Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

hedgepig:

We are running paypal express although we do have the merchant account with virtual terminal/website payments pro etc (and pay £20 a month for it)

Now, am I right in thinking that I could use something better (i.e. paypal 2) on our website? I read somewhere that it takes card details without customer even knowing about paypal - i like that idea. Do i already have the account i need? Do I need something else?If you've already signed up for Website Payments Pro, then you'll be able to take credit cards directly on your site without people going to PayPal ... when v1.3.8 comes out along with its Website Payments Pro module built-in.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Hiya,

thanks for that.

Trouble is im not too keen on upgrading from 1.3.7 to 1.3.8 - weve just spent ages (and a lot of late nights) getting it right and with all the modules etc we have on im not sure it would be a particularly good idea? Are we talking major updates or minor changes? I cant find even a vague release date for that either?

Something like an website payments pro module would be much more sensible for someone like us - im a bit wary and have a 'if it aint broke dont fix it' mentality when it comes to upgrades.

Maybe someone can release an 8 day week then I can find more time for this stuff!

regards

Lyn

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

This service is exactly what I've been looking for - so I signed up. Easy enough process. Mike was quite helpful.

I am running into an issue with the module however. When I activate it I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: is_executable() in D:\hshome\f800depo\f800depot.com\store\includes\modules\payment\payflowpro.php on line 82

I believe this line has some sort of Linux checking in it. I am running on a Windows host. If I comment out the line, everything runs smoothly... until I attempt checkout. I get the following error:

** Result code: -1:
There has been an error processing your credit card, please try again.**

I've turned on logging, and nothing in there seems helpful, at least ot my eye.

help!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

That's the wrapping in the forum software. The error is actually all on one line.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Not a problem :)

Just out of curiosity, what is the error it throws up when pfpro and pfpro-file aren't executable? I'm being told that "everything is by default" but I have my doubts...

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I also tried to run this on Windows but had no success. I am in the middle (almost the end!) of transfering to a linux server. I tried several things to get it to work and never had any luck!

Ha HAAAAAAAAAA! Got it to work! Here was the problem for me:

Line 353

// Send transaction to Verisign Server:
if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_SERVEROS=='Windows') { // for Windows servers only

It wasn't seeing it as Windows. I changed it to the following:

// Send transaction to Verisign Server:
if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_SERVEROS<>'asdasd') { // for Windows servers only

Obviously it would never return asdasd, so it will ALWAYS default to Windows. Everything processed right away once I made the change.

Additionally, I had to change line 82 to:

          if (!file_exists($this->linux_lib . '/libpfpro.so')) $this->title .= MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_TEXT_LINUX_NOT_FOUND;

The function that was there prior doesn't seem to like Windows.

I'm in the final testing now. Everything appears to be going well!

I can't see how to add shipping information more accurately than it already does. We are sending the following (note the SHIPTOxxxxx fields), based on their API documentation:

SHIPTOFIRSTNAME
SHIPTOLASTNAME

DrByte,

Is the NAME field the entire name, or the first. When I look at the transaction, I'm seeing the following:

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I am a little confused on what the best route to take is with all this.

I have zen cart set up and running fine. Of course I want people to be able to pay on my website without knowing they are using paypal. Can someone point me towards a step by step instructional on how to do this. I have done google searches for paypal 2.0 and all that comes up relevant is this thread. please direct me towards the right outlet or break it down for me. Thanks very much can't wait to get this off the ground!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Hi, I'm new to all this and could really use some clarification. I have installed v. 1.3.7, and have modified it to a level I'm happy with:

http://www.rechargebaskets.com/catalog_zen

I want to accept both credit card and paypal payments on the site, preferably without my customers going to a paypal screen. I am currently signed up on paypal for a website payments pro account. The paypal rep tells me that I can do what I want with payments pro, but some of the threads I read say that zen cart doesn't support that. Is that true? Is paypal 2.0 a way around that? What exactly is the difference between having payments pro vs. payflow vs. paypal 2.0? After sleeping with this manual for a week, I'm so frustrated about grinding to a halt after all that work...

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Please dont bump.

paypal 2.0 and website payments pro are totally different animals,

paypal 2.0 is the same price point as pp pro however it uses the payflowpro payment module,
you need to talk to michael about this

website payments pro is NOT supported at zen cart yet,
this is shceduled for 1.3.8
