attribute pop up images

I am trying to change this so that instead of having to click to enlarge, you can hover over it and the large image will appear. I cannot figure out how or where I need to change it so that it is a mouse over instead of a click.

http://grtcustom5.com/store/cds-c-9/test-p-4 is my test cart/page. (the images i know are crappy - I just did those quickly for testing purposes)

Thanks in advance!!

Image Handler has that effect on images, but I have never been able to replicate it for attribute images, so far.
How or where to change this? Well, there are not many options.
attributes.php has been modified after line 463 by Mike Scott, not much to change there.
So necessarily you will have to look into the javascript in jscript: jscript_dynamic_window_popup.php
I don't have the time to look into this now, maybe later.
If you do come up with a mod., please post here.
Thanks.

Re: attribute pop up images

First, I'd like to thank all the contributors who have written this mod. After having no success with my large image popups via the standard zen cart, I found this mod by searching the forums. Now I have installed the latest release, v. 1.0.3 by ckosloff. It all sounds so nice, but I am not having any success.

My problem is thus:
I have named my images appropriately, placed them in the right folders within my images directory. On my site the thumbs and the medium images show nicely. The problem is that, when I click on a thumb image, I do get a popup, but it is just a repeat of my page with the sidebar in the center -- no image. :(

That is exactly what I could do before adding the module. I was wondering if, perhaps, I am not compatible since I am using zen cart ver. 1.3.7, but I tried the earlier versions of the mod first and they gave the same result.

This leads me to believe there is some code somewhere in my own directory that is preventing the images from entering my popup. Does anyone have any idea where I need to look for this and what I would need to change? It is obviously not something wrong with the mod since I get the same result just using the standard popup built into zen. I found this mod while trying to find a solution. I was elated to think I had found the answer, but now I'm back where I started.

My page can be seen at
http://www.store.stitchinthyme.com
There is only one test product up while I try to work out this problem.

Any help would be appreciated. If this is not the right thread to ask in, I would appreciate advice on where to take my question. I know nothing about php and can only compare the files I'm using to the same one in the originals. I've managed to fix some things this way, but this has me stumped. I've been working on it for two days straight.

Re: attribute pop up images

I have one more question on this attributes images mod I have looked and looked at the admin > catalog > option name managaer. There is so much discussion on how to set that. No matter what I choose, it makes no difference in my broken popups. I was even confused as to what those settings were for until I realized that most web sites offer products with choices of colors, sizes, etc.

My site is for selling a collection of one of a kind items. There are no special options from which to choose, only a variety of views of the item. I have a row of thumbnails that I need to enlarge to show details.

Is this mod something I can use for this or do I need to have a list of attributes in a drop down or button menu or list for it to work?

This mod is for attribute images only.
For additional images you need to use Image Handler 2 or Fual Slimbox.

Just take a look at my site, I'm rebuilding the whole thing as we speak, but you will see the functionality.
I use IH2, Lightbox, and this mod for attributes.

Re: attribute pop up images

Hi everyone and thanks to all for the attribute pop up which I have downloaded and successfully input multiple images.

My site is http://cablemaster.com.sg/ecable and click on Categories, Data Network, Keystone Jack and UTP Cat.5E Jacks. I have made COLOR as an attribute and have 2 choices - White Keystone Jack and Black Keystone Jack, both set as attribute. In each attribute I have 5 images but these are just images and not to be chosen from but just to show different images of the same item choice.

In the Admin, Catalog, Option Name Manager, I have specified the Option Type for the attribute White Keystone Jack as Read Only and the Attribute Style for Radio Buttons/Checkbox as 0. My site now shows the 5 images in a horizontal row but on top of this row there is a column which shows :

Image 1
Image 2
Image 3
Image 4
Image 5

Is there a way to remove this as it is very unsightly.:unsure:
The same problem also for the Black Keystone jack

Thanks

Your attributes are not set up right.
I think that you are confusing products with attributes.
Option Name can be something like color, size, etc.
Option Value is the second part of the pair, you have to have both for an attribute.
e.g. First you create Option Name Color,
Then, for that Option Name, you create a value: red.
Then in Attributes Controller, you add the attribute to the product.
That's all there is to it.
If you still have trouble with this check the tutorials/FAQ, and the Manual.
Everything is clearly explained there.
This is not related to how the mod works, you still have to learn how to set up products and attributes.

Re: attribute pop up images

In the other parts of my site I have set up products and attributes without any problem.

However in this part, I want to show 2 product choice ie. (a)White Keystone Jack and (b)Black Keystone Jack. Each product will have 5 additional images to show different parts of the product and to be able to enlarge the image.

How best can I achieve this.

Thanks for your help.:unsure:

You cannot nest attributes or products.
Each product has to be shown on its own page, with its attributes.
That is where your problem lies.

ckosloff:

blag,
I ran into trouble with your mod after installing Image Handler, the pop-up when hovering over images stopped working and resumed upon uninstalling the mod.
Any clue how to fix this?
Thanks.

FIX for conflict betwen
Zen_LightBox 1.5 and Image Handler 2
Image Handler's hover popup stops working when Lightbox is installed.

Simply move the Lightbox javascript files from your custom template folder

to the defult template folder.

Specifically; Move the Lightbox files,
zen_lightbox_mootools_custom.js
AND
zen_lightbox_mootools_default.js
from
templates/YOURTEMPLATE/jscript/
to
templates/template_default/jscript/

Re: attribute pop up images

Hi ckosloff, sorry to trouble you, I have a new site I am trying to get up and running.

I have followed the instructions and put the files in all the correct places, but it doesn't work for me - I get thumbnails but no pop-up is generated.

In Firefox nothing happens when you click the thumbnails, but in IE I get a script error in the status bar -

Message: Object expected
Line: 1
Char: 1
Code: 0

I have tested that the images are all in the correct places and are accessible. I am using a classic-based theme, called classic_foo, I have put all the files in the right places, I also tested with Classic and it does the same thing (i.e. nothing!).

I am assuming this is something simple that I am doing wrong, hope you can help.

Regards,
Colin.

-edit

actually, comparing your site to mine, I seem to be missing this line -

<script type="text/javascript" src="includes/templates/template_default/jscript/jscript_imagehover.js"></script>

Re: attribute pop up images

OK - I have read through the last 2 pages and can't seem to find the answer to my problem.

I have installed the latest version of this module and things seem to have gone smoothly for the most part. On most of the attributes it seems to work perfectly. However, check out this page:

http://www.finefittings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=90_94_130&products_id=580

Notice - All the attributes seem to work EXCEPT the first three. I have checked to make sure these attributes were labeled properly ending in _LRG and are located in the correct file. I have even relabeled and reloaded them under different names thinking there might be a name conflict in the jscript for a attribute value. I have also tried changing the attribute value on the product. The only things I think I have not tried is changing the actual picture being uploaded - but I doubt the module would have a problem with the number of pixels being loaded.

I get the same result every time - most of them work, but some of the attributes will not show a picture no matter what I do to that attribute. Also, you might notice that that attribute does not work no matter what wig that attribute is used on. I am beginning to think there is something wrong with the picture itself even though they are all jpeg pictures and the same size.

Any insight into this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: attribute pop up images

Make sure the image you are uploading for these have the proper extension and there are no spaces or special characters in the name. When you look at the properties of the images that are not displaying it doesn't have a complete image name.

http://www.finefittings.com/images/large/attributes/R4

Whereas the images that do show up are complete

http://www.finefittings.com/images/large/attributes/R830GINGERBROWNsm2_LRG.jpg

Have you tried rearranging the sort order of these to see what happens? If you do that and it's still the same 3 images then I bet something is wrong with the images. If you do it and it's still the first three in the set, then it must be something else. I don't know what, but at least you would be one step closer to figuring it out.

Re: attribute pop up images

First, try opening the images in a graphic editor.
A great free one is the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program), there are versions for Windows and Linux.
If you get errors like "unsupported file type", image is corrupt.
Then try case-sensitive: .jpg is not the same as .JPG or jPg.
Next try retyping the name, there may be hidden characters in there, no spaces, don't use separators like slash / comma, etc.
You can use a hyphen-, underscore _ is better reserved for extensions.
Then rename the large version exactly the same as the thumbnail with the _LRG before the extension, bla_LRG.jpg
If you go through all those steps you will find where the error is.
PS. Thanks, enchanted needle.

Re: attribute pop up images

I haven't been able to get this to work for me. Specifically, in this part of the modules\CUSTOM\attributes.php code:

              // collect attribute image if it exists and to be drawn in table below
  				 echo 'made it to HERE line452';
                  if ($products_options_names->fields['products_options_images_style'] == '0' or ($products_options_names->fields['products_options_type'] == PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_FILE or $products_options_names->fields['products_options_type'] == PRODUCTS_OPTIONS_TYPE_TEXT or $products_options_names->fields['products_options_type'] == '0') ) {	echo 'made it to HERE line453';
                    if ($products_options->fields['attributes_image'] != '') {
                      $tmp_attributes_image_row++;

                      //   if ($tmp_attributes_image_row > PRODUCTS_IMAGES_ATTRIBUTES_PER_ROW) {
                      if ($tmp_attributes_image_row > $products_options_names->fields['products_options_images_per_row']) {
                        $tmp_attributes_image .= '<br class="clearBoth" />' . "\n";
                        $tmp_attributes_image_row = 1;
                      }
				 echo 'made it to HERE line462';
				//find large size attribute images. Location must be in /images/large and image name must be image_LRG.ext
```I get to line 452 once per attribute image, just as I expect, but I never go through line 453 or line 462 -- or at least the "marker" never gets echoed.
Where is my problem likely to be?
Help me, Obi-Wan.
