Test Drive Free Templates

kuroi:

If a template's not displaying properly, it's not a great a service. I am very grateful to you for drawing my attention to this oversight.

Happily the Blue Gloss template has been on the site from the start (and hasn't changed since then). It's been hidden as, to avoid proliferation of templates with only minor changes, I only display one of each series and personally prefer Gloss Black. However, in response to popular demand (OK, just one request, but you said nice things about the site so you're popular with me), I have switched on Gloss Blue (and to maintain balance, switched off Gloss Black).

thank you :yes:

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Have added Clyde Jones new ZenCart Zen template to (sorry, site offline). It's a deceptively simple but very calming template.

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

New "Red Passion" template can be viewed at (sorry, site offline). It's a nice looking template with a couple of caveats: although works fine on Zen Cart 1.3.7, it appears to be based on 1.3.0.1 and some of the more recent enhancements are missing; it will also insert a link to the author's site in your footer.

This site is EXTREMELY usefull! I hope you continue to update it. I notice some of the new templates have not been added/updated. I hope you will one day continue work on this site.It is actually maintained pretty much continuously. The Zen cart team are good enough to tell me when there's a new template and I then do a quick assessment of them. Very occasionally they're rip-offs or would be dangerous to users, in which case they come out of the downloads area altogether, more frequently they are just minor changes of graphics or colors from templates already being displayed, in which case I don't bother adding them. But there have been have been a few recently that genuinely add new options that have been included on the site.

That doesn't exclude the possibility that at busy times I might have missed the odd one worth including. In which case, just let me know which you'd like to see.

much appreciatedThere are no contributions used by the site. It's aim is to allow you to see what each template looks like on a clean install.

However, some of the templates have contributions bundled with them, and the converse I suspect, that some contributions were developed for templates and then extracted and submitted as contributions. But it's for the template authors to document these.

Other than that there is a little custom code to do the template switching and add the header and footer, and some minor language changes. And that's all.

To upload your new template just follow the instruction included in either the readme or install file.

You won't lose anything you already have on your site. All you will be doing is changing the look of your site.

download your new template, unzip the file, the files would be clearly indicated as readme.txt and or install.txt

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Ok.I have read the text, But it is a bit shallow in info to let me know how to upload the new template onto my zen cart?
Is there some were on the forum that might have step by step instructions, I am using godaddy, And its not that easy to do alot of things as it is.
I am VERY new to this, And most of the post here are a bit unhelpful to me, As they have a few lines that only someone who knows what there doing can understand. I need step by step instructions till i have done something once,

Thanks alot.......

Not necessarly refering to the above quote, but Clyde may be able to answer this.
I'm testing Rustic template on my server, (also below on a test site - same result) but for some reason, when you click the "Larger Image" on any product, you get the bg.gif showing up behind the item, which distracts from the item itself. I would like to get rid of that background showing up.

Thanks/John

Just a sample site:
http://www.smaarchery.com/megan/

find the following declaration in the stylesheet.css (includes/templates/rustic/css/stylesheet/css) and add the highlighted portion.

#popupShippingEstimator, #popupSearchHelp, #popupAdditionalImage, #popupImage, #popupCVVHelp, #popupCouponHelp, #popupAtrribsQuantityPricesHelp, #infoShoppingCart {
background-color: #ffffff;
background-image: none;
}

Another option would be to make the image your logo instead of the background image.
