Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

banswidthjunkie:

Obviously is a dangerous word.

lol. Did I say baffled? Because I meant retarded. My bad. Yes. Dangerous particularly with this stuff. I should add that I'm running a localhost on a Mac and that dropping the includes folder in the zen folder would most definitely replace the zen one, etc. But that answers my question. I think. So, I ferret out the individual zen files with the same names and replace those with the slimbox ones.

Are you sure? I know apple aren't very good on usabilty (I am basing this on the misery of owning an ipod and having my computer infected with quicktime from time to time) but their OS is unix based and this works in linux.

Try doing a test.

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

There's probably a way with a file utility or from the terminal, but from the regular ui, just dragging the folder to the zen directory will result in the Finder asking you if you really want to replace a folder of the same name with the one you are moving, with no option but cancel.

Here's the link to my site (the one with questions about Slimbox not bringing up the additional images). I currently still have Slimbox installed, just disabled.

Now when I disable Slimbox, my additional images still have the preview thumbnail show, but if you click on it to make it larger, it just shows the main product image for that product. This is using the standard java pop up window which worked just fine before.

Do I have to place every additional image in one directory and in the LRG directory for either one to work properly now?

You probably haven't named your large images according to the horribly complex rules of zencart images. If it fails to load the image it means it doesn't exist.

When you put your cursor over the additional image where does the link point to? You need to put your large image in that location.

Got a link to the site?

Thanks for the reply. That solution seemed to take care of things. I was wondering why Zen-Cart would automate the process of resizing the images before, but then not do it after the slimbox install?

And, is ImageHandler a good addition to have if I'll be adding a lot of images to products later on?

@benblee <--I don't use it myself, I have implemented a similar bit of software, so I can't say how good it is. However people seem to like it, so it is probably worth giving a go.

@kent <-- "just dragging the folder to the zen directory will result in the Finder asking you if you really want to replace a folder of the same name with the one you are moving" The same thing happens in windows and linux (KDE) but when you click replace it leaves everything intact, adds new files and overwrites files of the same name. Have you tried it on a test directory?

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

I am running 1.3.8

I had Zen Light box 1.3 installed.

I examined every file one by one. Replaced the files it modified from ones from the install file. Then I went and installed Light Box 0.1.5 Renamed the two folders uploaded to my site and ran the sql.

However, its not working. When I click on the image it just opens into a new window.

Looking into the thread I think it might be a javascript problem, but I am not sure what to do..

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

Yes it is very odd, i am stumped because the code looks fine.

Apparently my instinct that the patch should work for ZL 1.3 were wrong. What I suggest is:

  1. Go through every file that ZL 1.3 installs and
    a) delete it if it isn't in the default zencart installation
    b) overwrite it with the original file if it is.

  2. Re-install slimbox.

That should hopefully sort it out, there must be some file somewhere that is messing everything up.

A stab in the dark here, I found that when my Hover stopped working it was because Active Scripting had been disabled on my Internet Options. Check your settings or visit another site to see if the problem persists there.

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

Ok, a solution for anyone using a similar setup (MAMP on a Mac) without resorting to the terminal.

You can turn on OSX's ftp server and use an ftp client such as Interarchy. This will allow you to do uploads that merge directory contents instead of overwriting (as a Finder copy does), and as well will allow you to easily set permissions in the unix fashion.

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

What is happening is that none of the files are loading, the mootools library definitely isn't.

Are the files definitely in the right place?
Have something to your file permissions?

(by the way you shouldn't use the classic template, make a copy of it and modify that)

Re: Fual Slimbox (Lightbox) - Ver 1.0 Support

yes, all the files are in the same place, but where is the mootools library? on the documentation, it doesn't say anything about mootools library, what folder are those files in?
