Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

If you're adding your images via the admin like the previous post instructed, you will have no problem. To directly upload the images to the server make sure you use the format:

image1.gif (or jpg or any other extension you're using)
image2_01.gif (or jpg or any other extension you're using)
image3_02.gif (or jpg or any other extension you're using)

You will obviously need to substitute image1, image2, image3 with the actually name of the image files.

This instruction only applied if you want to upload additional image directly to the server and have IH2 automatically load them.

like i said in my post when ih2 is NOT installed my addtional images show up just fine. as soon as i add ih2 to my database they poof are gone.

the images are uploaded as you stated (they wouldnt show up when ih2 isnt installed other wise) i just can NOT get them to show up when ih2 is in the data base.

ill try deleting the extra images for one of the products and seei f uploading them through ih2 works that way. i was hoping not to have to do it that way since sooo many of the products have more than one image :(

I have coople smally tiny problems. I have installed the Image Handler 2 to my zencart 1.3

I have my zencart in a folder called /store folder.

1. test images showings as http://www.arthq.com.au/store/store/admin/images/ih-test.png. How and where can I fix this

2. Need a clarification -

When I add a new product and its image, there is an option to add an image of the product 'Products Image:' 'Upload to directory: ' etc . SO do I add the product image there OR after the product details are added I go to the Image Handler 2 to add my images?

AND If only one image is needed to be added and Image handler to handle the other two small and medium images, why is there three upload image options with small/med and large?

Which upload option should I take if I want to upload one image but Image handler to handle the small and the medium images?

3. Where do I configure the 'Watermarks' ?

how do i define the image size for the small/medium/large?

I have tried twice to install IH and I believe I take all the files from IH and copy them into admin then admin/includes and so forth. But every now and then IH has the same file as Zen Cart do I overwrite or do I let ZenCarts file stay in tact. I need help. I want to use IH

I don't think it overwrites any files.. maybe since you uploaded it it asks you again to overwrite it.

You also have to go into Tools > Image Handler2 and click on "Admin" in there, and install it into the DB. it will not function until you do that

when ih2 IS installed i do NOT have any addtional images, as soon as i remove ih2 from the database.. i HAVE addtional images...

anyone else having this issue?

i have the latest ih2 and the latest zencart w/ all updates

This worked for me. Go to Admin-->Catalog-->Product Type-->Product General (edit layout)-->Show Product Additional Images --set this to 1

I can add images and they show, but they don't enlarge when I hover over them.

They also have 'larger image' underneath the image which I would like to get rid of.

to enlarge them, change these:

Product Info - Image Width 150
Product Info - Image Height 120

to the specified height. note that this will change it on the product info page too.. as the hovered image is the same size as the product image on its page

not sure how to do your other thing though, probably a change in the tpl_product_info.php file

After I copy the files out IH folders admin into ZenCart admin I can not even get to the admin page there is an error in Line 12 I believe. I am going to try to reinstall with a clean zen cart

Have installed IH2 on ZC 1.3.5.

After some fiddling I now have the hover working - great addtition.

However, no image resizing is taking place at all.
I see no mention of GD.ImageMagick - where do you define which one you are using and the path - used to be in Config page on the older IH.

Also, oon the product page in admin, there are no options relating to 'Resize image - Yes/No' like there used to be when IH was installed.

Have i missed something? Images are uploading, but SM, MED, LRG are all same filesize.

Sorry - they are not the same size, they are all loading the same image file, from the images directory, so basically the original

stehodges --sounds like you had the same problem > After some fiddling I now have the hover working - great addtition.
Perhaps you could shed some light on my problem with the no hover?

also with your issue of sizing, all your image sizes from small to med look about the same. so there really isnt anything for ih2 to show it being THAT difrent that you might notice... imo. do you have a link to see?

i had issues with the hover too. it took a reinstall of ih2 (just delete it from the data base and reinstall it) a couple of times to get mine working right. something wasnt writing correctly i guess. also, silly question i know, but do you have the js and the css stylesheet for ih2 installed in the directory for the template you are using?

Thanks for the reply and your suggestion. Yes I finally got IH to show the hover...yay. I uploaded the js file to my custom js folder and whala, everything works. I didn't do this from the start because in the zip package the js file was under the template default directory.

With regards to your additional image problem, have you set all the image folders with an attribute of 777? You will also have to set the bmz_cache folder to the 777 attribute as well.

umm... well right now they are set to 755... what would giving premissions for write to group and public do for those folders? and would that leave holes in my cart for those lovely hackers to try to get in?

Yes I know, but these are images. Just a suggestion, since I have had things not quite work right in the past due to these settings.

I just want to get this straight....
Setting for medium images is Product Info?
When the cursor is over the small image, the medium size only shows up.
Can I have a large image show up?
The weird thing that I'm finding is that when I hover over an image, the status bar is showing me a link that seems to be calling for the large image (image_01_LRG.jpg) in my images/large folder.

This is kind of confusing me, so any clarity would really help me.

I am having this exact problem.. I have been using IH2 with 1.3.5 for over a month now without any problems and now suddenly I am getting this error and can no longer add additional previews. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm trying to line my additional images horizontally right underneath my product image. I've tried to adjust this through css without any luck. Any help would be appreciated.

This happened to me when I uploaded an image in the 'browse for large image' field, through IH. I have been uploading all my images through the 'default image' field without any problems.

Worked it out! Our admin had an ampersand in the image filename. Removed it and problem solved.

I was looking throughout this thread, but didn't find "my" concerns: I have ih2 installed on a v135 and 132, in both versions ih2 works good, except that the LARGE photos in the popup are not watermarked. Settings are all done correctly in the admin, did I miss another "little piece of something"?
