Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Anyone??? The person i'm trying to help first installed mailbeez 3 weeks ago, she's been though every post on this forum before asking me for help. I got involved a week ago and got no further forward. It was 8 days ago when I first contacted this forum and emailed mailbeez, and i first got a response yesterday, but i had already tried the advice given before even contacting anyone. It's at the point now where the person who runs the shop has lost interest in mailbeez, and i'm trying my best here, but if there's no decent support for mailbeez then it's worrying that should anything else go wrong, it will take another 3 or 4 weeks just to get a response.
I'm going to have to just reccommend that she gives up on mailbeez, it simply doesn't work and support is terrible.

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

I'm really sorry you feel the support is terrible and that the software doesn't work. Of course, neither of those things are true, but I'm sorry you feel that way nonetheless.

Perhaps it would help you to remember that ZC and MailBeez are both open source FREE software that offer FREE support by VOLUNTEERS who take time to help support these products because they believe in them. Just as you and the person you are trying to help have busy productive lives - so do the rest of us. So please get your frustrations under control before coming to the forum and posting a rant. You catch more files with honey than with vinegar.

Now, having said that...I will remove my ZC forum poster hat and put on my MailBeez support hat.

You have been asked if mailhive.php is properly located in the shop root directory and you confirmed that it is.

You have been asked if you can browse to the file. You confirm that you can.

This, combined with the fact that the error you reported (Call to undefined function rss_feed_link() in /home/public_html/includes/templates/lite_grey/common/tpl_footer.php on line 48) has nothing at all to do with MailBeez and is clearly an indication that this store has other problems in need of resolution leads me to ask...what more can we do?

My recommendation is that you identify and resolve the issue causing that error message and then see if the blank pop-up issue still exists with MailBeez.

Try switching your friend's template to the ZC default theme. Does the problem with MailBeez still exist?

If so, please provide the following information:

  • What version of ZC is the store running?
  • What version of MailBeez is installed?
  • What other modules are installed?
  • Do any of those modules rewrite URLs?

Also, please be advised that I don't always receive notifications from this forum when there is a post (I should, but I don't). This is beyond my control.

For best support, please visit the live help desk at mailbeez.com and indicate that we've discussed this issue on the ZC forum so I can identify your issue without you having to once again type out what the issue is.

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

zbdblues:

Having a problem with mailbeez review reminder simple all pop ups are blank, this is also true for birthday greetings.
Thanks mailbeez for responding to my email...the cache directory shows a recurring error: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function rss_feed_link() in /home/public_html/includes/templates/lite_grey/common/tpl_footer.php on line 48
Also, in the mailbeez FAQ it mentions about blank pop ups, suhosin...create a file fix.php and add this: < ?php $_GET["module"] = $_REQUEST["module"]; ?>
Now when I add that, that exact code is displayed in the pop ups, and also at the top of the page /zencart/tools/mailbeez
any ideas?

The issue is solved an was caused by a very restrictive configuration of the php security addon suhosin.

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

I just installed SuperOrders so I could use the batch status update in conjunction with MailBeez, but MailBeez has stopped working after I did a batch status update...? (using review reminders v2.1)

I double checked the order status history table, this wasn't the issue. Not sure what else it could be...

Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Just 'only' noticed that my emails being sent are almost in plain text and look spammy emails. I did wonder why my respose rate had fallen.

Been looking throuh the settings Etc. but not obvious.

In the preview they look good but the actual 'sent' is plain text. Text only is set to 'False'

What have I missed?

Thanks

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Hi rizla,
Find some information how to force zencart to always send in HTML format on http://www.mailbeez.com/documentation/installation/basic-installation-zen-cart-1-3-x/

By default zencart takes the format as configured by the customer.

Please note that your "send copy to" email address must be a registered customer as well since zencart also looks up the configured format for this email.

Cheers
Cord

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Cord-
The order status in the orders table is also updated. I got one result when running mailbeez today, I'll have to look through the orders and see what the numbers should be...

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Important is the date of the last order status, not the date of when the order was placed.
If you have serious intentions to go for premium modules please contact me through mailbeez.com and we will get things sorted out there.

Cheers

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

A question out there for you guys!

How come my list of recipients in pretty much all of my modules only have 1 or 2 people in the list? when there should be hundreds? Can I change a setting to ensure that everyone who is applicable should be on the list?

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Hi Pearce,

You control who is eligible to receive mailings from each module with the settings found within each module. Please provide a list of the modules you are using and I'll respond with the settings you need to adjust for each of them.

Hi Pearce,

typical reasons for orders not showing up are addons, which update the order status, but do not update all tables, I think one of them is superorders. So please check if you have any addon working on your order data.
You might see, that the order status in the overview is not the latest order status in the order status history in the order edit view.

Other reason might be an addon for guest orders, where customer data is removed from the database after the order is stored. This kind of orders won't get listed by MailBeez as well.

cheers

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

At the moment I am just using the "Satisfaction Survey" Module, Please do tell me!

Also..Reason I have been hesitant to use some of the other modules is because they have spelling mistakes in the default email templates which I cant seem to change, surely this has been brought up before right?

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

You can absolutely change the email templates. Check out the email customization tutorial on the MailBeez website for detailed instructions on how to do so.

Regarding your initial post...as I said before, please provide a list of the modules you are using so I can advise you as to how to configure them properly.

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Since MailBeez V2.7 the option "Override Zencart Email Template System" seem not to work anymore: The Email content generated by MailBeez is shown inside the Zencart Email Template.

To make Zen Cart compatible with MailBeez V2.7 please perform following change:

Open

includes/functions/functions_email.php

line 101:

$email_html = (!is_array($block) && substr($block, 0, 6) == '<html>') ? $block : zen_build_html_email_from_template($module, $block);

change to

$email_html = (!is_array($block) && stristr($block,'<html') )? $block : zen_build_html_email_from_template($module, $block);

Background:
zencart checks if the mailcontent STARTS with a html-tag. With MailBeez V2.7 the htmlemailboilerplate template is introduced, which improves the visual presentation of the emails in different email clients. This template does not start with a html-tag.
The code change checks if the template CONTAINS a html-tag, which is a much more flexible approach.

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Hey mate, thanks for that advice...Yes! I do have super orders installed..and edit orders..and many plugins actually, but as far as mailbeez modules, I am only using the 'survey satisfaction' at the moment.

So am I led to believe I need to change code to make way for super orders interfering?

I am using Mailbeez with several modules including 'satisfaction survey' with Super Orders and it is working like it should.

What do you have for the following:

Re: Mailbeez After Sales Modules

Hello
I have been using Mailbeez for a couple of years and I have been quite pleased. I just now upgrade to the Easy Automated Email Marketing V. 2.7.2. I also installed the Facebook review module. The review reminder works fine and I rework the email template so everything is fine with that.

The review reminder Facebook module does not show in the amin area. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
