Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

briannyc:

Hi I'm using this template and I'm having trouble... 2 things..

How to change the links that this template to about us, quicklinks

2nd. How to take the numbers completely out of the slider box just want it colors and not numbers inside.

site is "r u f f l e d p a p e r . c o m" I was able to change the wording and display non the drop down boxes but now I just want to change those links to whatever links I desire.

Thanks so much in advance.

Brian

To change the mega menu links you can edit the includes/templates/piccadilly_posh/common/tpl_mega_menu.php file.

You can chagne the look of the slider navigation buttons by editing the includes/templates/piccadilly_posh/css/stylesheet.css file

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

I have updated my mega menu to include more detailed categories from my store (or I have started). What I can't seem to find is how to adjust the words in the drop down menus to be on one line. I can adjust the background of the drop down box just not the words/links. Where do I adjust the size for this?

http://www.sharenmoments.com

Thanks

Add this to your stylesheet_mega_menu.css file:

.mega-menu .levels li a{width:your width in px;}

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi Anne,

First, a great big thank you for all your work. It was a long and plaisant process to go through all of your templates.

I installed Piccadilly Posh on a fresh new install of Zen Cart the latest version. I didn't install anything else yet.

I think I did a good job of installing everything and making all the necessary changes but when I go to Template Selection and select my new template, I get a "The website cannot display the page" error. If I switch back to Classic, everything is working again so I don't think I've messed the Zen Cart installation.

just in case anything on my system might be the issue, this is what we're running on:

PHP Version: 5.2.17
Database: MySQL 5.0.96

could the fact that we are on Linux be an issue or the fact that template said

Zen Cart® Versions: v1.3.8, v1.3.9, v1.5.0

and that we have Zen Cart version v1.5.1 be the issue?

I've checked the FAQ on your website and the EZ tutorials and such and I might just be looking at this for too long and not seeing what's in front of me. If you have any thoughts, I'd truly appreciate the help.

Found my problem. It seems that drag and drop the includes folder doesn't work as described for me cause I found files where they shouldn't have been and some others were missing so I deleted everything, started over but this time inserted each pages and it worked.

Thanks again

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi, having major problems with this template and can't seem to get help on the pica-flor azul site. The help section isn't very comprehensive. I installed the template and all that's showing is the header and a few links. I followed the directions. I just need to know what I might be doing wrong. Seems like other people have gotten this to work and I don't know why i can't. Here is the link to my site so you can see what the problem is:

http://www.thecuterie.com/zencart/

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :(

I do support all of my templates both on my website and here on the forum.

This is not a problem with the template. When you are getting a blank page or part of a blank page you need to check your logs or cache folder for errors and correct the problems.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

Hi Anne,

I know Ive already said thank you, but its worth repeating again... LOL

2 questions for you...

  1. dont ask me what I did... Ive back tracked my steps so many times that I cant see straight... but I did something that cause a tiny gap between the main body of the page and the footer part and its making me nutsy... I really love the all white and would like to eliminate that space... if you can spare a minute:

http://aigui-arts.com/boutique/index.php

  1. Ive tried to make the template be french as well as english but Im messing it up every single time. Do you know of anyone who ddi it? or better yet, do you have some input?

Thanks in advance... hope you aren`t put off by my color choices... LOL

I am not seeing a gap in firefox. What browser are you using?

It looks like you have already translated the template into french. I do know that the template has been translated into many languages, including french, but I can not refer any specific url. Maybe you can do a google search for french sites with the credit "zen cart template by picaflor azul".

Thanks,

Anne

nope youre right, the gap doesnt show in Firefox but it still does in IE... what should I look for?

as for the translation, yes I did it... but what I really need is to leave the files in english and install a french language pack... but some of the files arent in the language english folders per say and that still define some of the text.... and Im unsure how to go about it... I`d like to have both languages at once on the website...

for instance, these files:

includes/extra_datafiles/about_us_filenames.php
includes/extra_definitions/piccadilly_posh/about_us.php
includes/extra_definitions/piccadilly_posh/footer_menu_defines.php
includes/extra_definitions/piccadilly_posh/headermenu.php
includes/extra_definitions/piccadilly_posh/about_us.php

same thing for the files located in html_includes

I tried to create the includes/languages/french.php then the one in includes/languages/piccadilly_posh/french.php... then created the whole french folder... then went to admin, installed that language... and broke the site... never could get it back to what it was and had to start over.

I have very, very limited knowledge but a willingness to try... LOL

Re: Piccadilly Posh Template Support Thread

I changed the size of the logo and it moved the search box into the mega menu. I got help moving that up, but now it's sitting on top of the navigational links Home, Log In, etc.

How can I move those links above the search box?

It also seems that if they were above the search box, it would be a bit crowded. Could I add more overall height to the header to avoid this?

Thanks!

The extra_datafiles files are not language files. Files in the extra_definitions and html_includes are language files, and are in includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/piccadilly_posh, and includes/languages/english/html_includes/piccadilly_posh.

To fix the problem in IE, you can add a new style with the prefix .ie9 (or whatever version number), along with your selector and declaration to the selector that needs to be moved.

Thanks,

Anne

You can move the links and add space to your header by editing the stylesheet.css file.

Thank you! I figured out a way to make it work. Now my only issue is once I removed the logo things in the header got out of place. The whole template shifted down and the search bar got shifted up. Could you tell me what could change to put them where they need to be? I looked at a couple of forum topics, but i can't figure out what to change to make it look right. Thank you again :)

In your styesheet.css file change this:

#navMainSearch {
    float: right;
    margin-top: 20px;
    position: relative;
    z-index: 15000;
}

to this:

#navMainSearch {
    float: right;
    margin-top: 60px;
    position: relative;
    z-index: 15000;
    margin-right: -130px;
}

Thanks,

Anne
