Yes you need to log into your regular paypal account and click upgrade to merchant account. It will take 2 seconds.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Hello, so to clear things up a bit, and I hope Im not too late, PayPal 2.0 includes the Payflow Pro gateway and PayPal merchant account. If you already have a Paypal account, you can upgrade to 2.0.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I think this was mentioned somewhere that ZC will soon support this in the new version, tho I dont know how soon it is.

So right now, Paypal + Linkpoint for me.

I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

Not a clue give Michael a Call,

It is not out of beta yet but he says it is come a long ways.

again for people coming in late is is basically just a way from zen cart users to use paypal payments pro piggybacked on payflow pro but without all the charges associated with normal payflow.

I am strongly considering the change . I have not been very happy with linkpoint/card services international because of the downtime and customer complaints that it isn't working right. I have also read many complaints about the poorly coded API on other forums.

Paypal doesn't really Handel disputes very well but i have never had a payment dispute in almost the three years i have been doing this so i guess I don't care.

Many people have said payments pro is one of the most reliable services out there and cheaper than almost all of them.

It is also nice if you take standard paypal payments so all of your payments come from one source.

Hey Guys,

Just want to reiterate that if you have any questions or are unclear of what Paypal Pro Payflow Edition (2.0) is, please feel free to give me a ring. I was with Verisign when Verisign owned the Payflow Pro product, and am one of the few left from that group here at PayPal.

I did email Michael at paypal, but have not heard back yet (it was only 2 minutes ago!:smile:

Just want to make sure before I make the plunge!

Thanks for your help!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I integrated it for a client a while back, it didn't take long and seems to work fine. However, I took a look at their virtual terminal and didn't like that one bit. There isn't a good way to setup "authorize only" and charge later on after you validate the customer etc.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

saint_legion Thanks for the info.

I have started the integration.... I have Windows and everything has gone fine however when I went to install this in admin>payments I receive this error
\includes\modules\payment\payflowpro.php on line 82
this is line 79-82

   if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_SERVEROS == 'Linux/Unix') {
          $this->linux_binary = DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/modules/payment/bin/pfpro';
          $this->linux_lib = DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'includes/modules/payment/lib';
          if (!is_executable($this->linux_binary) || !file_exists($this->linux_lib . '/libpfpro.so')) $this->title .= MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_TEXT_LINUX_NOT_FOUND;

I know this is probably a stupid question to someone who understands code, but what do I change?

Thanks....

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I wish I would have found this a long time ago. Linkpoint/Card Service fees are astronomical for a small business. It will be my one year anniversary using their service and I was just charged a "Annual Compliance Svc Fee" of $75. On top of the average $50 to $80 monthly fees and on top of the transaction fees I am getting soaked. I've had enough.

I have disabled Linkpoint and I am going to call Michael at 9am this morning and get on board with PayPal 2.0.

Although I have to admit it sounds almost too good to be true after going through the whole Linkpoint fiasco.

I am wondering if I can get that compliance fee refunded if I am canceling. Actually I'll probably have to pay a cancellation fee too.

Lesson learned I guess.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Linkpoint/Cardservices annual compliance service fee is charged every September for the current year's compliance with Visa and Mastercard. Whatever.

I think that IF I would have found this thread a week ago and canceled then I might not have had to pay that fee.

I am definitely canceling their service.

Can't wait to get the 2.0 set up.

p.s. - If anyone else has Linkpoint and has NOT been charged this please private message me.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Can someone please advise/clear this up for me?

We are running paypal express although we do have the merchant account with virtual terminal/website payments pro etc (and pay £20 a month for it)

Now, am I right in thinking that I could use something better (i.e. paypal 2) on our website? I read somewhere that it takes card details without customer even knowing about paypal - i like that idea. Do i already have the account i need? Do I need something else? Im pretty lost on this and advice would certainly be appreciated

regards
