Gallery Integration with Zencart

christon26:

Ok, I contacted my hosting, and for anyone else having these php warnings displayed, you can add this line to your .htaccess

php_value display_errors "Off"

Hope that helps some others cos it worked like a charm for me :)

jgatlin: did you try this? Your errors are pretty much the same as I was getting :)

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I did attempt to get Bluehost to do this for me. This was there reply.

Dear Customer,

You should be able to turn it off in the php.ini file or add error_reporting(0); to the top of your script.

The only problem is can not get to the php.ini file and I have .htaccess files every where in my web folder. I did attempt to change some of the .htaccess files and was not able to make it work.

Thank you for the quick response.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Download via ftp the .htaccess in your main store root folder and open in Notepad, add this line underneath anything already there:

php_value display_errors "Off"

save it and then re-upload and you should be all good :)

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

The .htaccess file in my root folder has no text in it. When I ad your text to it I get an internal server error. I just tried it again and got the same result. I am still not sure this is the right file. It is in the same folder as the complete website.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I don't know what else to tell you, my hosting is not Bluehost so maybe it's different? Have you tried emailing them and asking them exactly what needs to be put into the .htaccess and seeing if it's different than what I was told to put into mine? most good hosting companies worth their salt won't actually mind doing a simple task like this for you.....I hope they will be able to help :)

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

It is amazing what you can learn when you read.

I researched the .htaccess file and this is what I found.
One more thing I am using Apache 2.2.

php_flag does not work with Apache 2. Neither does writing the words "on" or "off" — you must use 0 (off) or 1 (on).

So, for Apache 2.x, you use this directive to turn register_globals OFF:

php_value register_globals 0

also found this

People running Apache 1.x can use the directives above as is, but people running under Apache 2.x may need to use the directory structure. (This depends again on how your host has set this up).By "directory structure" I mean <Directory> and </Directory>. These are used to enclose a group of directives which will apply only to the named directory and sub-directories of that directory. You must make sure that you use the correct syntax for your <Directory>.

After all of this it still did not work but it may be possible that my server will not allow me to do this without changing settings on the host end.

Thank you again for your help.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Finally fixed it.

I inserted
error_reporting(E_ERROR | E_WARNING | E_PARSE); right after the php beginning in the ** includes\modules\column_right.php** file. That is also the same thing I did in the application_bottom.php file. It took care of both error problems. Doing it this way still allows strict error reporting in all other places.

Hope this helps someone else in the future.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Iam trying to use this mod but I have a few questions:

First off where am I suppose to insert this code> <?phpÊ

$G_JGALL['inc_path']Ê=Ê'gallery/';
include($G_JGALL['inc_path']Ê.Ê'index.php');Ê
?>

Second off: I want to add gallery to multible pages and have linked to them in the description, I will be selling aftermarket car parts so I will have examples of installed parts on cars or Cars that have been modified. Iam using Page Generator to creat new pages so How would I do that????

Please help my work is at halt now till I figure this mod out.

In one of your define pages - as per the instructions from the download - look in Admin/Tools/Define Pages Editor - and choose a page...

    > <?phpÊ##
     $G_JGALL['inc_path']Ê=Ê'gallery/';##
     include($G_JGALL['inc_path']Ê.Ê'index.php');Ê##
     ?>As far as I can tell - there is an error in the download file - if you remove all of the Ê characters - it will work - there appear to be a few extra (un-needed) files in that download too ??
     > Second off: I want to add gallery to multible pages and have linked to them in the description, I will be selling aftermarket car parts so I will have examples of installed parts on cars or Cars that have been modified. Iam using Page Generator to creat new pages so How would I do that????Can't help with that...

     I'm not sure if anyone is watching this thread much at the moment - but here goes - This script (JGallery) is pretty much what I was looking for - I have been using a coppermine gallery for images - but this has the potential to be so much easier - and all within Zen - The one big issue I have with it - is that I am getting 150+ errors showing when I try validation - whereas the rest of the install is error-free - so - anyone else tried validating the gallery page ? - and if so - are you getting validation errors ?
     More to the point - if it is just **my** Gallery install that is not validating - any pointers on where to start with cleaning the code up ? - I have attempted to adjust the code (spent a couple of long days scratching my head with this) as per the errors generated on the validation page - but in all cases - whatever I modify kills the gallery....
     Anyone know of a PHP specific validation - or code checking tool ? (like a PHP Tidy ???:blink:)

BTW - have everything only on local server at the moment - so not available to check online...

Looks like no one else has any use for this script ?

Would really appreciate any feedback on whether other people are getting validation errors with this script ?
(I have checked one particular site running this script - and there are "192 Errors, 71 warning(s)" showing on that site...
Or should I be looking at a different script altogether ? - or post this in a different place ?

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

spottedhaggis:

After a little modification now when you click the gallery page link it opens up the default album, so if you dont need to have seperate albums, you can simply define one album and go right to it on the click.

Their is a version on the forum that someone created that includes a lightbox, but I found it to be problematic so decided not to implement it.

Since its theme based modification to it is very easy.
I am having trouble getting my images to show no matter what path I input. What do you suggest?

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

The config.inc.php should have this path

$C_JGALL['gall_dir'] = 'albums/'; (note trailing slash)

and where you insert the code into the page, it should look like this

<!--$G_JGALL['inc_path'] = 'gallery/'; include($G_JGALL['inc_path'] . 'index.php'); -->

NOTE: The gallery/ path above is located in the root of the domain name, so I expect yours may well look more like this

<!--$G_JGALL['inc_path'] = 'shop/gallery/'; include($G_JGALL['inc_path'] . 'index.php'); -->

I should also mention that if you are using SEO in your Zencart, then you will need to exclude the page_2 (assuming thats the page you are using for the gallery) from SEO, since this will also cause an issue.

If you have no luck, and would like me to take a look, drop me an email with your ftp details (no charge) [email protected] and your in luck, I just cam,e off my last night shift as ambulance driver so am free for 4 days (wife and kids permitting of course) :clap:

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

There are probably quite a few validate errors, on my wifes site, but in all honesty I did not write the gallery myself only integrated it, which was simple in itself.

At some point over the next couple of weeks I do intend on validate and fixing the errors on the site, I just have not had the time as yet.

I eventually ended up using the document - general product type to construct a Gallery effect...

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Hi,

This mod is perfect for a new site I am working on - it all uploads and looks good and I can access the Gallery by typing the URL.

However, there is no upload menu item in the admin of my Zencart - am I missing an install step?

Also, if I type in the url for the galleryupload.php I get the same error about php4upload.class.php as tonitonitoni does on page 3 of this thread.

thanks :P

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Sorry I think this is my error. :oops:

I had neglected to include some primary files.

I am uploading a new version with these missing files to Zen, but until its accessable, you can download the latest version from the link below.

This version allows default upload directories of root and album one. You can define more album folders by opening the admin/config file and following the simple instructions their.

If you have errors, please try this version, it should fix them

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Remember, when adding a new sub-folder to your gallery config file, always remember the trailing / after the path ( ../gallery/albums/newalbum/ - not - ../gallery/albums/newalbum )

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Cheers for the lightning fast response Craig, your updated download fixed it all for me :)

The simple Gallery solution you have put together works really well, thanks for taking the time to get jgallery and Zencart working together.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

For those interested, I noticed that Yooweb integrated my gallery with Lighbox, and mentioned he was planning on offering image edint tools of a sort (rename, delete etc) so I spent a short time locating a suitable script and have made the changes.

You can now (with the replacement file I have uploaded to zen addons and the link in this message) rename, create delete files and folders from within admin.

simple addond of osfilemanager

get it here if you want to try it, only requires a single file replacement (Galleryupload.php)

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Ok I'm stuck,

I've upload the files and can go to page that I've created
http://kiteforce.com.au/shop/gallery/
however I cant get the page into the defined page
http://kiteforce.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=gallery

I've change the the relevant code to suit my site and think I've got it right?

<?php
$G_JGALL['inc_path'] = 'shop/gallery/';
include($G_JGALL['inc_path'] . 'index.php');
?>

I've also modifid the config file

$upload_dirs = array(
  "images" => array(
      "dir"     =>"../shop/gallery/albums/",
      "name"    =>"root",

"images2" => array(
      "dir"     =>"../shop/gallery/albums/album1",
      "name"    =>"Album One",

Have I missed something?
