Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

napydred:

I am a little confused on what the best route to take is with all this.

I have zen cart set up and running fine. Of course I want people to be able to pay on my website without knowing they are using paypal. Can someone point me towards a step by step instructional on how to do this. I have done google searches for paypal 2.0 and all that comes up relevant is this thread. please direct me towards the right outlet or break it down for me. Thanks very much can't wait to get this off the ground!

This would allow you to do that. What you need to get it setup:

  1. A PayPal Account
  2. The PayPal 2.0 service added onto your PayPal Account (call Mike)
  3. The Payflow Module installed into Zen-Cart
  4. A bit of time and patience to make it all go as it isn't exactly smooth quite yet

That said, I have this up and working on my site, and it seems to be doing well. It isn't exactly perfect because it doesn't shoot the shipping info over from the Payflow service to the PayPal service (so all the order have a blank shipping address) amongst other, smaller issues, but it does nearly everything that I want it to at a very predicable price.

I'll probably re-evaluate this when 1.3.8 comes out, but for now I am satisfied.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

rechargebaskets:

Hi, I'm new to all this and could really use some clarification. I have installed v. 1.3.7, and have modified it to a level I'm happy with:

http://www.rechargebaskets.com/catalog_zen

I want to accept both credit card and paypal payments on the site, preferably without my customers going to a paypal screen. I am currently signed up on paypal for a website payments pro account. The paypal rep tells me that I can do what I want with payments pro, but some of the threads I read say that zen cart doesn't support that. Is that true? Is paypal 2.0 a way around that? What exactly is the difference between having payments pro vs. payflow vs. paypal 2.0? After sleeping with this manual for a week, I'm so frustrated about grinding to a halt after all that work...

Melissa
Melissa,

This and Website Payments Pro is the major item that PayPal is promoting. It's a solution that does what you've described that your looking for, except for Zen Cart not supporting it yet.

This does pretty much the same thing, in a different way. It basically links the Verisign PayFlow processor (that PayPal acquired a bit ago) with your PayPal account. Zen Cart had a module that already worked with PayFlow (when it was stand alone) and that has been updated to work with it now that it's a PayPal product.

To set it up, just follow the steps above and what comes with the module. Alot a bit of time to testing, and for PayPal to get the account setup for you - neither seem to be very smooth.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

With my other credit card module (linkpoint/yourpay) when the person clicked any field in the credit card fields, it automatically selected the credit card radio button.

I'd like to have the credit card radio button auto-selected when using the payflowpro payment module.

Can anyone help?

Tom

PS

I emailed Michael 2 days ago and as of now my account is active.

RWerksman:

Ha HAAAAAAAAAA! Got it to work! Here was the problem for me:

Line 353

// Send transaction to Verisign Server:
if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_SERVEROS=='Windows') { // for Windows servers only
>
> It wasn't seeing it as Windows. I changed it to the following:
>
> ```
// Send transaction to Verisign Server:
if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_SERVEROS<>'asdasd') { // for Windows servers only

Obviously it would never return asdasd, so it will ALWAYS default to Windows. Everything processed right away once I made the change.

Additionally, I had to change line 82 to:

      if (!file_exists($this->linux_lib . '/libpfpro.so')) $this->title .= MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_TEXT_LINUX_NOT_FOUND;
>
> The function that was there prior doesn't seem to like Windows.
>
>
> I'm in the final testing now. Everything appears to be going well!

Did you ever get this to work?

I tried and I get this error:
**[**QUOTE]Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'com_exception' with message 'Failed to create COM object `PFProCOMControl.PFProCOMControl.1': Invalid syntax \[/QUOTE]
Any ideas? I am desprite! Using the virtual terminal is getting old!
 Thanks for any help!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Sounds like the PayFlow COM object isn't installed on your server. Download the SDK (on manager.paypal.com) and talk to you host about installing it (the COM folder) on the server.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this. After a little bit of work I was able to fix the error 126 "could not execute binary file" only to receive error 139. This error does not tell me anything in the debug email and only says that there was an error processing my credit card, please try again in my shopping cart.

This is driving me crazy and I can't determine any solution because I really have no place to start. Has anyone else run into this error or are there any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I was getting a 2013 error originally. I thought it was a problem with GoDaddy...
So i moved over to bluehost and setup a fresh installation of zen and installed the payflow module. Now I am getting the same errors as you, 139 card is invalid. I tried using a real card in Live mode and the test cards in test mode with no luck, same error in both instances.

I am also stuck at this point, hoping to get my site live ASAP.

My original zen site is http://www.sweettaia.com/zencart

and my fresh install with bluehost is: http://www.taiahairclips.com/zc

If anybody can check this out for me and let me know what to do, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I too have this error and I have actually started a post on this awhile ago and no one was able to help me including the paypal intergration rep or my hosting provider.

According to one of the replies from another member, he claims that after upgrading his hosting services, the error went away. I don't know if that is the problem though.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

This 139 error is killing me! I have over 20 hours into this alone, there are only a few files with the module and I have gone over everyone piece by piece. I'm glad someone else has run into this. Is anybody out there that can give a suggestion of where to start?

I really don't get it and I don't see what upgrading my hosting is going to change. Is it possible that this is just an error with the Test Mode? All my communication settings are fine, that was the initial error (126) and it was fixed only to get this 139 error that tells me nothing!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I forgot to add a SSL and a dedicated IP when I switched hosts. I am in the process of getting them now. I will let you know if that solves the problem.

I added SSL, hoping for the best but it didn't change anything. I needed it anyways so whatever. I have godaddy economy for hosting, although I don't think that is the issue. With any help from the Zen world and the collaboration of minds we should come up with something. Good luck to all of us! I'm not exactly a Zen newbie, but my programming skills are limited... Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Oh yeah, by the way... I am running linux (of course) and I spoke with Michael at PayPal about the issue. He spoke to some people and tech and they had nothing. He pointed me here which is where I started looking and is of course, the best place to go.

Just an FYI, Michael is an excellent help but no need to bother him, they don't have the tech support for Zen yet unfortunately.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I still am unable to get this to work.

However for all of you that are getting errors, realize that you can still use the virtual terminal to complete your transactions. I have been using the cc module and just manually processing the payments. Just thought I would throw it out there!

Good luck!!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I'm really curious since OSCommerce is compatible with Paypal Payments Pro, then why isn't Zen yet? Can't the code for the module or whatever it is be taken from OSCommerce and integrated into ZC? Isn't that how ZC started to begin with? From OSCommerce?

Yes we also use the virtual terminal as a "temporary" solution however, as you can imagine if you have 40 orders a day and having to go back and forth with the email and the order to fill in the CC# on the virtual terminate gets pretty time consuming.
