enabled Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails from Configuration -> Email options, I sent both language emails using the rich text area but the result is the same.

    (Whom should I contact to remove my email from the above post?)

    By "the result is the same", are you saying you still received a text-only message? or an HTML-formatted message which was shortened?

    Actually, I have tested the following html code in w3schools:

    Code:
    <html>
    <body style="background-color:yellow; width:600px">
    <p>Look: Colored Background!ewfefert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert wef wef wef we ert ert ert ert ert ert f wef </p>
    <p>φδσ σδφ σδφ σδφ ξνσεδφλ κξχνφωλ κςελπο νκφδχσωλκ νεσςφοπ ιχδφψγλκ νσςεφπο κνχφωλ κνςεσφ πλκμνδφγλ κνσδγλφ κνδφγλξκν </p>
    </body>
    </html>
    In the w3schools editor the result is the following:
    -----------------------------------------------------
    Look: Colored Background!ewfefert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert
    wef wef wef we ert ert ert ert ert ert f wef

    φδσ σδφ σδφ σδφ ξνσεδφλ κξχνφωλ κςελπο νκφδχσωλκ νεσςφοπ
    ιχδφψγλκ νσςεφπο κνχφωλ κνςεσφ πλκμνδφγλ κνσδγλφ κνδφγλξκν
    -----------------------------------------------------

    In the received email I get:
    ----------------------------------------------------
    Look: Colored Background!ewfefert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert wef
    wef wef we ert ert ert ert ert ert f wef

    φδσ σδφ σδφ σδφ ξνσεδφλ κξχνφωλ κςελπο
    νκφδχσωλκ νεσςφοπ ιχδφψγλκ νσςεφπο
    κνχφωλ κνςεσφ πλκμνδφγλ κνσδγλφ

    And this probably means that the whole html issue is neglected because there is no yellow colour in the email, nor the width is respected even for the english text.

    You can't use <html> and <body> tags inside your email content, because those tags are already supplied by the template.

    I tried the following codes, but still no result:
    Code:
    <div style="background-color:yellow; width:600px">
    <p>Look: Colored Background!ewfefert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert wef wef wef we ert ert ert ert ert ert f wef </p>
    <p>φδσ σδφ σδφ σδφ ξνσεδφλ κξχνφωλ κςελπο νκφδχσωλκ νεσςφοπ ιχδφψγλκ νσςεφπο κνχφωλ κνςεσφ πλκμνδφγλ κνσδγλφ κνδφγλξκν </p>
    </div>
    Code:
    <p style="background-color:yellow; width:600px" >Look: Colored Background!ewfefert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert ert wef wef wef we ert ert ert ert ert ert f wef </p>
    <p style="background-color:yellow; width:600px">φδσ σδφ σδφ σδφ ξνσεδφλ κξχνφωλ κςελπο νκφδχσωλκ νεσςφοπ ιχδφψγλκ νσςεφπο κνχφωλ κνςεσφ πλκμνδφγλ κνσδγλφ κνδφγλξκν </p>
    No yellow color and no 600px width. The same result as above. (although at the preview everything seems OK)

    Seems like each language is preformatted.

    Kind regards,
