Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Replicas Im telling you that paypal 2.0 is verisign payflowpro

and the 20 a month account you are talking about is paypal PRO with express checkout,

I know I have spent close to 100 Hrs talking to paypal about the 2

remember verisign was bought out by paypal.

stands to reason that they will rename the payflow but its STILL payflow
here is the description

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_payflow-pro-overview-outside
and pricing info
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_payflow-gateway-pricing-outside

this is what you are refering to
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_wp-pro-overview-outside

and neither one is worth the price
use a decent gateway and the usps mod

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

If it used to be payflo pro and that was verisign, shouldnt the verisign payflo pro payment module work with it?

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Ive spent the whole day arguing with them about looking at the exsisting module and seeing where the problem is.
They told me it is not their responsibilty to do zencart support, and I should contact zencart.

I know it will work because it is almost there on my site
this is the current error I get

Result code: 7: Field format error: 10542-This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid email address

thats what I have been trying to find out from them,

talking to them is seriously frustrating . no one has a clue, they hit a wall and send you on to the next level of service and so on . they hung a piece of cheese in front of me and i chased it for about a month . today i had them cancel my service.

after all that they never even got my account activated much less helped me integrate it to the site. however the whole time each one of them promised that soon as i was done with activating thew account that someone would help me integrate it to my site with API. i told them i used zen cart and they said they are not familiar with it but they promise someone will help me install it , guess that was a empty promise if they wont help this other guy ...

hell , the whole time i kept asking everyone of them if the stupid thing even had "ship buttons" similar to how normal paypal works and not a single one of them could tell me even that ...

this is the last email i got from them. id show you the other 20 but they all say pretty much the same thing

Hi Ryan,

Regarding the functionality you've asked about, we should have an answer for you soon. These features should be available with your "Express Checkout" (EC) transactions. However I'm checking into the availability for gateway purchases through PayPal.

We are continuing to develop a workable solution to get your account up and running. We are making progress here. I hope to have an ETA by midweek. Again, I appreciate your patience in giving us the opportunity to deliver you a solution. I am committed to rewarding your patience with results soon!

the only thing relatively satisfying about the whole thing is that they would call me and give me updates even though they never made any progress. made me feel like they were at least trying.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I am using the payflow pro module
http://www.zen-cart.com/archived_contributions/payment/payflowpro-1.2f.zip

I have payflow pro service

Paypal verisign tech support 888-883-9770
Said that the module im using is exactly the module I should be using, and they have "dozens" of zencart users currently on the exact same set up.

They don't provide instalation support for zencart and will refer you to https://www.zencart.com for support.
The error code I have
Result code: 7: Field format error: 10542-This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid email address

Is not a payflow pro error, it is a zen cart error

The module was written before zen 1.3 so any changes to Zen since then have not been updated in the verisign payflow pro module

Paypal says that even though they purchased verisign, none of the SDK has changed. All the Verisign servers are the same.

They told me the service I have is a BETA

It is not in official release and no one at paypal has been trained on it.

They said some people with ZEN get it to work right away, others never do.

The payflow pro module is from 02-Mar-2006, This would represent to me, it needs to be examined, and it is the source of the problem.

Correction. It is NOT a zencart error, but a compatibility error with the outdated mod you are using.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

im curious , what is it that you hope payflow will do for you that card services international wont ?

http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=infopages&pages_id=30

seems the pricing is pretty much the same

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_payflow-gateway-pricing-outside

what is the percentage that payflow charges per transaction?

EDIT
according to this page they don't charge a percentage per transaction. just the monthly fee and 10 cents a transaction . that's a pretty huge savings. would save me at least $300 a month if that were true.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Look here:

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_payflow-gateway-pricing-outside

It says:

"The prices listed are for the Payflow gateways only and do not include additional fees that your bank or card association may charge."

So no, it doesn't include the transaction fees. This is only the gateway fee.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Payflow Pro® Service - You will be billed $0.00 for every transaction. this IS the payflow options listed here. payflow and paypal 2.0 are the very same thing, no question about it. they may not be charging the fees right now because as you said it is in beta or something but this is what it is.
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_payflow-gateway-pricing-outside

Website Payments Pro - You will be billed 2.20-2.90% of the transaction amount + $0.30 based on historical volume. You will receive the proceeds of each transaction net of fees.

we are unable to use this because of the checkout system that zencart uses currently

PayPal Express Checkout - You will be billed 1.90-2.90% of the transaction amount + $0.30 based on historical volume. You will receive the proceeds of each transaction net of fees.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Right, so the payflow pro is what we need to focus on.
The exsisting payment module and server side set up is the focus.

The bottom line is paypal is offering payflow pro for no set up fee and only $20 per month. Everyone has been waiting on a deal like this, and paypal said now that they own verisign, they can charge only the $20 per month to attract more customers. Everyone should be all over this, and for some reason everyone here doesnt beleive its true, yet no one has yet to call paypal and verify it.

So one of you totaly zenned people who have a little more history than me, please call paypal and confirm im not BS'ing you guys, and lets get on the ball and make this thing happen.
