Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

You do not have to do it. Just call Meric, no one else over there is capable of setting up the account apparently.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

this was posted a few pages back

michelle_rvc:

Just to let you know if you are like me and thought PayPal Pro would work for you and applied for the account you can not use PayPal 2.0-

"Michelle, the PayPal 2.0 product is only available to those merchants
who are not in the PayPal Database. The product will not work for you
if you are already in the existing Paypal Database and using PayPal Pro.
The only way I can set you up is if you start a brand new paypal account
with all new info including ssn and bank account.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and since this is a brand new product,
it is currently only available to new existing US merchant base.

I do have 3 customers who started new paypal accounts. One used his
wife, one used his son, and one used her sister to apply for the 2.0.

If that is your option, please let me know, so we can get started.

My reply to that was- Hi,

I applied for the PayPal Pro but I am not using it and I will not be
using it. Does this still apply to me?

His reply was-
Unfortunately the system will still recognize your personal information.
I am sorry. This product will also be available to the existing base as
well, but for the time being, I don't want to give you a product that is
not going to work for you.

Hopefully this will help some of you before you start jumping through PayPal's hoops

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Snark, the shipping button works but you still have to populate the feilds manually. I don't expect it to be automatically populated until the service is out of beta.

As for having to set up a new paypal account, I don't know if Meric is telling you to set up a regular paypal or paypal pro. I would clarify that with him.
I only had a regular paypal account and when I signed up for 2.0 they upgraded my account to a business account. I had my paypal account for 6 years.

that's too bad . I'm sure it wouldn't work with their new multi shipping tool then.

well lets hope they get out of beta asap.

BTW i was working with them on trying to set up my account with 2.0 for a long time and it was always conflicting with the current account that i had set up. after i heard the shipping buttons didn't have the shipping info in them i just gave up.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Previous post re binaries issue resolve (easy);

Have module installed; recognized in the control panel. New problem when testing with credit card test; Result code: 225: The certificate chain did not validate, no local certificate found, Cert Path = /usr/local/somedirectoy/var/certificates/. I have looked and the certificate is in there but don't think I have the right one. Checking with Paypal to confirm assumptions. or permission issues?

Must use the certificate file which downloaded with the php linux pack, ends with .0 Place it into a directory that ends with ~ /certs/ (critical) :) certificate chain now valid.

Now getting problem: Parameter list format error: name, name = COMMENT2

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Hi,
Just read through a lot of these threads. I was going to do card service and linkpoint and then when filling out the application saw there were more monthly fees than what is put on the zen cart promo about it. It added to about $55/month fixed cost. For us as a new business this didn't make much sense so I started considering pay pal. I just spoke with Pay Pal who told me similar things that have been posted about service and rates. I got the link for the module but have not downloaded it yet. I wanted to see if anyone has been up and running with pay pal 2.0 and if the processing has been smooth. Also, I wanted to check to see if zen car 1.3.6 is working ok for people using pay pal 2.0? They told me it would work with 1.3.6 but I want to confirm if anyone knew this first hand.

Thanks!

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Well I have had mine up and running for a few months now. I have it connected to 2 different websites and I still only pay a flat rate of $20 per month. There are no set up fees or transaction fees.
1.37 comes with a new paypal module that DRByte is writing a script for that integrates paypal 2.0 with zen and allows further zen admin functions such as authorize hold, refund and some other things.

If you sign up for paypal 2.0 please contact drbyte for the updated module as the exsisting module may have functionality problems.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I have zen cart 1.3.6 not 1.3.7, will this make a difference? Is there a different module depending on which version of zen cart you have?

Thanks

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Thanks,
I signed up for pay pal 2.0 today and am waiting on verification of my account. Hopefully this will not be too complicated to set up with zen cart.

Do you recommend getting an SSL certifcate along with the pay pal system?

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

The current version uploaded on site (1.3c) has a few typing errors.

Line 399-402 on payflowpro.php

      if ($$this->debug=='ON') $messageStack->add_session("valueA: " . $strA,'error');
      if ($$this->debug=='ON') $messageStack->add_session("valueB: " . $strB,'error');
      if ($$this->debug=='ON' || (zen_not_null($return_value) && $return_value!='0')) $messageStack->add_session('Result code: '.$return_value, 'caution');
      if ($$this->debug=='ON') foreach($output as $key=>$value) {$messageStack->add_session("$key => $value<br />",'caution'); }
should be

      if ($this->debug=='ON') $messageStack->add_session("valueA: " . $strA,'error');
      if ($this->debug=='ON') $messageStack->add_session("valueB: " . $strB,'error');
      if ($this->debug=='ON' || (zen_not_null($return_value) && $return_value!='0')) $messageStack->add_session('Result code: '.$return_value, 'caution');
      if ($this->debug=='ON') foreach($output as $key=>$value) {$messageStack->add_session("$key => $value<br />",'caution'); }

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I just called Meric Turkgolu, I guess he does not work for PayPal anymore.

The person I did talk to said that I had to get a merchant account to use the PayFlow payment module.

Is this true?
