Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

keep in mind too that a windows server will behave differently than a linux server. You may have better luck trying this on a live server, instead of your computer? (doesn't have to be live on the site, just somewhere on that server ie, a sub-directory)

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

jackie.taferner:

basically, what's happening is it's having trouble finding the fileList.php file, which should be located in the /tempEP/ directory.

But notice that it's looking for the file in this directory: /EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_TEMP_DI/

That tells me that the SQL command did not work in telling the program to search in the /tempEP/ directory.

Maybe you should try hopping into the phpMyadmin and search for EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_TEMP_DI

See if there's a statement defining that variable as "tempEP". If not, you can post what's in there and i'll edit it for you.

Heres whats in the db

Uploads Directory
EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_TEMP_DIR

I can't see how that is causing the major errors throw, as the original 2 warning lines are only there until I click on the prompt to install the files.

Once I do that, the two errors relating to the EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG are gone, and the rest of the dribble appears.

Can I point out that I have now managed to actually download a full file from the EP menu, edit 1 line and re-upload, and it worked ok...

Its just the half a page of dribble, that is coming out of the filelist.php file and being displayed on the admin page that is annoying...

are folks looking to get more fields added to easypopulate by default? If folks want to have certain fields added to the default distribution or even for custom modifications, please let me know.

You can see the current heavily modified easy populate module I am distributing at http://github.com/jrobeson/easypopulate
And if folks want to discuss it with me, join me at

Mike, ok that's great news that it works. now we just have the issue of getting rid of that text.

Here's a couple of ideas that may work:

  1. make sure Javascript is turned on in your browser. See if that fixes the issue.

  2. if not, then just delete all the files currently in /tempEP/.

So after all this discussion.....

could someone please let me know the simple way to add product dimensions v_product_height, v_product_width & v_product_length for the shipping modules

I have the latest ep & patched zencart installed.

Have you installed an additional module (or otherwise modified the code) in order to cater for these additional fields?

These are not standard Zencart fields. Simply "adding" them to the database is pointless, unless you have a whold bunch of PHP code that MANAGES and ADMINISTERS the data in these fields.

That's why I ask... have these fields ALREADY been added to the database, and do you have that "bunch of modified code" installed that manages and administers the data contained in them?

  2. if not, then just delete all the files currently in /tempEP/.

Hi Jackie...

Ok.. I deleted all the files in the tempep directory..

That got rid of all the text and left me with the 2 warning files

Warning: include(C:/wamp/www/zencart/EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_TEMP_DIR/fileList.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\zencart\admin\easypopulate.php on line 2438

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'C:/wamp/www/zencart/EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_TEMP_DIR/fileList.php' for inclusion (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in C:\wamp\www\zencart\admin\easypopulate.php on line 2438*

As the filelist file is no longer in the temp folder, I commented these lines out and they (obviously) disappeared, leaving me with nice clean screen.. :clap::clap::clap:

Small issues however,

If I click on Download complete.csv file, I get a blank spread sheet. :huh:

If I click on Download Model/Price/Qty .csv file, I get just that... good.. :smile:

If I click *Create Complete .csv file in temp dir (Attributes Not Included) * and open that file in the tempep folder, I can see the full listing.

So as a trial, I deleted all the lines, created a few new parts and used that as an upload.. and success... it added the new parts, and metas etc...

So even though I had effectively created a template, I could still not simply download a full listing.

So I would say I am 99.9999% confident all is well, just not sure why i cant download a full listing, and that I have to create on in the tempep folder.

The older version of 1.2.5.4 was opposite, you could click away and download a full list without having to create one first, so I'm not sure if that's still an error, or the way it is in the newer version..

I've installed the ozpost module which calculates the cubic weight.

very very curious that you are able to get the complete.csv by creating in the temp folder, but not by downloading?? to be honest, i have no idea why that would be happening. but at least you're able to access the file somehow.

These errors you've been having are all strange indeed - i'm glad you were able to get it all straightened out. I, too, am skeptical whether everything is working just as it should. just keep monitoring it, and keep regular backups of your database, just in case.

Good luck with your site!!

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

Officially confused. If I am running EP .7 how do I add in the 4 group pricing fields to the in and out? The attached file on this thread does not look at all like the admin ezpop file from .7. This makes it difficult.

I did however attempt to input the required fields after the price entry throughout the admin ezpop.php file and that got me nowhere.

Is there a simple answer. Is this attachment based on a different version of ezpop.

Jimmy,

If you are using a different version, then just carefully follow the instructions at the very beginning of this thread.

Find the name of the field that you would like to add.... etc etc.

Hmmm..

Just when you though it was safe to step into the water..!

Backed up my original ep files and uploaded the latest to the server..

All seemed grand.. no need to comment out lines, or delete the contents of the tempEP folder..

Yippee I thought..

BUT, I cannot download, or create any files..

If I click the download full file, I get a blank spread sheet with all the headings, and the this error on the first row..
*
Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /xxxxx/xxxxxx/public_html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 852*

If I click the Create Full File,

I get a success message at the top of the admin screen, which states the file is in my tempEP folder, but it;s not ..?

And I also get the same warning error

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /xxxxxxx/xxxxxxx/public_html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 852

All that is on line 852 of the file is

*
while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($result, MYSQL_ASSOC)){*

There is a debug log that was created, that has the following in it..

*MySQL error 1054: Unknown column 'p.EASYPOPULATE_CONFIG_CUSTOM_FIELDS' in 'field list'
When executing:
SELECT
p.products_id as v_products_id,

products as p,
categories as subc,

WHERE

Any clues anyone..?? ( in the meantime, back 1.2.5.4...:yuck:)

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

I went back and did it again to the letter although some of these lines quoted in post number one do not correspond with the original document.

I get this error

syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /example.com/html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 13

suggestions?

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

This means there's an error in the PHP code that you have added in the easypopulate.php file.

Take a look at Line 13, and compare it to the other lines around it. The lines you have added should be consistent with the original lines of code.

Is there an extra comma or colon somewhere, or a missing parentheses?

The first line I did was pretty high up. I will try to post it here. As I said I am doing it using .7 and group pricing. Sure seemed pretty easy and nothing for first few hundred lines was touched.

Re: Here's a quick tutorial on how to add fields to easypopulate v1.2.5.4 or 1.2.5.5

JimmyV,

Notcie at the top of your file this code:

// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
"// | This source file is subject to version 2.0 of the GPL license, |"
"// | that is bundled with this package in the file LICENSE, and is |"
// | available through the world-wide-web at the following url: |
// | http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt.                             |
// | If you did not receive a copy of the zen-cart license and are unable |
"// | to obtain it through the world-wide-web, please send a note to |"
// | [email protected] so we can mail you a copy immediately. |
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
"// $Id:easypopulate.php,v1.2.5.4 2005/09/26 langer $"

Whereas the original file has this:

// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
// | This source file is subject to version 2.0 of the GPL license, |
// | that is bundled with this package in the file LICENSE, and is |
// | available through the world-wide-web at the following url: |
// | http://www.zen-cart.com/license/2_0.txt.                             |
// | If you did not receive a copy of the zen-cart license and are unable |
// | to obtain it through the world-wide-web, please send a note to |
// | [email protected] so we can mail you a copy immediately. |
// +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
// $Id:easypopulate.php,v1.2.5.4 2005/09/26 langer $

There are extra quotes " " on some of those lines. (in particular, lines 12, 13, and 20)

You should open the file in a viable HTML/PHP editor, so that you can edit the code appropriately (not Excel, but instead use a program like Dreamweaver). A proper program will show the difference in color on the broken lines of code - makes it easy to troubleshoot; and also will not break the code by adding erroneous items as in this example.
