did you actually created the new file? did you change the permission into 777 before.? did you go to you GC account and see the log?

The new version is 1.4.7 works fine for me. HOWEVER I had problems with the version you mention, specially with shipping, in which NEVER ever worked with calculated shipping, once I have updated I have no problems for over a month and I have around 10 orders per week
Okay, maybe this is the problem, I have a file under googlecheckout .htaccess that I have set the permissions to 777? And I log into the google orders page and get my orders. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help. I have been looking at this so long, I must have overlooked something!
Hi all,
i'm trying to use google checkout on zen cart with shipping calculations. I'm a uk merchant and have two "location vs. weight" price scales. One scale for single man delivery, one table for two man.
I have GC 1.4.6a running on ZC 1.3.7. An English guy at google sent me XML for the pricing matrix and and a java api to use with carrier calculated shipping.
But I don't know much PHP, so i can't translate his java code. I also found a message from Ropu on the google forum stating that UK merchants can't use carrier calculated shipping, though it was dated october, so might be out of date now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My PHP and web coding skills are not up to figuring this out from the help files on merchant or carrier calc shipping. Has anyone got merchant or carrier calc shipping working for these versions of CG and ZC. If so, i'd really appreciate some code snippets and pointers. I'm not getting anywhere at the moment.
Best regards, Bod
Thanks for the great mod! When user checkout using "Google Checkout", shouldn't the shopping cart contents be cleared? what I observed is that, the shopping cart contents remain even after the order completion by Google. Is this the expected behavior? or I missed/messed something?
Thanks,
PM
Hi PM,
it clears in mine. do you have the callback url set up in your merchant account settings?
Is there a way to make Google Checkout the only checkout option? also retrieve a csv file for shipping info?
I see this talked about elsewhere, but it's giving me fits and I can't solve it. When trying to Edit my Google Checkout settings, I get this error message in the Admin:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_cfg_select_shipping() in /home/jsbsec/public_html/jadmin/modules.php(282) : eval()'d code on line 1
I see it mentioned that if you renamed your admin folder, this could be the cause. I did rename my admin folder, but I don't see anywhere in the code where I could update the connection.
Doh, never mind. I wish I could delete some of my questions after the fact. I loaded the Google Checkout files to my server without renaming the admin folder, so some needed files were sitting in an admin folder instead of my custom named admin folder. After moving those to the proper folder, all is well.
Since GC doesn't allow international shipping, I tried to make international shipping free and to handle it manually.
After some struggle with free shipping options, I manage to have free shipping for international orders, but Google Checkout still display [Shop] does not ship to this address, although it's free shipping.
I cannot set my products as virtual, since in this case my carrier calculated shipping rates for USA won't work anymore.
Any suggestions? Is there any way to setup GC to ignore shipping, other than setting the products as virtual?
When I update a GC order from Zencart to "Google Shipped" it updates to shipped but then further updates it it to "Google Canceled". It does not really cancel the order on the Google side but it seems wrong to show as canceled in Zencart. Is there a way to fix this?
I have flat 12$ shipping for my products. It shows up when I checkout to Google but when I place an order, free shipping options comes up under flat shipping in the dropdown menu.
Is there any way to make free shipping options not show up?
Anyone find anything?
I found some info but not a real solid solution like a code.
I went on google groups and Ropu said he could put in a code but i can't find it
How do I stop zen cart from sending any tax table information to gco.
I want to use the gco tax rate setup.
keep getting this error message as i am testing if GC works or not on my site: Error parsing XML; message from parser is: Invalid value for body of merchant-calculations-url in checkout-shopping-cart/checkout-flow-support/merchant-checkout-flow-support/merchant-calculations: URL contains illegal characters
heres a bit of background on this, I have a ssl from streamline.net (i dont know its a level 2 as asked for by GC? ) and i have put the zen cart on the ssl server side and the non-sll side, do i need to do that or does it just need to be the GC folder on the ssl side to make transactions secure??
In GC its pointing towards the path below but the path doesn't seem right? look after .com, should thehttps be the non ssl side pathwise??:
<merchant-calculations-url>https://canvas-style-art.ssl-01.com/ /shop/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php</merchant-calculations-url>
<accept-merchant-coupons>true</accept-merchant-coupons>
any pointing in the right direction would be very cool, cheers

I have installed GC module as per instructions but i am i having 1 last problem with it any help would be great.
I have clean insatl of Zen Cart 1.3.8a with GC v1.4.7
my website hosting is with godaddy
I am currently testing on GC sandbox mode
I can checkout ok and GC can get postage from my site ok via https and orders appear in my admin no problem at all.
When i update orders in GC they are updated in my admin no problem.
The only problem i have is that when update an order in my admin site it does not update in GC or even send out email via admin even thought i have option select in payment setting of GC module.
I have done some search on this forum with must success.
I did see some mention about Curl proxy setting my be an issue but i have set them to proxy.shr.secureserver.net:3128 but still then same.
Any help or advise would be thankfull.
I've been trying the past 4 hours to get this to work, maybe someone can tell me what's wrong. I have the Checkout button showing in ZenCart, and can place an order, but can't go back to my ZenCart store and record the order.
In my Checkout Settings, under the Continue Shopping URL, I entered the secure path to my responsehandler.php file:
https://secure.webdesignminnesota.co...nsehandler.php
In Google Checkout, under Integration, I entered the same URL:
https://secure.webdesignminnesota.co...nsehandler.php
The problems/questions are this:
1) The link in Google Checkout for 'continue shopping' comes out as this:
http://jsbsecuritystore.com/index.ph...nsehandler.php
2) If I just try to paste the correct URL from Google Checkout back to my store , I get asked for ID and password. Does this mean my .htacess and .htpwd files are incorrectly configured?
3) Isn't googlecheckout/responsehandler.php the file I should be posting to?
My store under development is at:
http://jsbsecuritystore.com/index.php
ok, but on the Google side of things, should it point to the responsehandler.php file?
Yes! Something like: https://www.yourdomainname.com/googl...nsehandler.php you will of course replace yourdomainname with your actual domain.
well that's suppose to be site/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php
It's extremely important to point to the right SSL url for production.
tried all the above but still getting the opps screen up, any any ideas??

I've got everything working now except making Google Checkout the only option. This post says to disable the checkout button, which I did, but then there's nothing there for the user to click on for checking out. Just a blank.
So, the customer clicks checkout, and they get auto-forwarded to the login page, which I want to keep as a log in page for exisiting customers.
Maybe I don't understand the previous post correctly, but How do I get them to click Checkout and then only get Google Checkout, without a login or create account option?
Minneapolis_Dan, did you get the original issue resolved that you and I exchanged posts about? If so, it's helpful usually to post back that the suggestion fixed your problem. That way others with same problem will know what works.
You mentioned everything is working now but you didn't tell us if the changes I proposed solved your problem or if you did something different to make everything work. That's useful information for others that might run into the same problem.
If I found my file changes I will post (but don't wait for me). This issue has been discussed both in this thread as well as on the google group: http://groups.google.com/group/googl...rt-mod-support . You might want to take a look there if you haven't already.
Yes, you're right. Thanks for your help. I should mention my solution, in case anyone else gets turned around like me.
In my mind, I was confusing the setting in ZenCart for continue shopping, and the setting in Google Checkout for API callback.
I didn't understand that what I set in ZenCart Admin, for Continue Shopping, was just a link back to the site, and not involved in the actual writing of the order from Google Checkout back to ZenCart.
So, what I entered in the Google Checkout settings for API callback, for the responsehandler.php, is functioning as a silent post (at least the way I understand it.) It sends a response back to ZenCart behind the scenes, and when I click the Continue Shopping, and go to my "checkout_success" page, ZenCart has me logged in as a customer and I can view my order.
As I falling asleep last night, the concept suddenly became clear to me, and in the morning, I had it all working. I get myself confused when I get into coding and terms I don't understand.
Wow, could I have helped someone else for a change? That would be great.
In Google Checkout: Settings: Integration: API Callback URL:
enter the path back to your responsehandler.php file.
For me, it was:
https://mydomain.com/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php
Replace https://mydomain.com with whatever the secure URL is for your store.
So, I have been combing over this forum, and still don't understand how to get Google Checkout as the only option for checkout.
I've read one solution, but it didn't seem to work for me.
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...postcount=1710
As it stands, if someone opts to create a new account, or logs in as an existing customer, they can start to checkout but under payment options, it says there are none, because Google Checkout is my only option. And the only way right now to choose Google Checkout as a payment option is during checkout, if the user is NOT logged in, and they get sent to the login page.
How do I get it so if a user is logged in and goes to checkout, they can choose Google Checkout as a payment option, and get sent out to Google's server?
Hello,
Is the Google Checkout mod stable enough for version 1.3.8a?
Thx
You helped me (I'm hoping that it works!) So here's my thought on your situation....maybe I am way way off, but if you only have the googlecheckout module turned on in admin>payments wouldn't google be the only way they can pay?? Just a thought, I'm sure it isn't that easy, what ever is??
It is the only way they can pay, but right now, the Google Checkout only shows up as a button when checking out. If the customer creates an account, or logs in, they are shuttered off to a Zen Cart checkout page where Google checkout isn't a payment option. And since there are no other payment options, there's nothing for them to do.
I could disable the login feature, but I don't want to if I don't have to. I just want Google Checkout to show up as a payment option during checkout.
Okay so I tried this and thought all was fine but I just got an email from google saying
I checked and my googlecheckout/responsehandler.php is set to 777Quote:
We've made several unsuccessful attempts to send order notifications to your notification callback URL, https://www.mommyandbabyessentials.com/googlecheckout/responsehandler.php As a result, you aren't receiving order status, risk, or other notifications.
any other suggestions?
ok i need a little advice with this as i seem to be going around in circles, i have just uninstalled GC and iam starting from scratch, i need to understand where to put files first if anyone could be so kind in helping me to clarify my thoughts.
I have an SSL server which is: https://canvas-style-art.ssl-01.com/
and i have a domain server where the cart resides, when installing the GC mod
do i install it on the domain server side and the SSL side?
this is the first time i have ever set anything like this up so iam a bit green.
cheers:lamo:
Im stuck in the middle of installing GC. I have installed easy sign up and login and my tpl_login_default.php is totally different. I don't know which comments to replace. Im following step 2 by the way.
Ok, I managed to get the button to appear in the shopping cart but im not sure what supposed to happen next. Im still using sandbox so am I supposed to get to Google Checkout page when I click the button?
Ok, got the button working. Just wondering, is the order made with sandbox account supposed to be shown in admin?
Im having the same problems. All orders recorded in Google but not in Zen Cart.
Is .htaccess Basic Authentication Mode supposed to be set to True? And am I supposed to have .htaccess file inside the googlecheckout folder? If yes, how do I make one?
Lastly, why do I have "Error: Shipping Methods not configured
freerules (ignored)" under the Google Checkout button?
Thx
I have never had a problem installing a mod in this cart or osc until now. The intructions are very detailed and well written if you have some knowledge of php and understand the workings of the google and zen cart checkout system. If you don't have a good grasp on either of those this isn't the mod for you. Your better off paying someone with the know how install it for you.
I got it installed without a problem, however, setting up the shipping was another story. The instructions for that might as well be written in brail. I spent two days trying to figure it out and gave up.
With the developers no longer with the project ( who is going to keep it updated?) and it being kind of intrusive (putting a checkout button on the signup page is a little much I think) I decided against using it. It's a shame too as I was looking forward to using it.
If I can't get it to work through the weekend, i'll just get rid of it. I still have my merchant account anyway. And, it is a shame that getting this mod to work is a bit troublesome.
RE: Free shipping
It seems that when you setup free shipping within zen cart, the google checkout offers the free shipping regardless of whether the pricing conditions were met. In my cart, I set up free shipping on orders over $100 for example, but on orders less than $100, google checkout still shows the free shipping option.
Another problem I noticed was that when you setup a Coupon Code for free shipping, GC does not remove the shipping costs after you apply the coupon in GC. It applies a credit for whatever coupon amount you've set, in which case is $0 for a coupon with free shipping option only..
I decided to just uninstall this module. Im pretty sure I haven't missed anything but for some reason, I still have all the Google Order Status in admin? Can I just delete them?
Also, I can drop the two tables (google_checkout and google_orders) now right?
Hi All
I have installed google checkout and getting an error message from google checkout when I get transferred over, also not to sure what my api called back should be? set at in my google account, this is the message I get below ,my checkout process is not padlocked
has sent Google a shopping cart with errors in it. We'll contact them to ask that they fix this problem. As this could be a temporary issue, you can go back in your browser to try checking out again zencart
Hi i installed GC on my 1.3.8 zencart and i have no idea why new orders are not showing in admin, i think there is some problem with that file :
googlecheckout/responsehandler.php
im useing server with PHP Version: 4.4.7
Database: MySQL 4.1.22
i set up .htaccess Basic Authentication Mode to true but im not sure its correct or not.
Please help
I have Google Checkout setup properly for domestic orders but it cannot take international orders with non-US addresses. How can this be fixed?
Thanks.
Just a follow up, I sorted the problem I mentioned above it was a setting on my google checkout admin ,but take note it seemed to take
a day for change to take effect.

1. Have you installed correct Checkout mod for version of
zencart you are currently using?
2. You have installed ssl cert matching google requirements?

Hi Misty,
thank you for the great reply,
from what I gather from your questions, we only don't have SSl installed. How sure can we be that this is causing the bug? Should we go ahead and pay for it?
Thanks again!
Without correct level of SSL cert, Google checkout in live mode,Quote:

WILL NOT WORK.
http://www.completessl.com/complete_ssl.php
I use above company, issuing Comodo SSL..
Work fine..
Ok Misty,
we have already started the process of buying and installing SSL on the server.
However, we are trying with sandbox & without SSl and it's still not working.. Shouldn't it work with sandbox?
Best regards,
Kostas
Yes, if you have altered settings, via admin, in zencart google checkout,Quote:

to reflect this change to sandbox.
Our store is now live with Google Checkout using version 1.4.7. Our store is designed as a gift site. Some of the "ship to" locations will be classified as businesses while others will be classified as residences. When we prepare labels for shipping on the FedEx site, the site will check if the address is a residence or business and charge us differently by using FedEx Home v. FedEx Ground. FedEx Home appears to be more expensive.
Is there anyway to have Google Checkout validate the address to see if it is a residence and then not allow the user to select an invalid shipping method? This seems possible as it is exactly what FedEx.com is doing.
Thank you for your advice.
I know this has more than likely been posted but I cannot seem to find this anywhere else. People purchase things through my website via paypal fine -- but when it comes to GC, it fails.
As soon as someone makes a purchase it will go to my google account, but it will not show in the zencart admin area -- it simply just show's no new purchases (0's for everything with google.)
Anyone have an idea?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
-Thanks in advance, illusive101.

From Google Checkout mod instructionsQuote:
Did you do initial check, as per mod instructions, that your zencart store is connecting to google.
i.e.

What do you mean by "Go to the next section?"
When I went to that URL, It went to a login thing -- where it asked for a username and password.
Which is?
lol
Bah -- I'm such a noob.
I have no idea what's going on ;(
In my google account for API callback URL: I have https://alt-gaming.com/googlecheckou...nsehandler.php .
But you said I should go to http://alt-gaming.com/googlecheckout...nsehandler.php
(The difference is https and http)
The HTTP works and the HTTPS doesn't -- does this mean I don't have the required SSL?
Yes, it means you do not have required SSL cert.Quote:

Until you do purchase/install SSL, Google Checkout
will not work in live mode, on your zencart site.
What about this? I have a shared SSL.

Wewt:clap:
It worked!
Saved myself $75!
One more question!
Does anyone know how to make it so in Zencart guest MUST signup to view the shopping cart?
Is anyone else having problems with the USPS module and googlecheckout? It was working fine, now suddenly if the rate has to be calculated, it is put it as $1.00.
Thanks!
I'm having epic failure ever since I installed the google checkout module.
My store is at https://shop.allgames.com
Whenever anything is selected i get
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare compare() (previously declared in /home/.bedrock/allgames/shop.allgames.com/includes/functions/extra_functions/added_function_for_google_checkout.php:345) in /home/.bedrock/allgames/shop.allgames.com/googlecheckout/gcheckout.php on line 417
Im not sure what I've done, i tweaked the files as mentioned in the install doc.
I apologize for the double post. I cant see how to edit my post.
When i am in the admin area, i can't get it to list recent sales. I get this message
Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_get_orders_comments() in /home/.bedrock/allgames/shop.allgames.com/admin/orders.php on line 872
Also, when someone buys something with paypal, i get the paypal email but it just has the store name as the item. Zen Cart isn't sending me the item they bought by email anymore so I have no way of knowing what they ordered. :(
Check to see that you did not install some of your files in 2 different locations. It appears the you have installed functions/extra_functions/added_function_for_google_checkout.php in your main "includes" folder as well as in the "includes" folder under "admin".

you are a genius chain_man. :) I missed your first response until now. Just checked and saw it was in both places and was in fact causing the issue. I deleted the other one and now the checkout button appears as it should. Thank you so very much. :)

I'm encountering the same issue. Installed the google-checkout-zencart-v1.4.6a.zip for ZenCart 1.3.7. Additionally, when I install the googlecheckout in the admin. The site also shows the following:

I was wondering if anybody was experiencing the same problem I am.
On Admin > Configuration > Shipping/Packaging I want to set the Shipping Estimator Display Settings for Shopping Cart to option "2= Display as Listing on Shopping Cart Page". When I do so, nothing below the checkout button gets displayed on the site. There is no problem when I select any of the two other options: 0= Off or 1= Display as Button on Shopping Cart.
Any ideas will be helpful.
By the way, I'm using zencart 1.3.8a and google_checkout_module_for_zen_cart_v1-4-7
Did you ever get a response to this error. I am getting the same response after installing GoogleCheckout. Followed all the steps from the installation and README to get the MOD installed.
Using GoDaddy which has PHP running as CGI. Set the installation to settings to use the .htaccess file for user authorization.
Any suggestions......I've posted at least 3-4 blogs and haven't received a single answer.
Thanks,

Greetings,
We've created a coupon in Google Checkout. However, when we add something to our basket, then go to checkout through GC, the coupon does not work. Do Google coupons work with zencart/gccheckout or do we *have* to use zencart coupons?
I want to encourage people to checkout through google, and thus would like to use Google coupons.
Thanks.
Without SSL, does Google Checkout completely NOT work, or does it just not get the response back from GC after the customer pays?
...I ask because I have the module installed on a test site and it seems to work fine going from the cart page to non-sandbox GC. I just haven't gone ahead and completed the order on the GC side.
Another question, if I set up SSL, does the responsehandler bring back the order info and create an order in zen-cart, with customer info? Ideally I'd still like to be able to send post-order emails, newsletters, and coupons to those buyers.
Probably just worth me taking a moment to re-remind people that a special group exists just for supporting this mod, with many faqs and pinned topics:

Hello Flex,
GC does work without SSL, but when I had no SSL I did not get the order info back, which was no big deal to me since I was fine with processing orders directly through the GC gui.
For coupons, I don't know. I'm still trying to get coupons to work with Google Checkout. If anyone knows how (either GC coupons, or ZC coupons, but preferably GC), I'm interested.
Thanks,
Rob
Yes Google Checkout works without SSL, BUT in sandbox mode only.Quote:

Live mode requires SSL..or zencart will not receive orders.
Hello All,
Help me please, I finally got an order!
My cart is a 1.3.7 version running GC 1.4.beta1
GC is the only payment option, and so an order was placed which did not get posted back to ZC admin, and no account was created. There is no sign of it on my ZC admin.
The error message from Google's perspective is:
the errors I found in the ZC/GC error log were as follows:Quote:
We encountered an error trying to access your server at https://.../.../googlecheckout/responsehandler.php -- the error we got is: Send failed with code: 401. Response body was: Failed to Get Basic Authentication Headers
Line 35 of the googlecheckout.php looks like this:Quote:
[29-Mar-2008 10:33:30] PHP Warning: require(includes/languages//modules/payment/googlecheckout.php) [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/intiucom/public_html/googlecheckout/gcheckout.php on line 35
[29-Mar-2008 10:33:30] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages//modules/payment/googlecheckout.php'
It seems to me that the value for the $_session['language'] doesn't contain a value and therefore the resulting require statement looks as it does above.Code:require('includes/languages/' . $_SESSION['language'] . '/' .'modules/payment/googlecheckout.php');
How can I fix this problem? I appreciate any helpful hints.
Thanks.
Sorry for the bump.
Since my cart will never be anything other than 'english', I removed the variability and hard coded the path.
"Now, we shall see", said the blind man.
Oooops, it me again.
Will the latest version of GCO (the one created for ZC 1.3.8a) work with
ZC 1.3.7 ?
I don't have any intention of updating the cart, just the GCO module.
No, you require GC 1.4.6.aQuote:
