Gallery Integration with Zencart

Can you check and if possible paste the following

The part you need to paste into the page from within the pages editor of Zencart should be as follows.

<?php
$G_JGALL['inc_path'] = 'gallery/';
include($G_JGALL['inc_path'] . 'index.php');
?>

Remember, when you open the page to edit it (and have selected html editor or similar) you also need to do it in source mode.

The code above assumes your shop is in the root of your hosting, yours looks like it is, so should work.

shout back if no luck

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I shoudl also mention that whatever page you opt to use will not work if you are using SEO tools, so assuming you are using one of the SEO addons for Zencart, remember to add the gallery page to the DO NOT USE SEO function, sure its not as good but its not a huge cost.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

does this actually use the zencart template or do you have to rewrite the template for Gallery to match

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I am attempting to use Jgallery

however I am not able to get Jgallery to appear in my EZ pages.

It has the heading but no gallery.

Also directories and files loaded to the server are in the proper folder but do not appear in the gallery

does anyone have any experience with this

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

lol, I made a copy of your main page, then tried to guess the path to your host root to see if the code would work on my host, of course it failed misserably, but hey I was trying to help.

ok, here is a little information.

Jgallery is an entirely seperate gallery system, when I say it integrates with Zencart, it only makes the gallery function within the cart as if its part of the cart. I added the mod that gives you the uploading ability to the zencart myself, simply to enhance the integration.

Now, uploading everything, does not overwrite any file unless you already have a folder called gallery, that said, the upload folder it creates is in the root of your host and is called " gallery " not Gallery or JGallery, jGallery or any other variation on that theme.

So, the code above needs to reflect the name of the gallery folder. If you decide you want to have a gallery folder thats called imagegallery, thats fine, rename the gallery folder accordingly and edit the code you inserted into the page of zencart.

It does work, but, it DOES NOT work if you use SEO, so you must add the page your using to the NOT include for SEO option for it to work.

I can say with all certainty it works well.

My wifes css for her gallery I edited to remove almost everything so all that is left is the images and nothing more.

hope this helps, but if not, please feel free to email me direct or skype me ( spottedhaggis ) im online much of the time

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

ok look, I know you dont know me from anyone, but if it is going to help, email me the admin access toyour shop, where you want the gallery, and if at all possible ftp access and I will install the gallery for you.

Shouldnt take too long to do, unless your host is the issue

yeah that woudl be great. I have never had trouble with addons before so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Ideally I would like to have this also with the new gallery upload option.

Do you recommend this version?

Would you mind posting excactly how you set this up when you do it, I think it would help everyone. There is something people aren't seeing from the instructions. I don't mind throwing a little paypal money your way.

I am about to send you access to my test site. Then I can try on the live site later.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

Not a problem, and you dont need to pay me anything either.

I will look at the instructions again for you and if they need updating I will do it and upload a new version of them to go with the addon.

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I have now updated the instructions and included the new uploader function into a new version. This has been uploaded to the zencart site, but not yet checked and confirmed, however when it is, it wil be version 1.4.6

I may make some further mods to it, any suggestions?

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

since you asked, and since this is obviously a popular addon

and this may be the case already but

  1. it should have the option to only be accessible through zencart

in other words if your page in gallery then going to https://www.yoursite.com/gallery/ would take tyou to the zencart templated version. again this may already be the case

  1. be able to delete

  2. captions

  3. pick a default image for folders

my 2 cents

i am emailing you the login for my test site now

Re: Gallery Integration with Zencart

I will look at your requests and see what I can do on them.

Also, anyone using this mod, please do not go ranting and raving about lack of support on the website of the guy that created the actual gallery code, someone posted on their a whine about the uploading tool, which had nothing to do with the actual gallery in the first place, but was an addition added by me.

Hope thats clear all.

Not the case but will look into it.

  1. be able to delete

Already available in admin.

  1. captions

Looking at this already, not yet implemented.

  1. pick a default image for folders

Not even sure how it works at present, possibly alphabetical order, so first in alphabet displays as thumbnail image, testing should be able to confirm this, and that would be the simplest solution rather than trying to code it into the package.
