COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

ekele:

Hello, again!

After upgrading to 139f I am having some problems: when customer doesn't log off, another customer cannot log in. So my question is: could it be related to upgrading? Is there any way to make automatic log off when customers using COWOA leaves the page?
And another question: I want uninstall Update COWOA 2SQL file. Do I have to uninstall all SQL files and then install againwithout updated COWOA? I do not want to mess my shop up more than it is already messed:cry:

Best regards.

Yes, I also noticed this problem. It doesn't Log-Off automatically. Although there is a logoff button on the last page of the COWOA page and there is a message that request the user to logoff, but you never know if the user will click it or not. It has to be automatic.

Another bug is when you add a Non-US address in the Billing form, the address details don't get transfered to the next page (i.e. shipping form). It works perfectly if its a US address. Not sure if it has something to do with making US default country in country drop-down on billing page.

A customer not logging off should have no effect on another logging in unless you are using the same computer and you do not close the browser. That is a function of the browser cache. All sessions time out after a certain amount of time as well. You need to me more specific on this.
You could just turn off the feature in the configuration file or copy out of the uninstall sql file the one set of instructions that delete the entry for the Email only checkout function. That would be this:

DELETE FROM configuration WHERE configuration.configuration_title = 'Enable E-Mail Only' LIMIT 1;

Does the Non-US thing happen with COWOA all shut off in the configuration file?

I'll work to get the non US address problem corrected and put out an update as soon as I can.

HERE is the fix that should be implemented to correct the address bug.

Look for this around line 37 in /includes/modules/no_account.php

 if ($_SESSION['cart']->show_total() != 0 and COWOA_EMAIL_ONLY == 'true')

Change it to

 if ($_SESSION['cart']->show_total() != 0 || COWOA_EMAIL_ONLY == 'false') {

SUGGESTED CHANGE: when editing files (esp for addons) in the /includes/modules/ folder, it's best to put the edited versions into your own template-override folder, ie: /includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/ instead of replacing core files directly.

(Note: under /includes/modules/, this only works in the /includes/modules/ folder, and not in any of the subfolders below it such as modules/pages, modules/shipping, etc)

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

Another bugfix has been added. COWOA customer could not register as a regular customer using the same e-mail address.

To apply this fix either download the 2.0b and copy the one file or edit the file /includes/modules/create_acount.php.
Around line 134 look for

$check_email_query = "select count(*) as total
                            from " . TABLE_CUSTOMERS . "
                            where customers_email_address = '" . zen_db_input($email_address) . "'";

and change the end of the line so it looks like this:

$check_email_query = "select count(*) as total
                            from " . TABLE_CUSTOMERS . "
                            where customers_email_address = '" . zen_db_input($email_address) . "'
                            and COWOA_account != 1";

The file has been uploaded to Zen Cart and is available on My Mods Site.

Thanks for the tip DrByte. I'll start modifying my addons in this fashion.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

I have downloaded the latest version of Zen 1.39f and a fresh version of this COWOA (2.0). I set up two identical folders on my xampp environment and had one install of Zen with COWOA and another with FEC. The one with FEC works ok, but the one with COWOA has a slight problem.!!

The customer goes through the guest checkout ok, no problems there. The problem comes when I look on the admin panel and all I have is an email address under orders, with no physical shipping or billing addresses? I also have nothing show up on the customer list?

I have reinstalled all the folders and followed the installation instructions exactly. Any idea what might be causing this??

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

UPDATE: Having looked a bit closer it is not carrying over the customer details from step one to step three of the 'checkout without account' process? Any idea where I should be looking to resolve this? :blink:

Get 2.0b from my Mods Site and see if that corrects the problem.

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

JTheed Thanks! Been waiting for something like this...

Installed v2.0b on ZC 1.39e

Already had COWA so used the update to 2.0 sql.

Can check out, but here are the issues:

  1. I don't see any place to configure COWA in the admin.

  2. Order confirmation email does not contain link for customer to login with email and order #

  3. Order confirmation email is missing top portion

"Order Confirmation from Acme Widgets

Joe Customer

Thanks for shopping with Acme Widgets today!
The following are the details of your order.

Order Number: 1234
Date Ordered: Saturday 21 August, 2010
Detailed invoice available."

  1. Customer sees this on the Checkout Success scree
    "In order to view a detailed invoice, your order history and receive updates, simply log in with your email address and the password you created."

Please advise.

Thanks.

I downloaded 2.0b from your site, overwrote the existing files and it has now solved the issue with missing data. :smile:

Just two little things now. On the success page the only logout button is on the page itself and the nav bar still displays log in? Once the user has gone past the success page, the only way to log out appears to be by shutting down the browser. Would a future improvement to this, be to have the nav bar with a log out button, as the nav bar continues to show log in even when the cowoa customer is actually still logged in.

The other thing is that if PayPal Express is enabled, the first checkout page (after the cart) is extremely confusing in the left hand column for customers. Would a better solution be for the template to have PayPal Express in its own separate box.

Out of all the cowoa modules, I do like the clear 'process point' indicators on top of the various checkout pages, in this version.

Did you have my Version 1.9 installed prior to update?

Do you by any chance run the Admin Profiles mod?

I do not touch the logout, so this would be in your template tpl_header.php file.
I use my own Templates when I set this up, so give me a link to your site so I can see what you mean on the paypal issue.

The sites are on my offline xampp set up at the moment, but I'll look at the template files you suggested, to see if they can be 'tweaked'.

Thank you for you help. :smile:

Hi, I think now everything works fine. I tried to uninstall what you suggested but no success. I got an error and I left it like it is. But still it bothers me that when customer doesn't log out or abandons the shopping cart, no one can purchase from my store using the same computer without closing browser. But still, COWOA is my favourite mod:P

This is from YOUR defined pages, define_checkout_success.php file.
You could just add if you registered for an account, then etc....

Re: COWOA Module (my update for ZC v1.3.x)

It was a while back and it was the COWA download from wiki, so I am guessing cowa 1.3.8.

Are these the admin settings the install is referring to?
Checkout Without Account installed true
Checkout Without Account permission true
Shipping Address on Registration/COWOA step false

I was trying to merge the files and also upgrade the files from 1.3.9c to 1.3.9e so that is most likely where the problem is (one of the 15 merged files). Where is the code and in which file is the code responsible for the missing email info?

Thanks.

No, did not install that mod. But I do have super orders and master password mods installed (among others).

Checked and rechecked merges and still no header info or order link in the confirmation email. Just the products...

Ideas???

Thanks.
