Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

thanks for making this happen - I've been waiting for a solution like this for a while.

First of all I cant make any sense of readme file

/* ------------------------------------------------
YahooTreeMenuWithAJAX for Zen-Cart v 1.2.7 v0.3a

author: Andrew Yermakov [email protected]

Released under the GNU General Public License

*/

BEFORE INSTALLING !!!

If you had installed prev. version,
remove please includes/templates/template-default/jscript/on_load/on_load_tree_init.js
It not necessary more.

Installation

  1. Unzip the package, retaining the folder structure.
  2. Go to Admin->Tools->Layout Boxes Controller and enable the new "yahootreemenu" sidebox.

Óñòàíîâêà ñòàíäàðòíàÿ.

  1. Ñäåëàéòå BACKUP.
  2. Ñêîïèðóéòå âñå ôàéëû àðõèâà â ñîîòâåòñòâóþùèå êàòàëîãè.
  3. Â àäìèíèñòðèðîâàíèè ìàãàçèíà â ïóíêòå "Èíñòðóìåíòû"->"Ðàçìåùåíèå áîêñîâ"
    âêëþ÷èòå yahootreemenu

Íà ýòîì óñòàíîâêà çàêîí÷åíà.

Òåñòèðîâàëîñü â IE, Oper'å è FireFox'e.

TODO:

  1. Ïîäêëþ÷èòü SEO.
  2. Ïåðåíåñòè îïòèìèçèðîâàííûé àëãîðèòì ôîðìèðîâàíèÿ äåðåâà â categories.php

so the rest of it gets crazy.. I tried uploading the files according to the folder structure but couldn't get it working. It just displays the heading of the menu and rest is blank. I tried all three different versions I found.. I'm still on 1.27. So if someone could help me out if I missed something from the readme. Thanks

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Hey

Nice module :)

I have a problem.

I have a 3-level menu with a lot of kategories on the tried level so I need it to just expand the first level and not my second level. I want my second level to be normal links even if they have sub-categories .

Anyone now where /what I can edit?

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Have you guys tested this mod with javascript turned off? I just did in FF 1.5 and IE 6, and the menu is not very useful. It displays all top-level cats but they don't expand when clicked. So, there's no way to find sub-cats or get to products.

Does it work this way for others? I just re-read this thread but didn't see anybody talking about this problem. Can somebody please test and let me know if this is a problem with the mod or I have an error somehow?

It works as the regular menu when JS turned off. Please, try it on my demo-site:

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Thanks Andrew. Okay, my categories aren't expanding when JS is turned off. Do you know what I can look at to find the problem?

A long time ago, you helped me to make this change to my code:
.......................
Near that line in the tpl_yahootreemenu.php which you deleted finde the one like this:
$iter_num = count($expanded) < 2 ? 1 : count($expanded) - 1;

And replace it with:
$iter_num = count($expanded);
.......................

(This was for our special circumstances, so other people don't need to do it!)

Could this be the reason?

I think no. Function loadBranch($parent_id, $depth = 0) renders the child branches. So, let debug it.

I take it that this mod works with 1.3.6? It looks interesting.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

anyone please. I'm using YahooTreeMenu for Zen-Cart v 1.2.7 v0.1b. And the subdirectories are open by default.. I'd reaally need to show only the main categories since my layout gets f..d up. Also how can I disable the product count?!

Could you provide the website's URL?

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Okay, I'm officially baffled.

How do you style the selected category? For some reason, right now the selected category is almost exactly the same as the others, only a tiny bit smaller. Kinda strange!

I'm looking through the tree.css, putting in font-size: 5.0em; under all the classes and not seeing any changes! What css class should I be altering?

no. (we're on maintenance, but if you really wish to help I'm happy to send you the url and insert your ip in to our admin.)

Configuration->My Store->Show Category Counts

doesn't help... it was set to false anyway.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

Quick question. The mod is working out perfectly...

but i'm wondering:

On the standard categories sidebox, if you select a category that has subcategories, it will take you to a category page, with the subcategories images.

But on the AJAX, it just opens the hierarchy.

any way to make the categories link to the categories page, as well?

thanks in advance...

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

So i figured out this is the link in the regular categories sidebox -

 $content .= '<a class="' . $new_style . '" href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, $box_categories_array[$i]['path']) . '">';

anyone know how i can implement it into the yahooTreeMenu sidebox?

i just want the category to open the subCategories, AND go to the same page that the normal category box takes you. (a columnar view of the other subCategories)

anyone have an idea?

i would really appreciate it.

Re: Yahootreemenu with ajax.

A follow up question:

Amy shop (http://shop.thebricktongroup.com/) I have the Ajax Menu Mod working except for one detail. The "accessories" category doesn't open to display subcategories in it when I click on it. All the other top level categories display their subcategories when clicked on, but not accessories. What is wrong? Does it have too many subcategories?

Thanks for any help!

you could try recreating the category, like Tajul suggested.

but also, make sure that you're not mixing products and subcategories in the categories. you can only have one or the other...

its been the answer to a few people's problems, so just wanted to throw it out there...

Anyone have any ideas on this one yet? I have to finish up this project, and i really want it to have this mod. But the client insists on it linking to the subcategories page...

is there anyone that knows?
