Free Template "Future Zen"

Sorry about that Sanji

The link at the top of the thread dates back to a time when there were problems with the forum and the downloads section wasn't available. The latest version can be obtained from here.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Kuroi,

Thanks so much for your template, i think it looks great.

I have 2 main issues:

  1. My logo image goes to the centre of the header area and then makes my tagline go out of place underneath. How do i align the image so that the tag line remains in the white area it was intended for? I would like the logo to be in the same place as the one in your stock template.

  2. When i maximise my browser window, the header centres but a blue bar beneath it maximises to fit the window. How do i make it in line with the header images? Do you know what i mean by this?!?! lol

Thanks alot for any help in advance. :)

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Please bear in mind that without seeing your site things that are obvious to you may be completely opaque to me. So I don't know what your logo and header image dimensions are, where the whitespace to which you refer is located, what Zen Cart features you have turned on or off or what changes you have made to the template. So I can only give very general advice, and depending upon the above, it might not work.

To move the logo over to the left, you could insert the following into your stylesheet> #logo {float:left}This will normally send the logo to left hand margin and encourage the tagline to ride up beside it.

The blue bar is designed to expand to the full width of your site to sit behind your EZ-Page header links. Your header image however, is most likely aof fixed width. So to align then, you would need to replace the two images that make up the bar witha single image, the same width as the header image and attached to one of the two blocks highlighted in red below. The other should be deleted.> #navEZPagesTop {

background-image:url(../images/link_cap_right.gif);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:bottom right
;
font-size: 0.95em;
font-weight: bold;
margin: 0em;
padding: 0.5em 0 0.5em 1.5em;

}

#headerWrapper {

background-image:url(../images/link_cap_left.gif);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:bottom left
;

}

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Hi - This is a pretty easy one I'm sure but I couldn't find it on the forums. How can I set the width of the Future Zen Template so the main page and all the side boxes and content etc stay at the same width as the header image? Unless there are downsides to having a fixed width over a liquid layout that I'm not aware of? Thank you.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Set the #mainWrapper width to be the same as that for the header image.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Is the current Future Zen template available for download compatible with 1.3.7? My recent install looks like the attached screenshot. It seems to be missing quite a bit. If I screwed it up, no need to diagnose. Just need to know if it's current. Then I can re-install correctly.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Yes, no changes were needed for 1.3.7. You can see it in action for 1.3.7 at the (sorry, site offline) site.

Your screenshot suggests to me that you have all the sideboxes turned off, EZ-Pages turned off and no products. If this is the case, your site will start to come to life as add categories and products and turn features on.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Thanks for the prompt response! Am I smoking something, or doesn't the install by default have those things turned on, and some dummy products in there?

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

You can choose in the installation process whether or not you wish to include demo categories and products.

There is a set of default sideboxes for the default template (Classic), but every template can have its own combination, so when you installed future Zen you start with none. A quick way of setting a load to be on is to go to Admin > Tools > Layout Boxes and click on the reset button at the bottom.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Have you installed Zen Cart? Have you copied the files to your Zen Cart as per the instructions that come with the template? Do you have an address where I can see the state of your site online?

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

I've installed apache, php, mysql, followed the installation instructions and also installed the demo that came with zen cart. At the end of installtion it has two buttons to eiter go to demo store or admin. Admin works fine, but store demo is blank. I've tried using ur templates, thought taht might help, but still blank page.
I'm actually using localhost.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

If you can't see the store after installing Zen Cart, then adding a template isn't going to help. This sounds very much like an installation issue, and I'd recommend seeking help in the installation section of the forum.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Hi I have the template installed all looking good.......well I think so anyway, but i have one last issue that I thought I might ignore up until now, but it's started to do my head in.

tile cap left doesn't seem to be appearing on the page, if the page is loading slowly you can se it briefly appear for a few seconds and then it just goes off somewhere, I suspect I have done something wrong .

See here:
