Preston Elite Template Support Thread

I want to thank you for recommending the Snaf add-on, it works great.
I upgraded my site to 1.5 with the preston-elite template and everything is working fine except for a minor problem.
My web pages all end at the bottom with a banner in the footer #3 position, however the bottom of the page continues to scroll down displaying empty space.
What determines the bottom of the page?

Hi, I am have a major issue trying to get the New products to display FIRST while using the Preston Elite template with the "New/Featured/Special" tab display box on the main page. (sorry I don't know the name of the box). It is the one at the bottom of the template demo. I have the two tabs "New" and "Featured" on through Admin with no problem, but I want to show the New products FIRST, instead of the Featured when on the main page. Even if I turn off the Featured products in Admin and have only the New products tab visible, the box does not load with new products. I have to actually click the "New" tab to display new products. By the way, I do have new products in my store. I am sure it is just a setting somewhere to choose which tab should be initially selected, but I cannot find it after days of looking. Any help would be very much appreciated!

That is really strange. The demo here does not have this problem so my guess is that it is related to a change you have made to the template:

Hi Anne:

I Narrowed down the problem to the Database.**

1. Initially a **Temp site**** and a new Temp Database was created to install 1.5.
   All add-on files were amended to comply with 1.5.
   Temp site works perfectly without the scrolling problem. (select Temp site above)

2. A **NewStore site**and a NewStore database was created. All files from Temp site was copied to NewStore site. ****
   Old 1.39 database was imported into NewStore database and NewStore database was updated to 1.5**********
   **NewStore site exhibits problem scrolling beyond web page content. (select NewStore site above)

3. The Temp site**, free of any problems, was then connected to the NewStore site******************************database and low and behold the scrolling problem surfaced .

Conclusion: Database problem

What Tables or data in the old imported database could cause this problem??******************

I figured out the problem so I want to give you a heads-up for your clients.
It seems that the Shop by Brands list length (manufacturers) if and when exceeds the length of the web page content, scrolling will occur to match the length of the manufacturer list.

Yes, this should not be hard. The module used in the template is based on the home page centerboxes module (edited code to validate). You will need to edit the includes/temlates/preston_elite/templates/tpl_index_default.php file. You can also check the support thread for the home pag centerboxes module.

Hi Anne, thank you for the great template. I have a little problem with the header shopping cart, hope you can help.See attached image, the header is showing code instead of item. I have tried using another template newport_eco, same problem. I am testing on my local Xampp server, could it be the cause of it? Thank you.

Add display:none; to .customerservice-li and .manufacturers-li

You have to add the classes to the bottom of the stylesheet. They are not already there.
