Free Template "Future Zen"

In doing a bit more research it looks like it's the div tags that are messing it up but I don't know how to fix that so the cart will but all three attributes together. Looked in tpl_modules_attributes and didn't see a solution.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Hi Todd

strokerstees:

How can I bring the two attributes that are too low up to the proper position below the correct one? Also, is it possible to move "Please chose" over to the right above the attributes? It looks the same in both Firefox and IE.The reason that your attributes are getting pushed down the page is because the HTML that your tpl_product_info_display.php file is generating is stuffed full of these<br class="clearBoth" />This class looks like this> .clearBoth {clear: both}and has the effect of pushing the display of anything that follows below the level of anything already displayed. I haven't tried this, but if you created a new style> .clearRight {clear: right}and had your php generate ```
<br class="clearRight" />

The "Please Choose" text is a header which by default is left aligned. To the following CSS would target a change for this heading only> h3#attribsOptionsText {text-align:right}

> I'm learning as I go but it is kinda fun when something actually moves where I want it to. And I am slowly getting it to look a bit different than the usual zencart I hope. (Kuroi-I figured out a way to lose the sideboxes. Just use EZ Pages. I'm sure that's no revelation, but it works for me. lol)I didn't get EZ-Pages at first, but now I'm a huge fan and use them all the time. I even have my own custom templates for them so that I can add extra styling.

> Big wish here; Since I have a big space to the right of the image, is it possible to have the cart display two images, the second being to the right of the "normal" product image? If not I can just weld two pics together and expand the image size in admin.Bear in mind that the gap that appears on your screen may not appear for other users with smaller screens or browsers windows that are not maximised. I wouldn't therefore recommend wleding together two pics, as it simply assumes a different fixed size window. Two images is a good idea. Indeed Zen Cart starts with the idea of a logo image in the foreground and a background image. The background image, if designed for it, can be repeated to fill all the space in any sized browser window. If you prefer you could also attach background images to bother the logo div and the logoWrapper div and position one left and one right.

Yep, you're heading into the right file with tpl_modules_attributes.php. If you haven't already made changes to it, then the lines to change will be 33 and 49.

thanksThanks for your kind comments.

Most of the gap left under your banner is because it is only 70px high, but in the stylesheet there is an allowance of 110px. If you track down the following CSS and adjust the value marked in red, you can control this easily.> #logoWrapper {

width:1000px;
height:110px;
background-image:url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
background-repeat:no-repeat;

}
There are two ways to add text where the header category list (we tend to call them category tabs) was positioned. If it's a relatively short amount of text I would recommend reintroducing the sales text, which you unset in your version of languages/english/header.php and using CSS in your stylesheet to position it where you want.

If you want to put several lines up there, then you would better off editing your version of includes/templates/common/tpl_header.php and inserting it where you want it.

Thanks Kuroi. That pretty much fixed it. However in IE the three attribs are stepped while the show properly in Firefox. Not a huge deal and something I can live with but is there a way to fix this?

Thanks again for the help.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Internet Explorer &$%^ing $&*@#.

We're dealing with form elements here which are the most difficult things to style with CSS because they are specified differently from everything else, many of the things that should work - don't, and much of that which does - works differently in each browser. Firefox is getting this right and although there are several ways of getting something that approximates what you want, I haven't come up with one that is exact, doesn't also affect FF and doesn't change your look slightly.

The easiest and least destructive is to add some line height to the wrapperAttribsOptions class. 16px or 1.6em does the trick. Anything less won't. If that's too much spacing for you, you could reduce your font size and your line height in proportion.

Grrrr Internet Explorer Grrrr

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Thank you for developing an easier template. I bought one and it was junk, because none of the pictures would open up in a complete window, they would always cut off. This one is great, perfect, thank you.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Ladies and Gents,

Would someone be kind enough to look at my cart - https://www.ultimaterigs.sea-angling.org.uk - I have had many problems with my site lately, so did a fresh install, imported my datatbase and then added future_zen template.

I cannot align the overlapping sidebox bottom img, the text goes out of the boxes and the layout is not right - boxes not aligned correctly, spacing from R - L is incorrect.

I have very little hair left(!) any help appreciated,

Cheers!

Jimbo

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Kuroi,
If I wanted to change the colour from blue to a different one, can that be achieved via the css or would I have to create the corner images etc in the colour I want?

Thanks
Pete

The photoshop are elsewhere in this thread. However, before searching for them, you may wish to check out future Zen v1.2 released within the past few hours. I will be submitting the photoshop files for that release to downloads area.

Great, I'll download that right now. It mentions that the upgrade consists of the sliding box, what is this?

Thanks

It's a technique whereby two background images are laid over each other to create the impression of an image which can expand and contract. Once you've installed the new version try changing the size of your browser window and see what happens to the image behind the centercolumn titles.

The answer is in step 4 of the future Zen installation instructions.

God I feel silly now - I was changing things all over the place.

It's the usual "I know what I'm doing and don't need installation instructions" syndrome ;)

Many thanks,

Jimbo

It's what Linda (Aleh) mention as "springy". :D

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Thanks for a nice work. i have tried your templates, and would like to understand the logikk. there is something i wonder.

You know that the header.php read the logo.gif in
encart/includes/languages/english/classic/images right? so which of the files read your sidebox_bottom.gif images?

The reason i asked for this, its just i would like to know how the Zen-Cart works cause i'm new here.

thanks for help!

The reason i asked for this, its just i would like to know how the Zen-Cart works cause i'm new here.Actually future Zen doesn't go near anything to do with classic. It was specially designed to help users avoid using the "Classic" template.

When the future Zen template is used the header will be built in accordance with the instructions in the includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_header.php file. This will include finding the logo whose filename is defined as logo.gif in the includes/languages/english/header.php and since future Zen does not actually have a file with this name, Zen Cart will look for and find it instead in the includes/templates/template_default/images directory.

The sidebox_bottom.gif file is found in a completely different way. When the Zen Cart page is download to your browser, it will point to the includes/templates/future_zen/css/stylesheet.css. This in turn will tell the browser to download includes/templates/future_zen/images/sidebox_bottom.gif and tell it where to display the image file.

I hope that this is helpful.

Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

Keep working at it. It can look complicated at first, and then one day the mist clears and it all seems rather obvious. Welome to Zen Cart!
