I'm pleased to announce a new feature for autoresponder+. The ability to include an automatically generated, unique discount coupon in the emails. Customers can now receive their own coupon following each order, which you can set to expire after one use. You include the coupon by simply typing in "[coupon]" anywhere in the email and this will be replaced by the new coupon code. The coupon start date will be the day that the email is sent and I have set the expiry date to be one year after. You can change this to suit your preferences. For example, you could configure expiry to be just 2 weeks to try to force an immediate sale. I need to test this feature some more and update the documentation and then the new version should be available at some point.

Is anyone interested in beta testing? Please PM.

v2.1 also has an optional setting to make the product details as clickable links. This is useful if you are requesting product reviews as the customer can click directly onto the product page.

I wonder why it can't work with SEO mods... because the Recover Cart Sales mod sends product links that work. I have Simple SEO URL's mod installed and it just redirects to the alias URL that I created.
Is there a reason this wouldn't do the same thing?

With your seo url mod, if you type in a traditional out-of-the-box Zen Cart product url into the address bar, will you get redirected to the friendly url version? If so, the feature will work for you. I'll take a look at the Recover Cart Sales mod to see how they do it. Does the Recover Cart Sales mod display the traditional link or a friendly version?

Yep "Simple SEO Url's" redirects the traditional link to the seo friendly link. Recover Cart Sales displays the traditional link.

That's good. I'm assuming all the other seo url mods do the same. The feature should work for you then. Just don't be surprised when you find a long, ugly looking url in the emails

Hi All!
Trying to see if Autoresponder can suit my need of:
adding an email field on a product page (that's set to "Email For Price") where the user requests an automated email with the product line price list - that's all...
Would you think Autoresponder could do this? AJAX version would be great!
Thanks

Hi Gabstero,
The Autoresponder+ mod is designed to send out a delayed email following either an order or a new account. It has no ability to add extra product fields or to send a product price-list. It sounds like you might require some custom coding as I'm not aware of any existing mod for this.

You could check out the Commercial Help Wanted section of the forum.

I know that you've answered this time and again but I can't figure out where to look for the following error - $EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML is showing the body of the HTML email. I recognize that this means that the constant is not picking up the value. I get the image, copyright information and the unsubscribe information.
I can send a "contact us" email and it comes through perfectly. This tells me that somehow elsewhere $EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML is being defined and used.
However, here is something else I noticed. I am operating on a local test server so I can manipulate the customer preferences. The test customer is set to receive "text only". However, what come through when I kick off autoresponder through the browser is an HTML message. It appears that autoresponder is ignoring that this customer wants text only.
I've compared all of the Autoresponder+ files on the server to the add-on files using Araxis Merge and they are correct. I also went through all of the database entries and they are in there correctly.
The test text messages are very simple. The test HTML message is <p>Test Message</p>
I'd sure appreciate your thoughts as to where to look. Obviously there is something misconfigured somewhere.
Relevant Info: Zen Cart 1.3.8a
Database Patch Level: 1.3.8
Autoresponder+ version: 2.1a
Mods: Numerous but customer status emails come through correctly. Automatic purchase orders are generated, etc.

It's true that Autoresponder+ does not check the customer's email preference, whether it be text or html. To be honest it's not an area which I'm very knowledgeable in. By that, I mean if the mod knew which preference the customer has set, I wouldn't really know how to force the sending of only a text email or only an html email. At the moment, the way I believe it works is that if the customer's email programme can receive html, an html email will be received. Obviously this isn't ideal and the mod should check the customer's email preference.
Without delving into this just yet, it's quite possible that your problem could actually be due to the above. Perhaps if the mod were to have forced a text email and only send html emails when appropriate, you might not experience such problems.
In the meantime, one work-around you might consider is to alter the mod to use the standard php mail function instead of Zen Cart's method. That way the customer should only receive text emails - which always seem to work fine.

Thanks for your quick answer. But it raised another question. If the mod doesn't pick up on the customer e-mail preference, what is the purpose of filling out both the text and html versions?
Totally Zenned
If the customer can receive html, they receive the content from the html section. If they can't receive html, they receive the content from the text section. Since you don't know which they can receive, it's best to complete both sections.
In other words, both sections will never be used for each individual email but both sections will probably be used over the course of many emails - just never at the same time.

This is an awesome feature, but unfortunately I am not getting very far with it.
I installed it in a zen version 1.3.7
I have the barebones template installed
I installed the latest autoresponder patch: 2.1.a including the DB patches
I loaded the autoresponder.php file to my zen root.
I replaced the functions_email file like the thread said....
but my problem is much simpler than than: I can't see the "Autoresponder+" page under the configuration tab. I am thinking I am missing something with the languages file, but I already tried everything and I still dont' see the page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.:(
Thanks!

Hi,
The admin settings are totally dependent on the SQL patch. Whether the files have been correctly uploaded or not shouldn't make any difference at all. If you're sure that you applied the patch, you might want to confirm this using phpMyAdmin by looking in both the "configuration_group" and "configuration" tables for Autoresponder+ entries. There should be one entry for Autoresponder+ in the "configuration_group" table and, well, a lot of entries in the "configuration" table.
Another thing to do is to clear your browser cache and then restart your browser.
New Zenner
Thanks for the hints. I done both. I can see several entires in the configuration table, matching the configuration_group_id in the configuration_group table.
I also re-started my browser... didn't worked.
My question now is... which file determines which pulldown menus to display under the "Configuration" tab?
Or which file, in the autoresponder patch adds the "autoresponder+" menu to the Configuration pull down menu?
Maybe I am missing a file????
Thanks!

Or which file, in the autoresponder patch adds the "autoresponder+" menu to the Configuration pull down menu?
Running the supplied Install.sql in Admin -> Tools -> Install SQL Patches is all that's needed for the admin settings to show. None of the Autoresponder+ files have any affect with regards to the admin panel.
Perhaps try reinstalling by running the Uninstall.sql and then the Install.sql again. Make sure to copy-and-paste the code, as opposed to uploading.
Do you have any other mods showing under the configuration tab?
Have you applied the recent Zen Cart security patch?
