Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

replicapropscom:

Right, so the payflow pro is what we need to focus on.
The exsisting payment module and server side set up is the focus.

The bottom line is paypal is offering payflow pro for no set up fee and only $20 per month. Everyone has been waiting on a deal like this, and paypal said now that they own verisign, they can charge only the $20 per month to attract more customers. Everyone should be all over this, and for some reason everyone here doesnt beleive its true, yet no one has yet to call paypal and verify it.

So one of you totaly zenned people who have a little more history than me, please call paypal and confirm im not BS'ing you guys, and lets get on the ball and make this thing happen.

I dont understand where the fantastic deal is

it is $20 plus

"The prices listed are for the Payflow gateways only and do not include additional fees that your bank or card association may charge."

So no, it doesn't include the transaction fees. This is only the gateway fee.

i don't see any real savings over CSI and link point. why go through all this then ?

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Ok I just got off the phone with paypal

here is the scoop

payflow is ONLY a gateway, it will require you to have your own merchant account.
setup on it is $249 and monthly fee is $59.
you get 1000 transactions a month for free then there is a 10 cent per transaction fee.

discount rates and per transaction fees will still be charged by your Merchant account holder

since this is a total seperate service you will NOT see any payflow transactions in your paypal account and cant use the ship button.

paypal pro with express checkout is the $20 a month account with the 2.1 to 2.9 Percent +35 cent per transaction fees,

paypal pro is NOT supported by Zen Cart.........

there is a new payflow 2 coming out soon but it will be an extension of payflow and will NOT be assocated with your paypal account.

I hope this puts all the questions to rest.

Replicas based on the information I just got and verified you will more than likely want to take a look at card services international, the fees are MUCH better

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

You called the wrong office. Call the sales rep I listed in my previouse post.
The rest of the paypal staff has not been trained on the paypal 2.0 Trust me, im not BS'ing you.
I just called the sales rep and he is getting permision from his manager to set up an account here and work with us on this.
I told him no one hear beleaves me.

Paypal 2.0 deposits the money into your paypal account. There are no gateway fees, and no card fees.
Only the $20 per month and 2.9% + .30 transaction.
Dude just call his direct line, he will confirm it.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I already went through the cardservice headache. There were additional fees after you sign up and you had to pay extra for AMEX and discover. My first months bill was $54, so dont tell me its cheaper.

how much are the extra fees and what are they ? speaking of set up fees or ongoing fees ?

i turned down discover in the set up and then they immediately offered it to me free : )

I'm curious , what your headache was , this was prolly the most simple set up i had ever done.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

The sales rep from paypal will be logging on soon to help. I'll leave it to him to clear this up. I apparently can not get my point accross.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Ok another 2 hours on the phone with paypal,

I have to apologize to Robert,

it seems that as usual paypal has NO freakin clue what the left and right hands are doing.

I was talking to the PAYPAL sales team earlier,
the information I listed earlier is what paypal is offering

this phonecall got me through to the verisign sales team.

they are offering paypal pro w/ payflow

it is the payflow gateway piggybacking on paypal pro.

it is $20 a month flat rate. no extra fees... however ONLY the verisign team can authorize it....

OK now that that is out in the open we need to figure out why in the world the pfp module is voiding on a freakin email address that it shouldnt be asking for.

once again Robert I apologize...

<< Shakes fist at and kisks dirt at the dumb SOBS at paypal, left and right need to get their crap together

Dude no reason to appologize, its Miller time now. I have to thank you for spending so much time on this.

This new service should be a great thing for lots of people.

Since my service is already activated, I will be the test bed for anything you need me to do.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Merlinpa1969 has updated the payflow pro module and I just tested his fix and it works perfectly.

you can download the module here http://www.zen-cart.com/archived_contributions/payment/payflowpro-1.2f.zip

Open it and comment out lines 294 and 351

so that they look like

//$parmList .= "&EMAIL=".' Email:'. $order->customer['email_address'];

It will work perfectly after you install. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the SQL install and set the permisions in the bin files to 755

To sum up what this is
Paypal 2.0 is a no contract, flat $20 per month full service gateway that runs directly on zencart with no problems. It includes Visa MC Discover and Amex
It is seemless and transparent to the customer, the money is captured automatically from the customers credit card and available to you in your paypal account immediatly.
There are no hidden fees, only the 2.9% +0.30 per transaction.

I just purchase an item from my website using it, and the money was in my paypal account with in 30 seconds, ready to spend.

Id like to give a huge Thanks to Tony for not choking me for driving him crazy, and for everyone else who didn't call me retarded.

Enjoy it folks.
Rob

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

When I called and tried to sign up (we are a Toronto, ON, Canada based company), PayPal refused to help us claiming that you need to be in the US (have a Tax ID, Social Security Number, etc.) Another words, it seems this PayPal 2.0 has the same limitations as the PayPal Pro, when it comes to Canadians anyway.

According to PayPal, you can get PayFlow Pro separately, no problem, but you can't link it to your PayPal account, it has to connect to another internet merchant account.

Can anyone confirm? Is there a complete PayPal solution for Canadians, except IPN?

Don't call Paypal, call the versign office. I don't know the answer to your question, however call the sales rep I bought mine from. Here is his info.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

No, it only captures the funds. This is a limitation, however if it is based on the software of the payment module and not on paypal them selves, then im sure we can have a guru here update the module.
I know, that when I did the test, the payment showed up and all the feilds for address, and email were there, but not filled in. So I can only assume the info is simply not being captured by the payment module since the feilds are actuall there.
here is a screen shot of what showed up in paypal. So hopefully someone here can look at the code and see if its not being captured.
