attribute pop up images

FavoriteMoviePosters.

I found the post. It is from TestUser at:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpost.php?p=426401&postcount=1527

The answer is to rewrite the tpl_modules_main_product_image.php module. I just tried it and it works.
The original module to be replaced or overridden is located in
zencart/includes/templates/TEMPLATE_DEFAULT/templates.
If you are using a custom template, then you want to put the new version in your CUSTOM_TEMPLATE folder to use the override effect, so it won't be replaced the next time you upgrade Zencart.

Re: attribute pop up images

Thanks for your help. I tried to add that line to the bottom of my stylesheet.css and it didn't do anything. I ended up deleting the words, 'larger text' from the english.php file.

Of course I still had the link, and I ended up deleting:
'<a href="javascript:popupWindow(\\\'' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_POPUP_IMAGE, 'pID=' . $_GET['products_id']) . '\\\')">' .

from:
/zencart/includes/templates/custom/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

..just like you said. You're awesome. Thanks for taking the time to help!

Re: attribute pop up images

I loaded this mod and got it to work after following the directions in this thread. I made an adjustedment to the window.resizeTo height from 84 to 100 because the "close window" was being cut off. This worked great in IE but not in FF. Anyone know why??

Thx Sweet

Re: attribute pop up images

I have read, re-read and read a 3rd time this entire thread. I have done everything I can think of to get this to work and I still can't seem to figure out why my LRG image isn't showing up in the pop up window. I have gone so far as to install the mod on a fresh copy of 1.3.8 (no other mods) and still the same issues. I typed in the physical path to the image and I get not found on server. (local copy) Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening? I have product attributes that could really use this mod, but I need to it work. Any help at all would be appreciated.

.... LRG image isn't showing up in the pop up window. ...Heather

I had the exact same problem. I scrapped all the info after the first 2-3 pages of this thread, went back to the original sript and installed it. The images showing on the product page *have *to be in zen/images/attributes/ and the images that you want to pop up *have *to be in zen/images/medium/attributes/

The names of the pop-ups have to be identical to the ones displayed with the addition of _MED on the end, before the extension. Like this:
(images on the product page) zen/images/attributes/my_image.jpg
(images in the popup window)zen/images/medium/attributes/my_image_MED.jpg

Case DOES matter.

you can see it here, although my zen cart is not live yet.

I think that is all I did to get it to work. I hope this helps.

Re: attribute pop up images

Anyone know how to get the alt text entered for each attribute? When I try to validate my product pages, the missing alt text is causing an error.

Thx Sweet

I like the way my site uses the pop up images, however I just want them
to look a little larger before they get clicked on.

Mine look really small. How do I fix this?

http://www.allforyourwedding.com/~noah/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36&products_id=1744

I just looked at your site. Some of the popups are the same size as the thumbnail and some are twice the size or larger. I think your problem is the original size of image you uploaded to the server. I always upload a larger image and let the system size it down for the thumbnail.

Re: attribute pop up images

The problem on these are that the images were small in the first place.

I guess I will try to put a border around them and see what happens,

I should have said tha I have tried the attributes images mod but am not using it now. You need to have a large image in the images/medium/attributes folder with the same base name as the regular image and a suffix of '_MED'. As I remember, the mod didn't work with the images/large/attributes folder and _LRG image, but I could be wrong.
I have my thumbnails set to 100x100 and I preprocess all the images in Photoshop before I upload them. I set image size to a standard height of 200px and add canvas to make the width 200px. Then I remove the background because I need .gif images (would love to use .png but I'm tired of the hassle with IE6). When I upload to the products directory, my thumbnails are 100x100 and my images on the regular product page are 200x200.

Re: attribute pop up images

Are you saying I could just drop these into one of the folders, just change the file name a bit and they will come up regular size?

I would do that!

Re: attribute pop up images

Funny I see in this thread people looking how to take out the words
But thats what I want under mine...
It was not there with the original install.
Anyway to get it back? Or in for that matter....

Re: attribute pop up images

I was getting a broken link when using 1.02 when clicking on the image. I believe it is related to my SEO URLs based on what I saw in the logs. I did the following and the problem is resolved...

Replace the following in the javascript file...

writeln('<img name="George" src='+imageURL+' style="display:block"> <center>' + imageDesc + '<br/><a href="#" onclick=" self.close();">Close Window</a></center></body></html>');

with...

writeln('<img name="George" src=/'+imageURL+' style="display:block"> <center>' + imageDesc + '<br/><a href="#" onclick=" self.close();">Close Window</a></center></body></html>');

Basically I added a leading "/" in front of the image path.
