hi hara,
hope the Tutorial "Getting started with MailBeez" on
http://www.mailbeez.com/documentatio...tting-started/
helps you to test your installation.
if your list of recipients is empty there are two reasons:
- you have already send all emails to the current result set
- you don't have any customers matching your current set-up
so to send out a review email you need to have orders in your system with an age in the configured timeframe.
for testing you can set the delay to -1 which means: find all orders from now.
so for running a first simulation play around with the timeframe and check the effect with "list recipients".
If you get some customers in that list you can click on "run module" (in simulation mode) and you will receive a copy of what the customer will receive when you switch into production mode.

Ok now. recipiency email list found. emails sent.
Customer received Review reminder. Problems:
1) Product image not shown.
2) Email page header showing:
template: mailhive/common/templates/email_txt.tpl
I was searching questions about this but no result. Post here hope can get help. Thanks!
hi hara,
1.) do you have any modifications around handling of product images? check how the image path look like in the source code of the email and how it looks like in your store
2.) that is the path to your template file - there you can remove that hint
cheers
cord
Just to save you more confusion: send the 'copy' email to another email address other than one from the system ie: admin@your_site.com a few of us leant the hard way that you don't seem to get HTML copies UNLESS you send it to another (say private) email you own.
Tidy up your Mailbeez templates ie: remove the hints and your away.
there is a FAQ about this on
http://www.mailbeez.com/support/
short version: take an email address with a customer account which is set to "HTML" as email format.
Quote:
Q: Zen-Cart: All emails are sent in TXT, but not HTML format. How can I change this?
A: Mailbeez on zencart is relying on the zencart mailengine which takes each email address to find out what format the recipient prefers (reverse look-up). If you think all emails are sent in TXT you probably have been testing MailBeez with an email addresse w/o account in your zen-cart
If your zen-cart is configured to send HTML emails you need to set up a customer-account with your CC-email / send-copy-to email and configure this account to receive emails in HTML format.
When using this email address for testing / CC you should now receive the HTML version.
Tutorial how configure Zen Cart to be able to send emails as HTML:

Re: review
I sent the mail. Now I want to try to send again manually but there is no more recipients email address. How can I get recipients email again to send/run module?
go to configuration > simulation > button "restart..."
that clears the simulation tracking data and you can run the simulation again.
you also find a setting to disable the tracking in simulation mode, usefull when you need to run a simulation a couple of time e.g. to check layout changes.

I can see product images in List recipients. But no image shown in
Send Test-Mail (received test mail). I'm not sure if recipients can received review email with product image. Please advise.
Hi Hara,
What email client are you using to look at the test mail? Whatever it is, it must be configured to display embedded images AND to display email in HTML.
Typically, webmail services such as gmail and hotmail only partially render HTML...meaning that your emails will show up in these clients as partially text and partially HTML.
Recommend you use Outlook, Outlook Express, or Exchange to test how HTML emails render.
Since your customers will use a variety of email clients, you will need to test your emails in a variety of email clients (gmail, hotmail, outlook, etc) to see how they render in each of these, and then tweak the templates to make them look how you want them to in each of those clients.
In some cases, (like in email clients that render in text only or only partially render HTML) the image simply will not show and there's nothing you can do about it. In that case, tweak the template to look as good as it can in plain text.
This is necessary if you want a professional store because some customers prefer text only email and you will want those emails to look as nice as possible for plain text.
Lastly, you not only have to have your cart set up to send email as HTML, but you must also make sure you have your test client set up in zen cart to receive emails as HTML. If you don't take that step, then nothing else you do will make that email render as HTML.
How do you do that? Search the forum and tutorial for the answer. Again, you must get familiar with basic zen cart functionality and customization in order to be able to correctly configure any mods you install.
Happy Zenning
Hi everyone,
I installed this mod on zen cart 1.39h and repeated the process like twice, but for some reason I can't find where in the admin panel to open mailbeez. It is not located under Tools. One thing to note is that my admin folder is zc_admin instead of admin and I did change the folder names before uploading.
Would you please let me know what am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot!
Mady
hi mady,
by default you will find MailBeez under "Tools"
make sure you have copied the zencart specific include files, which will place the menu item in your admin.
does it work?
cheers
cord
when you can't find the menu item the include is not where it should be...
please check again you have this file:
zc_admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/mailbeez_tools_dhtml.php
Ok nevermind.. I feel like a fool now.. I have this add-on "Admin Profiles" that controls which menu items to display and so since this add-on is added recently, Admin Profile decided to not display it until I manually go in and check it off for display.
Thanks a lot Cord!!
I will play around with this add-on all week! Thanks for such a great contribution.

This solution ONLY applies to the professional installation of Simple SEO from RubikIntegration:
Navigate to your Admin.

On that page you will see about halfway down the list "Exclude List"
Add a comma, do NOT put a space, and add "mailhive.php"
And voila! It works just fine! Thanks!
Hi Cord,
I installed this module and I love it, especially how flexible it is. The only issue that I am facing is running a cron job without errors. I tried researching this issue in this forum but without any luck. I copied the secure Cron-job URL exactly as it is from my configuration tab and tried to create a cron job with it on cronless.com. However, every time I get this error:
"We checked out the URL, and something isn't right. Make sure it follows this structure:
http(s)://domain.tld/page.pfx with optional variables with the page
e.g. http://coolawesomeblog.com/cron.php or https://www.mysupersite.com/update.php?what=all "
Is the URL I am copying wrong or do I have to add anything to it? Please let me know..
Thanks Cord,

WOW! What fun reading through all 44 pages of posts trying to find an answer. I noticed the question has come up before regarding a 500 Internal Error after copying all files and folders into their correct locations and then clicking on "Mailbeez" in admin Tools.
I added the line of error reporting script and this is the error I get
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_REQUIRE_ONCE in /home/content/78/7737178/html/zencart/old_FiLes_1969/mailbeez.php on line 28"
Here is line 28 in my server
"require_once(DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'mailhive/common/functions/compatibility.php');"
I am using Zencart 1.3.9h and Mailbeez 2.1
Thanks,

Hello Cord,
No, mailbeez is not working at all. In Firefox I just get a white page, in Chrome and Opera I get a 500 Internal Error. This happens when I click on Mailbeez in admin Tools.
I just built this site and just installed mailbeez, no upgrades all fresh, brand new, first time installs. I used Filezilla to upload all files to my site.
It appears that the files may have been corrupted since the uploaded files are just slightly smaller than the unzipped files.
I have checked all files to confirm that I have executable permissions.
I have yet to see an Install page for Mailbeez.

Hello Mailbeez,
The second/alternate welcome email mod you created recently is table layout design? I want email logo and content arranged in table with border to looks more organized.
Additionally, I also want the original ZC welcome email can be arrange in table format. So I can have logo image and content organized and can adjust email within the 8x11 paper size. I tried but no luck. Someone help here would be appreciated.
hi hara,
in zencart the mailbeez generated content is merged into zencart's email template system.
So sounds like you need to adopt your zencart email templates to achieve what you want. That is customization work, pls send me an email if you want me to take care of it.
am not sure what you want to achieve with the 8x11 paper size?
cheers
cord
I want to customize the welcome email layout with 3 rows table with black border line. First row for logo banner, 2nd row for text, 3rd for some images for example. This will look better for customer receiving in their email box. I tried hard to edit/add table codes but no luck so far. Im even not sure which email template file to edit. try to control the layout and content within one 8x11 printing size.
re: which email template to edit - edit all of them - you want all of your emails to have consistent layout when it comes to headers, layout, colors, and other various elements of style in order to communicate professionalism to your customers.
If you want to edit the language in the emails, you need to find the appropriate file that defines the language you want to change. Instructions to do that can be found here and also here
If you want to edit the style of your email templates, you must edit the Zen Cart email template files.
Your Zen Cart email template files are found in the email folder in your cart's main directory folder. They are named in a very obvious manner so you can tell which template controls which type of email. For example, the welcome email template is named email_template_welcome.html.
Most importantly, the default email template file must also be edited.
You need to know how to write in html and apply in line styling in order to edit these templates. If you don't know how to do that, a google search of W3Schools will help you find a site that can help you.
Even though Mailbeez uses Zen Cart email templates, I still had to do some editing of the Mailbeez email files for each mod I installed in order to ensure consistency with my existing Zen Cart email template modifications. (the header, the language, the spacing, etc).
Since you seem to have a difficult time finding your way around Zen Cart, it's files and folders, and vast array of instructions and tutorials, I recommend you pay someone to do this for you - unless you're interested in investing the time required to learn it for yourself - which is always a great idea unless you're under a time crunch.
I believe Cord has extended the offer to do your editing for you on a for fee basis - you might consider taking him up on it.
Good luck and happy zenning
Hi ScriptJunkie,
Thank you so much for your detail explanation. I will try myself some time have fun when achieve it.
You're welcome - it can be very time consuming to learn the skills required to use Zen Cart and it's wonderful array of addons, but if one can afford the time - doing for self and learning as you go is very satisfying indeed. That is my preferred method. Other times, it makes more sense to pay a pro to do it for you so you can get your site up and running and begin making money.
It all depends on what your needs are
hi LD,
was now able to check your installation.
The error above was caused by inserting "error_reporting(ALL)" without and ending ";" in <admin>/mailbeez.php
The root cause for mailbeez not working is
PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class base in /home/(...)/html/zencart/includes/classes/class.base.php on line 17
which happens in <admin>/mailbeez.php already in the first code line
require('includes/application_top.php');
So it is not caused by mailbeez at all !? but already by the zencart framework
on Google I found e.g. this thread:
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=72460
maybe this helps you to find out what is wrong
cheers

Hi Mailbeez, Re: Share Review on Facebook Module (V1.5)
The links going out in the emails look like the following
This will post fine to the Facebook Wall, but when someone clicks on the product on the facebook wall that was previewed, they get "product not found" and if you look at the link in the URL, it looks like the following:PHP Code:
Share my Review on Facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2FLinkToOurStore.com%2Findex.php%3Fmain_page%3Dproduct_reviews_info%26amp%3Bproducts_id%3Dproducts_id%3D12034%26amp%3Breviews_id%3D4309&t=My Review
http://LinkToOurStore.com/index.php?...eviews_id=4309
Because of the "%3D" in the link, the customer when they click on that link get a "product not found in the store."
Is there a way to fix this so it formats properly in the email sent to the customer prompting them to share their review on facebook?
Ive been using the Review Reminder with success, but I am now noticing a slight anoyance. Maybe I've missed something....
When I get a posative responce and they leave feedback, I am finding it increasingly difficult to track the user in order to send them a discount coupon.
Sometimes they enter a nick name or just their first name Etc. Also, even if they make it easy and use the same name in the review I then have to trawl through ALL my customer list to send the coupon. I hope this makes some sence to you.
Now... Just maybe I am doing this all wrong but any help to make the process easier or even automated would be great.
Also I'm not keen on the way I have to manually set up a discount coupon (setting the date each time) for individual customers.
Thanks for any pointers
Here is the fix for those who need this :)

I have been using Mailbeez for a long time but upgraded recently to version 2.5 on Zen Cart 1.3.8a.

Thanks in advance.

PURE Chocolate Truffles
Hi kim,
with MailBeez V2.5 there is a new setting which allows to override the zencart email template system.
go to MailBeez -> configuration -> email engine
and check "Override Zencart Email Template System" - there you find also some more information
If set to 'true' MailBeez will tell Zencart not to merge the generate content into Zencart Email main templates, but apply the MailBeez main template.
The MailBeez Main Template MUST start (the first 6 characters) with '<html>' otherwise Zencart will still merge the content into its mail template system.
So I guess your MailBeez Main Template ("mailhive/common/template/email_html.tpl") does start with e.g a blank? So you have defined one time your logo there and a second time in "emails/email_template_default.html".
So either make sure that "mailhive/common/template/email_html.tpl" starts with nothing else but "<html>" or change the setting to "false"
does it work?
cheers

Mailbeez v2.5 is Released!
Here finally some information about the new release of MailBeez with two important enhancements for ZenCart:
Complete blog post:
Read: Mailbeez v2.5 is Released!
All the new features in v2.5:
- Reversible unsubscribe – customers can unblock their email address from the linked unsubscribe page if they wish to resubscribe
- “Kill Process” button designed to stop long sending processes in case the administrator wishes to amend the email campaign (configuration > process control)
- Design improvements and new dashboard icons
- New status indicator that clearly displays production or simulation mode in a prominent position in the Mailbeez dashboard
- Generic framework enhancements
- New default email layout at a new, inbox friendly 600px width
- ZenCart: option to override Zencarts email template system to give full layout control to MailBeez
- ZenCart: When using Zencart’s email templates, the system will now try to use email / email_template_mailbeez.html. If that does not exist, the email_template_default.html is applied
- Mailbeez copyright footer now appears in all free to use module emails – easily removed with the MailBeez Copyright Remover Certificate module
MailBeez V2.5 is also an important bugfix release: In earlier 2.x versions when filters were installed double sendings (only once) could appear in rare occasions
If after updating your MailBeez looks different, do a [shift] + reload to reload the CSS files.

Many thanks for your reply. The only thing I have changed in mailhive/common/template/email_html.tpl is to add my facebook and twitter addresses and then give my own logo the file name default_emailheader.gif. And no, email_html.tpl starts with nothing else but "<html>".
I tried to set "Override Zencart Email Template System" to false and this resultated in just one logo but also added some text. Please see the attached file.
What would be the best to do: try to get rid of this text or try to make "Override Zencart Email Template System" to work ?
Kim
It looks awesome!! I am happy to check out the facebook review module again now :)
Also, I looked high and low in the instructions and on your site, and only found it here in this thread to edit the new facebook, twitter, and address portion of the email footer (editing mailhive/common/template/email_html.tpl).
hi kim,
if you are thinking of using more than just the free MailBeez modules it would be better to make "Override Zencart Email Template System" work, since the premium modules will come with a choice of professional email templates. You will also get a "real" preview of the emails.
When set to false, MailBeez takes the "hand-through" main template mailhive/common/templates/email_html_zencart.tpl" - there you can remove the additional text (as it says btw).
I don't have access to zencart 1.3.8, so if you sent me your
/includes/functions/functions_email.php
I can check if the options to override the zencart template system was introduces with 1.3.9
Please share per email on cord (that funny a thing here) mailbeez (tiny point) com

Just bought the new Mailbeez Essentials. Seems like great stuff :).
However I cannot get the winback advanced module to work properly.
The Review Reminder seems to work great, it lists the submodules and I can run these as I wish - I suppose I can automate them as well, haven't gone that far yet though.
However with the winback advanced module I get some wierd error once I click the submodule. Please see attached screenshot. The right sidebar dissapears and I cannot do anything from here, some css styling seems to vanish as well.
I've tried to reinstall it - same problem.
Any ideas? Thanks!
Regards Peter
hi peter,
thanks a lot for purchasing the MailBeez Essentials!
After you have set up everything and tested it in simulation mode you will be able to run everything automatically with the include modules "run mailbeez automatically" (so it does what it says it does ;-) )
I just check the install instructions - missing there is that you need to copy the config_coupon_engine (file & subfolder) as well. Have you done that?
Please also check your /cache dir for the latest MyDebug log - what does it say?
btw you have 24months free upgrades using your avangate download link - so you can always download the latest versions.

hi peter,
please download again, copy the files into your system, click button "remove" and button "install"

The updated module works just fine. Thanks!
Another question :
I read this in the docs regarding custom coupons :
Coupon dates – Please ignore these fields, as Mailbeez will override these settings in configuring the expiration date for your campaign
So, let's say I want to send customers that have not purchased in 90 days a personalized free shipping coupon valid for 14 days from the date they receive the e-mail. Where would I set this expiration date?
I've read about how to create the coupons (http://www.mailbeez.com/documentatio...pon-campaigns/) and I'm pretty sure I've done that part right :)
Two more! (I'd edit my previous post if I could)
1.
I just sent a review reminder to 82 customers, and I can see in my dashboard (the beez-o-graph) that they where sent.
However, when I go back to the review advanced module and click "show recipients", all these 82 customers are still listed there.
Any idea why? :) This is kinda scary because I don't wanna send the same e-mail twice to my customers.
2.
I've tried several times to send test mails with the review advanced module but I cannot get it to work. Test e-mails for other modules works fine, most of the time. I've tried with several e-mail adresses, and the copy goes out fine, that's why I cannot see that it would be a server issue. Any ideas? :S
EDIT : The reason I need the above to work is that the copied e-mail is always being sent in plain text and not HTML. Is it possible to change this setting?
hi peter
Please download again , now you can configure this on the top level of "winback advanced"Quote:
Where would I set this expiration date?
go to configuration > Mailhive basic configuration, setQuote:
1.
I just sent a review reminder to 82 customers, and I can see in my dashboard (the beez-o-graph) that they where sent.
Enable "Early Check": true
now the list should be empty.
Early check does what it say it does, it checks already against the list of sendings (see in reports -> list tracking data)
some people expect to always see the list of all current recipients, other only those who will get an email.
check http://www.mailbeez.com/support/ > FAQQuote:
...is always being sent in plain text and not HTML.
"If your zen-cart is configured to send HTML emails you need to set up a customer-account with your CC-email / send-copy-to email and configure this account to receive emails in HTML format.
When using this email address for testing / CC you should now receive the HTML version."
cheers
cord
Thank you cord, all your suggestions worked :).
Two more :
1.
When sending test e-mails from the "review reminder advanced" the list of bought products is empty when I send in HTML, plain text works fine though.
The html-template has this piece of code where the products are supposed to show:
{$list_engine.productlist_review_simple}
but no products is shown in the test e-mail. Cannot remember I've edited the template here. What could be wrong?
2.
Regarding winback advanced :
How can I be 100% sure that my coupon is correctly set up and everything will work?
The test e-mail shows some default values and the coupon in the test e-mail is different from the ones I've setup (the test coupon gives 10% off, but the coupon I've set for this gives free shipping...)
Is there anyway to do a real life test of this module before going live? :)
3.
Regarding winback advanced :
For my first winback activation I've selected a coupon with the code "template_mailbeez_winback1".
However, when I view the settings in my admin backend there is another coupon listed in the right sidebar, here it's called "645de78d57" and that's definately not the coupon I've selected.
I try again by clicking "edit" and I select the coupon I want, still it says I'm using the "645de78d57" coupon instead. This one has not been valid for several years.
Any suggestions, again? :).
let me follow up with 1 and 3 as soon as possible more detailed
3: please check your coupon code (not the name!) of a newly created coupon is starting with "template_". in the winback advanced module you should only see that coupon. (let me double check later)
regarding 2:
the test email is there to send a quick test.
to have a real preview you can run everything in simulation mode.
in simulation mode you can test everything incl generation of coupon. in simulation mode the coupon code are starting with [SIM] and there will appear a button on the top level to delete all generated simulation coupons.
see also section "simulation" under tab configuration for further options.
hi peter,
regarding 3:
I think it works, but the instructions might be confusing, please follow these steps:
- go to your coupon admin (or click in mailbeez on "set up a coupon template")
- set up a coupon as you like, enter in "COUPON CODE" (not name) e.g. "template_winback_2011"
- save the coupon
- go to mailbeez > winback advanced > step 1
- click on edit, now you should see a drop-down only containing coupon templates
- choose the coupon template of your choice
now you have set up a coupon template and assigned that in the mailbeez module.
does that work for you?
cheers
cord
regarding 1:
please download again - just replace review_advanced.php
This should do the trick?

hi kim,
thanks for sending the 1.3.8 file
includes/functions_email.php
I compared it with the recent 1.3.9 version and saw a lot of changes - and that the override setting won't work on 1.3.8.
I suggest you try to replace (make a copy of the original file!!!!)
includes/functions_email.phpwith the files from the latest zencart release and try if your emails still work (storefront, admin & mailbeez emails).
If yes, I think it should be save to go this way, if not - restore your original file.
You might try to find a hack to make it compatible.
the important line is in Version 1.3.8
which is in Version 1.3.9 like this:PHP Code:
$email_html = zen_build_html_email_from_template($module, $block);
so it looks if the content starts with a valid html tag and - if not - applies the zencart template system.PHP Code:
$email_html = (!is_array($block) && substr($block, 0, 6) == '<html>') ? $block : zen_build_html_email_from_template($module, $block);
would be great if you share your findings with us!
regards
cord
I am having issues with the emails sent to my customers. The top of the message say "template: mailhive/common/templates/email_txt.tpl" across the top when I send a test. It says that the test emails will be exactly what the customer sees.
I have no idea how to fix this.
Also in my settings I went through all of the drop down choices regarding which recipients are going to get the email but none of the customers came over from my cart. Regardless of which category I use, ie shipped, complete, new ect.
This is for the Winback module.
Any help would be appreciated. I dont have much script knowledge and the ZenCart-Templates.com techs that I use cant help me...
I recommend the tutorial http://www.mailbeez.com/documentatio...tting-started/ :smartalec: . All email content is taken from template (.tpl) files and the text line gives you the location of that file. Also I highly recommend you adopt the wordings, graphics etc to your business - the included files are just examples.Quote:

MailBeez runs inside your Store, so it has direct access to your customerst. There is no need to import or synchronize anything.Quote:

This is for the Winback module.
If the module is not delivering any results, the reasons might be:
- there are no matching customers for the settings
- all emails have been sent, and "early check" is set to true
- you have an unsupported config cache
1.: make sure you have customers matching your settings, e.g. if you set the winback time frame to start at 90 days and skip after 120 days, it will show customers who have placed there last order with the selected order status more than 90 days ago, but less then 120 days ago
2.: you can toggle this under mailbeez > configuration > mailhive
3.: check for unsupported config cache installed. You can do this with mailhive_info.php located in /extras of the Zip-archive (V2.5+) you can download from mailbeez.com. Please follow the instructions in readme.txt
hope this helps

Hi again cord, thank you for taking your time.

When running the module, the correct coupon seems to be sent out (the one I've created has the code starting with template_ and I've also been able to select it for this module)
But the wrong coupon code is listed within the module properties (please see attached screenshot). This seems to be of no danger as it's still the correct coupon that is being sent out. But could this be a bug, maybe?

Thank you, I knew of the simulation mode but I was to stupid to use it for this purpose :)

Thanks, I'll try!

hi peter,
3.: I can't replicate this.
Please double check:
- your coupon CODE (not name!) starts with "template_"
- in the dropdown it shows e.g. "The Nice Coupon (template_myCouponCode)
- after saving the configuration it shows "template_coupon"
In the dropdown you see <coupon_name> (<coupon_code>), while in the area showing the current settings only <coupon_code> (should probably change this...!?)
try eventually to delete your old coupon "645de78d57", might be that there is something wrong with the coupon_id of this one
hi peter,
sorry for the late reply, but the forum server was down.
Am still trying to understand why the list doesn't show for you.
please check:
* myDebug.log - anything there? (if yes, please send me an email)
* please double check you downloaded the latest version again from avangate and replaced the files
* Try to restore the original template in the template manager in case you broke the template variable inserting the product list (make first a copy of your changes. - if you like you can save them as a new template in the modules "email" directory e.g. "myTemplate_body_html_stepX.tpl" - it will then appear as "myTemplate" in the template selector)

Hi cord! thanks for your time.
I will pm you the log, there is an error but I'm not sure it's related.
I've tried your other two suggestions (replaced files, even uninstall / install, + restored the template), also tried to disable autologin but still the product list it not shown :(.
Ok, I've got the list established which was my error. I needed to set the days to a longer period of time to pick up older customers.
I still see the text at the top of the emails. I was able to update the "message" that is sent to my customers. But I'd rather them not see the text. When I send emails through my cart in regular fashion my logo is at the top. But when I send a "test" email from MailBeez all I see is text (script?) at the top of the message. The message is there but with the text at the top it looks really unprofessional.
I will forward this response to the guys who installed this for me and see if the info will help them correct the issue.
From your log I guess you are using PHP4 - I fixed that incompatibility in config_list_engine.php, so please try to replace this file from the most recent download.
cord
ok, in this case please check:
MailBeez > configuration:
Do you have an entry "List Engine"? when editing the configuration, do you have a setting "Column Layouts - Number of columns" (should be 3 by default)?
cord
Hmmm. For some reason both "setting fields" where empty.
When I try to enter something, it seems like the setting is not saved - the fields go totally blank again.
I think we're on the right track now, at least, but I wonder why my settings does not take effect...
looks like we located the problem, so we can solve it ;-)
sent you a PM with instructions.
I've installed this for a client on 1.3.9 just fine. On a test install of 1.5, the module is not showing up in the admin at all. I double checked the installed files and remembered to add the files from extras_zencart.
Has this been tested on 1.5 yet?
