oz post shipping module help

michellewardley:

Hi Rob,

Have just upgraded my store applied all patches & installed ozpost.

been into admin & enabled etc. (auspost image doesn't load? file properties_http://www.michellewardley.com/*admin_renamed*/DIR_WS_TEMPLATEStemplate_default/images/icons/ozpost_logo.jpg) where can i correct that code? (DIR_WS_TEMPLATEStemplate_default)

ozpost on checkout does not show at all

help!

cheers!

What PHP version is your server using? Do you have cURL enabled?

It looks like you may have two unrelated problems. The icon is a known issue, (but harmless). The inabilty to obtain quotes can be caused by several things, most notibly PHP or cURL related.

Cheers
Rod

ozpost requires PHP5.x (most hosts have this available these days).

Although you (probably) won't have control over exactly which php5.x version your host supplies, the only thing to be aware of is that the upgrade from V4.x.x to V5.0.x, V5.1.x and V5.2.x is very straighforward in that you'll not need to make any changes to your existing zencart installation.

However, if your ISP is offering php V5.3.x then there are a few compatibility problems that need to be addressed by way of zencart patches. I'd see what your host is offering before worrying about this issue.

Generally speaking most people seem to have no problems upgrading to any version of PHP - End users often don't even get a choice in the matter. However a small number of people have experienced a few problems (but I put most of these problems down to incorrectly applied patches, or applying the patches when they didn't need to).

Re: oz post shipping module help

Hi Rod,

Thank you once again for updating the Australia Post Module and helping with Support on the forums .

I have just installed a Fresh 1.3.8a on my Bluehost server:
PHP Version: 5.2.11 (Zend: 2.2.0)
Database: MySQL 5.1.45-log
cURL is Enabled!

After installing your Mod (ozpost_V1-0-2) and go to my Admin and the icon doesn't work, this is the link it is forcing for the icon..
(admin/DIR_WS_TEMPLATEStemplate_default/images/icons/ozpost_logo.jpg)

How can I fix this issue?
This is the same as the previous version of austpost I had on another website, the icon did the same thing?? Oddly enough your logo which is right next to it is working fine :)

Please Help..

Best Regards,

There is a version 1.0.6 floating around in the forums somewhere that has resolved this issue.

Re: oz post shipping module help

Hi Rod,

Thank you for your Quick Response.

After doing a lot of searching, I found the file required to fix the missing icon issue.
I replaced the original (includes/modules/shipping/ozpost.php) file from the ozpost version 1.0.2 with the ozpost.php file I download from the link below:

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=6771&d=1260455739

It removed the icon completely!

I thought I would include it here for anyone else looking for it as well :)

rlexyd:

Yup. That was the fix.

It was discovered that using an icon in that location often had problems if the 'path string' exceeded the length allowed by the database. Removing the icon was a quick, easy and most importantly, harmless solution.

The other option would have been to increase the size of one (or more) of the database tables, but changing the core system to fix a module induced problem isn't the wisest of coding practices (and quite likely to introduce unforeseen and unrelated bugs).

Cheers

As much as I'd like to help you with a specific answer, I can't, because I don't have one.

What I can tell you though is that this isn't really an ozpost problem/question. Any changes you make to the shipping estimator screen will be applicable to all of the shipping modules/methods.

I'm reasonably sure that the default stylesheet contains entries that affect how the shipping etc page is displayed so that would be the first place to start looking. If there isn't a specific setting for the shipping font color it means the color is inherited from the default font - you'll need to add a CSS override.

There are other people in the zencart forums with a lot more CSS experience than I have, so if needed perhaps one of them may be able to help further (but keep in mind that this thread is for the ozpost module and most of those with the experience probably won't be reading it. It may pay to re-post your question into another thread, without the implication that it is specific to ozpost.

Cheers
Rod

Yes. There are two ways you can do this.

  1. Edit the /CUSTOM/tpl_shipping_estimator.php file and replace the disclaimer with a NULL string.

  2. Just delete the /CUSTOM/tpl_shipping_estimator.php file so that the zencart default file is used instead. (This will not only remove the disclaimer, but will also re-add the 'State' dropdown box - which isn't used by the module)

Cheers

Yes, that's the one. :-)

If you are sure the one you have found is located in your CUSTOM directory then it say to delete it. Whatever you do though is don't delete the zencart default file of the same name.
