I suspected that that might be the case. Look if you've got a Pentium 233 or greater with 64MB of RAM and 52MB of hard drive space, you can run the latest version of Firefox on your ME machine. Don't argue just do it. Your chances of successfully building a site that makes sense to the rest of the world when you're viewing your results through IE5.5 are even less than the % of web browsers still using it (2% during May according to thecounter.com).
Your site looks fine in the less buggy browsers available to me, so you're expending all your effort trying to fix problems that have been created by Microsoft and can only be seen by a small percentage of other web users. And if by sheer persistence you succeed in making your site look good on your screen, that will probably just mean that you've broken it for the rest of us.
I have a protocol that I call the "life's too short" protocol. This would be a good time to adopt and invoke it.
Hello Kurouto (professional),
Shirouto (amateur) here. You were right! Everything seems to appear just fine on IE6, and I'm sure it would be on FireFox as well. I would've ended up breaking the perfect layout appears on IE6 by fixing it to look right on IE5. The funny thing is this Zen-Cart site looks neat now, looks sort of funny on IE5. It makes sense to develop & test with the application and OS environment that are most widely used, but I also believed "don't try to fix if it ain't broken". I was so frustrated, having to look into many things, but it turned out to be a great web development learning experience! I feel I'm still crawling though.
Many Thanks!
Shirouto

Yikes!!! ME has to be without doubt the worst version of Windows since Windows 1! It is awful, and IE5.50!! I would say this is where your problems lay ... I would definatly be upgrading that system to be honest, not least because of the security implications and instability.
I knew someone would say that! I agree with you, it might be the most unstable OS since 98 release. I've been using this ME OS as my Windows application development environment since if the applications I develop run fine on ME (the worst amongst) then it seems to run great on XP and others. I guess the browser was a different story. I didn't think different version of IE would make such a difference. I was also aware of the security holes of IE5, but when I tried to upgraded to IE6 while ago, I remember MS site gave me bunch of security updates to download for IE6, that was laughable! So I stayed with IE5. FireFox used to crash my system for somereason. I know well enough about XP, the Registry structure difference etc., and also the main target of virus authors, but maybe it's about time I got XP!
Thanks,
Not quite terribly Zenned just yet
