Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

DivaVocals:

I reported it here.. http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=501758&postcount=252

I tested and re-tested Returns Authorization on half a dozen different sites and have not been able to duplicate what you described in the above post.

The coding for the e-mail(s) (except for the content) is exactly the same as the e-mail from the contact us form, so I'm really at a loss to explain the formatting problem you describe.

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

Having an issue with the Return email not getting sent:(

Installed latest ver (I think how do I check ver #?)

What happens when I go and test RMA form is I fill out info and hit send,
it then goes back to the top of the Returns page and no email is sent?

am getting other emails from pages so I know email is functioning.

Seen a few post with this issue and I thought the latest ver fixes this issue?

hummm, well thanks for checking that it works.
The only thing I changed before I posted issue was I set
"Only registered customers may submit a return request = false"
so that you could test it without creating account.
I'll check this out and see if this makes a diff?

thanks!

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

This looks like a great MOD - but before installing just need to check ...

Does the latest version resolve the issue with the reply to email address that has been mentioned several times in this thread?

confirmation e-mails are sent to the person making the request and an e-mail is sent to the admin (at the e-mail address specified in admin -> configuration -> e-mail options)

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

Hi,

I have installed the mod and in fact, it works as it should. I'm very happy with it. However, as I do not use the State, I do not want the STATE to be required.
Can anyone tell me what I should change or remove from a file to have the STATE not required anymore?
Maby I have overlooked the answer somewhere on this forum, but I am looking for a solution for one and a half day now.

Thanks in advance.

Currently there is no switch to turn this on/off.

You'll need to edit the following files and change the references to "state" in each.

includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/returns.php
includes/modules/pages/returns
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_returns_default.php

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

ScrapbookSuppliesDir:

I hope I don't sound like an idiot - I'm new to ZenCart, and having done a zillion mods for phpBB and Joomla, I am used to installing mods without any read me files.

I found this RMA Mod: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&cPath=40_47&products_id=433

I installed it, using the same structure in which it came and it installed smoothly, and works great with one small hitch. :lookaroun When someone completes the RMA Form the email that comes thru to me only includes the customer's name, order number, item number and amount. The other fields are blank. It does dispatch the appropriate emails to the customer and to the admin though. You can see it in action on my site at: hxxp://www.scrapbooksuppliesdirect.com/shopping (url is munged - change x's to t's).

I hope this post is of help to you all and maybe getting someone to this point you can get me to the finish line.

Jeanne

The admin e-mail you receive should look similar to this one:

From: Customer Name
Email: [email protected]
Phone Number: 555-555-6789
Address: address
City: city
Post Code: zipcode
State: state
Order Number: 1234
Total Value: $5.00
Item Number: 5678
Item Name: Test Item
Action Requested: Return

Reason: Test Item return request.

I also noticed that when logged in and you go to the return authorization page the customer information fields are not automatically filled inas they should be.

Are using the latest version 2.2.2?

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

ScrapbookSupplies:

**AHH! I see where my problem and confusion is coming from! On the page where I got the download from, the link at the top of the page must go to the older version, whereas the newest version (the 2.2 that you were talking about) is down a bit lower. I just assumed that the link at the top right where it says "download now" is the most current. Will try to fix it right now and see where it takes me.

Thanks for your input on it! Am going to leave my original reply (before I found the err of my ways ) in case anyone else has done the same thing.

Many thanks!!
Jeanne**

I noticed this (that the fields were not pre-populated) but thought it was because I haven't processed any orders yet. Oh goodness! This really concerns me.

And... The email (phew!) - this is what it looks like (I was actually going to make a post to see if anyone knew how to customize it a bit so it would be easier to read, so thank you for posting the sample):

From: Email: sales1 @ scrapbookxsuppliesxdirect.com Phone Number: Address: City: Post Code: State: Order Number: 12345 Total Value: Item Number: Item Name: Action Requested: Refund ------------------------------------------------------ Reason: dafadsfdsfs ------------------------------------------------------ Office Use Only: From: Email: sales1 @ scrapbookxsuppliesxdirect.com IP Address: 70.216.85.107 - 70.216.85.107 Host Address: 107.sub-70-216-85.myvzw.com Date and Time: Mon Jun 16 2008 12:08:47 MDT

So, I suppose I have a problem here then - I thought I was good to go on it. It is version 1.3.6

????

The download link at the top right should get you v2.2.2

Re: Return Authorization Module (RMA)

ScrapbookSupplies:

It did, I read it too fast and the site would not let me edit my post again because too much time passed. So I wanted to re-install the mod again before I re-posted to make sure that I covered all of the bases. I looked at it too fast, with too many things happening around me. Once it got quiet I downloaded the package again, then ran thru the mod again, but still have the same problem.

All of the files are in the right place. This time I can't remember which file I edited to change the link name from "returns" to "return authorizations", which is no biggie. It's the rest of it that's making me crazy! eeee!

I will try to run the upgrade and see if that does anything.

Please let me know if anything comes to mind.

Thanks so much for your help,
Jeanne

Make sure you have ALL the files installed. The YOUR_TEMPLATE folder(s) should be renamed to your custom template name (in your case - orange)
