Test Drive Free Templates

clydejones:

find the following declaration in the stylesheet.css (includes/templates/rustic/css/stylesheet/css) and add the highlighted portion.

#popupShippingEstimator, #popupSearchHelp, #popupAdditionalImage, #popupImage, #popupCVVHelp, #popupCouponHelp, #popupAtrribsQuantityPricesHelp, #infoShoppingCart {
background-color: #ffffff;
background-image: none;
}

Another option would be to make the image your logo instead of the background image.

Outstanding, worked like a champ...

Thank You

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Could someone please help me....I am an average "Jane" and this is my second posting. The first one was like this :frusty:

I have been looking ALLLLL OVER THE INTERNET TO FIND OUT HOW TO INSTALL A ZEN CART THEME, WITH AN EXISTING ZEN CART SHOPPING CART.

Most have themes that are not cover in the zen cart free selection, which are really an awesome collection.

In that I have absolutely no technical knowledge, it is greek most of what you say to each other as I read the forums, sorry to say and makes me sad. Thinking I need a degree to get a theme on my zen cart. :smartalec:

Does anyone have a step by step, THAT IS EASY for the lay person to understand....on how to install one of the 'currently offered free zen cart templates" (zencart.com/info)? on the zen cart site.....I have an existing basic downloaded shopping cart that I did through my servers cPanel and Fantastico, but it referred my to the zencart.com, free templates....I like the black one, and the homeopathy one. The basic one is sort of ugggly, and don't think many shoppers would feel zennish, more like squeamish. :yuck:

But, don't have an understanding or grasp of how to? Can I do this through my server?

I was reading that I need to have existing files for themes, and use an ftp program and then somehow get them over to the server and into my site. But I need slow and easy to comprehend instructions.

Could someone help? :lamo:

Thank you...I need to be zenned.....:hug:

Most of free templates have install instructions within zip file..
then you need to download ftp program to ftp template/s into
/includes/templates
folder...
Suggest Filezilla as there are instructions/screenshots on how to use this free program
i.e.
http://filezilla-project.org/
Tutorials i.e.
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=143
show structure of template folders within your zencart
install

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Hi, earlier on in this thread there was some mention about the template switcher sidebox....I have some ZC templates in my store and would rather start offering the templates I make for free on a demo site I already have set up, and what Kuroi has set up for his demo site would be perfect for my needs.....after searching the net high and low, there's nothing like that available that I can find, but I would dearly love it LOL

Kuroi, any chance of sharing this or making it into a mod? I am not shy to pay for what I want either if necessary :D

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

I too would be very interested in a template switcher mod !! I have been trying to figure out how the DIY E Stores do it and am going to create some templates for those but it would be great if there was something like that for Zencart.

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

First - thanks for the zencarttemplates site - it's great!

Are there plans to add some of the newer templates to this site? I noticed there are a few added in the second half of 2008 that are not up on the site.

Cheers,
Raina

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Just as an FYI for those that were looking for a template switcher sidebox, there is now one in the free downloads area, I discovered this by accident a couple of weeks ago and promptly forgot to post about it LOL

I have it installed on a 1.3.8a demo site and it works great (this is a test site only, I am in the process of tweaking my current templates LOL) :)

We have a new version sitting on our test server, but it got stuck behind the seasonal client work. I'll take a look, dust it down and see whether it is good to go as a beta.

LOL. It has a pulldown template switcher rather like Rainer's (and a whole heap more) ... watch this space.

I just installed the template switcher and the sidebox won't display (even after turned on thru admin) and my site was reverted to Classic and I cannot change the template thru admin tools template selector. I also altered the template.txt as instructed in the Read Me file.

Any suggestions?

Tina

TinaHi Tina

This is the support and news thread for the Template Demo site. The Template Switcher mod has nothing to do with that site, and isn't the one used on it. I'd be grateful if we could ensure that this thread doesn't wander off into a discussion of the Template Switcher mod. Thanks.

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Announcement

I originally built the template demo system in a few spare hours one Saturday morning because I wanted to compare the handful of free templates available for Zen Cart at the time. I thought it might possibly be of useful to somebody else, so I bought a domain and made it available on a public server.

I never dreamt that it would become so popular and I'm still boggled every time I look at the usage stats. But as more and more templates became available, this little project was becoming increasingly difficult for me to maintain and tedious for visitors to trawl through over 50 templates.

So I've re-written it to make the site easier for me to work with and I hope easier for you to use. You can find it as always at
(sorry, site offline)

Oh, and I've stuck some social bookmarking links on the homepage. Please use them and to help draw to the attention of potential Zen Cart users the great range of free templates available.

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

indeed great upgrade, great demo site, is there any way to add the free templates from testuser? Acadame and Atheme?

Have you visited the (un-official) Zen Cart IRC channel yet?

chris32882:

is there any way to add the free templates from testuser? Acadame and Atheme?These templates didn't play very nicely with the other templates and the old demo template system - not a criticism of the templates themselves, and I can't remember the details, but that's why originally they were left out, and was part of the motivation for re-writing the demo system in a way that could better isolate the demo system from the templates being demo'd.

Atheme is already in there and enabled and used to test the new system. You may have missed it because it's "official" name is iC-Atheme.

Acadame I had missed and will try to integrate today. That will show up as iC-Academe for similar reasons.

Re: Test Drive Free Templates

Where did the "ZJ Black 2" template go?
I love the look and function of it, but its not in the template download section.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks
