Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

corseter:

Yes they are both looking at the same database. though I only want the new site to look at it and not translate the domain to the old one.

Also if I add in shopping_cart into both excludes lists it still does not work. What is the correct code?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Did you reset the cache after you made changes?

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I have searched forum and found several people with this issue however I have only seen one response for a fix and it was to update to the newest Module manager (which I am already using)

When I goto Admin>Extra>SSU manager I get the following error:

1048 Column 'configuration_group_id' cannot be null
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES ('Set Auto Alias Status', 'SSU_AUTO_ALIAS', 'false', 'Let SSU automatically remove identifiers from links, you have to have ssu alias on.', @t4, 1, NOW(), NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array('true', 'false'),');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Under Module manager if I go to List all modules I see "yellow1912_ssu" and if I click update I get the same error listed above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: for anyone wondering I resolved my issue by uninstalling both SSU and Module Manager (instructions for both can be found on the forums) and reinstalling each. I suspect the problem was a bad Module manager installation.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I have this module installed; everything seems to be working fine but on one category when I clicked on it I get this error:

**403 Permission Denied

You do not have permission for this request /extras. **

extras is the category name. Please does any one knows what is causing this problem?

The problem is due to name conflict between a product category named "Extras" and a folder named "extras." Changing the the folder name to something else fixed the problem.

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi,

I have a question about a part on your module page (http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=1013)

Usually in ZC, a product_info link can contain both cPath and products_id. However, if the cPath is incorrect or is not there, ZC doesnt care at all, it still displays the page just fine. SSU will redirect the users to the correct link (by finding out the correct cPath of the product)

so if the correct url that I want is

/glass-bowls/under-the-sea-glass-bowl

and someone puts any of the following:
/another-category/under-the-sea-glass-bowl
/category-blah/under-the-sea-glass-bowl
/under-the-sea-glass-bowl

People will be 301- redirected to the correct url, instead of staying on the page with the faulty url?

(I'm asking because I used a different url module that didn't 301-redirect, and consequently created hundreds of duplicates for google webmaster tools)

Please let me know.

Thanks a lot!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Hi,

I installed the module and it's really really awesome!
My only question is: Is the module not applicable to ezpages?

I tried searching for the ezpage alias, but some of them show up, others don't. (Because some of them do show up, it seems like that those others should, too, and I have no idea why it works differently for certain pages.)

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I beg some indulgence here as I've not been following this thread enough to have great knowledge. Those of you that know me know how unusual that is! :)

So as I start reading thru all the documentation and this thread perhaps there is someone with a quick answer for me.

One website has always used simple seo with no problems and all of a sudden one of his categories gets a forbidden message - the url shows carpet-cleaning-machines-c-1\\\\\\ with the slashes going on to infinity. Number one, he's not adding the category numbers to the other links so that's wrong.

My reading so far is suggesting that another category has been named to conflict with this category but so far we haven't found anything.

Is there any other reason this might be happening?

One of my concerns here is that my server has been upgraded to 5.3.8 and as old as this mod is, I'm afraid that we are starting to see problems because of that. But this is only category that seems to have a problem with the url.

Thanks in advance.Short answer is probably NO.. Mod author hasn't updated this in some time that I am aware of and no longer supports his/her mods.. Don't seem like anyone else has taken "ownership" of this add-on..

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

Yah, Sure would have been nice if the SSU mod was working on 1.5 out-of-the-box.

Anyone know why it doesn't seem to work? I have been trying, but any SSU modified link 404's me now, so I've disabled it. Perhaps all it needs is a simple modification.

I've been looking into switching to CEON, since it says it supports 1.5, but I don't want to have to manually enter URIs for everything. The automatic way SSU did was much easier!

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

I too was working with SSU. I wasn't even able to install the module manager thats needed to install SSU. I tried to install Model Manager rev 16 because thats the only version working with 1.3.8 (thats the version my site was working on. After the updat to 1.5 all my installed mods stopped working. I also would like my sitemap creater to work...

I read this thread

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=183643

keeping that thread up to date is verry important

and it has only a few mods working unfortunaly ssu is not one of them so far maybe the yellow person who made it can make the adjustments ?

I was made to upgrade to 1.5 by my hostingcompany :yuck:

Re: Simple SEO URL (OLD version) [support thread]

There was a suggestion to pool funds to find someone to update it. I pledge 10$ to this update, if we get 20 people to do it it will be 200$.

Seanriceaz:

I've been looking into switching to CEON, since it says it supports 1.5, but I don't want to have to manually enter URIs for everything. The automatic way SSU did was much easier!there is a paid add-on that works with Ceon URI to ensure you don't have to do this if you are converting your store with existing products and categories.. On a go forward basis, the system auto-generates URIs when you create new products, categories, and EZ Pages.. and in contrast to SSU, in addition to auto generating URI's, you can enter custom URI's on a product by product, category by category and EZ Page by EZ Page basis..

I was made to upgrade to 1.5 by my hostingcompany :yuck:This list is not EVERYTHING v1.5, only everything reported in that thread.. There are mods which v1.5 ready that have not been reported in that thread..

As I said already the author of SSU does not support SSU anymore, hasn't made updates to it, and probably WILL NOT update it for v1.5 compatibility..

If it's important to your business, you may have to invest in paying a developer to convert this mod for you..
