Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Absolutly. We are less than 24 hrs into this thing actually functioning, so now getting all the desired features to work off of a module that has been gathering dust for months is only a matter of time. If I had training I would do it my self.

By the way, just so everyone knows, it took 3 days to set up the paypal 2.0 account. The website they set up to do it is still buggy, so don't worry if they run into problems getting through the initial account set up.
For instance the part where you agree to the terms and conditions, only works in Firefox browser, while the rest only works in IE. So you get half way through and you have to exit and save then switch to firefox to finish. Thats a Beta for you. It was not as much fun as when I beta tested SOCOM II.

ya i had tons of problems . first it wouldn't accept the "token" they issued me and it took a whole team of people just to fix that issue . then there was some issue with it not accepting my SS# as valid and then lastly it wouldn't accept the email addresses on my paypal account as valid so they were unable to link the two. i kinda lost track of how many people i talked to , seemed like every few days i got upgraded a service level and was talking to someone new. they never did figure out the email address issue,

certainly this is not an easy task .

BTW this took about a month and the account still was not up and running.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

To be honest i didn't realize that i was locked into CSI/linkpoint for 6 months .

when that is up i might change to the payflow even with out the shipping buttons so all my payments go through the same place for easier record keeping. Part of my business uses ebay so using paypal for that is an absolute must.

may just try and wait it out until the 1.5 series of zen cart is released and you can just use the normal payments pro. i have no idea how long that will be though.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

paypal pro will still suck.
I dont want my customers going to paypal and filling in all the information, then deciding what information I should have

once they do away with the express checkout then all will be golden

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I just got my first real order by credit card, and the little ship button did show up!!!!!

I forgot that I had set the test product to no shipping.

So the button showed up, but it did not capture the shipping info.
So this is probably a module issue.
Merlin, I know you have already run down your super powers on this thread, but would you like to look at the module?

man that would be so sweet.

this is my dream come true . all my payments sent to one place. all with auto fill in of the shipping info and it is extremely easy to see what orders have gone out and what ones haven't because the ship button disappears when its been shipped. really not much else i could ask for .

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Have really enjoyed following this thread...

Some valuable "bits" of information have come to the surface through the to and fro, but now could we have a clear and succinct step by step as to how one would go about availing themselves of Paypal 2.0 for zen cart.

Really, lets get it from step one... :cool:

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Ok, you need to call the verisign department of paypal. Best bet is to call the rep I used since he knows everything and has been reading this thread as well.
Here is his info again
Meric Turkoglu ** *** NOTE: See below**
Account Executive
PayPal Payment Services
Direct: 408-967-5857
Toll-free: 888-847-2747 ext. 75857
[email protected]

He will set up the account

Then download and instal the module you can download the module here http://www.zen-cart.com/archived_con...owpro-1.2f.zip

The file payflowpro.php in includes\languages\english\modules\payment
needs the following edit

Open it and comment out lines 294 and 351

so that they look like

//$parmList .= "&EMAIL=".' Email:'. $order->customer['email_address'];

Copy the files to your server then go into the \includes\modules\payment\bin
and set the permisions for the 2 files pfpro and pfpro-file to 755 or 777

Then go to your zencart admin/tools/instal sql patches and upload and run the payflowpro_archive.sql file

Thats it.
make sure in admin/configuration/credit cards you have visa,mc,amex and discover turned on.
Then go to admin/modules/payment and set the verisign payflowpro user id password and partner to the ones you created duiring the purchase of the service.

It should automatically populate everything else

If you get any errors refer back to the permisions 755 part or the code fix in the php file mentioned earlier.

Hope that I covered everything
Rob

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Thanks Replica,

Would be appreciated if one or more of the original contributors (or other skilled coder) could now update and improve this module since its worth now seems extended.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

the current module works,
and all that needs to be passed is the name and address, this information is already passed through the gateway.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

Merlin...

includes/languages/english/modules/payment/payflowpro.php
Will this portion of "function before_process()" continue to work in test mode?

if (MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYFLOWPRO_MODE =='Test') {
  $url="test-payflow.verisign.com";
} else {
  $url="payflow.verisign.com";
}

Without meaning to be pedantic, there also appears to be messages in "function install()" that may be misleading to the inexperienced now that PayPal has taken over this service?

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

$url="test-payflow.verisign.com";
$url="payflow.verisign.com";Both of these addresses work fine. The "paypal.com" versions of them do not appear to resolve properly. I wouldn't trust them yet until paypal gets their act together.

Re: Paypal 2.0 for zen cart

I'll be posting an updated module to the main downloads area shortly. I've spent about 15 hours in the last 2 days cleaning it up. Perhaps folks finding it useful may send a nice bit of support to the Zen Cart team.
